I ahve always wanted to say home and when she gets to that age I may do some volunteer work or something while she is in school. That is if she goes to public school. If not I'll home school. I feel like it's my calling as a mom to teach my child not someone else.

I've been home for 7 years. Admittedly I do other things, but my kids always come first. I work from home, and I babysit (either while dh is at home, or I take my youngest with me while ds is at school)

Having worked in child care I was never going to put my child in a day care centre ever!

I don't know what I will do when dd starts school (that's if we don't have another one) I will probably go back to work in a preschool or occasional care centre. I don't ever want to work in long day care again. Also if dh business ever gets off the ground I wil work as receptionist for the family business. I'll probably have to do some study for that, but it's all good. I try and live my life one day at a time and right now being at home feels right.

For DH and I, generally speaking it will be like literal doors and windows opening. Spiritually speaking, it literally feels like it. We'll head a direction and it won't work out in such a way that it will feel like you've had a door slammed in your face. And if it works out, it may be a window glimpse we get, and then after going down on faith, the door just swings wide open. It's kind of creepy.

I likened our journey together like that scene in Indiana Jones where he has to go across to the Holy Grail over that huge cavern with the walkway that is invisible. It was literally like that first part where he steps out and realizes if you strew the sand on it you can see it... except every part was that way. It still is sometimes... I feel like Tevye in Fiddler on the roof from time to time, and othertimes I have that panic/drama feeling like Indy.

my DH and I talked and prayed about my staying at home once we had children. I worked as a PT Assistant right up until one month prior to my first being born...that was 6 years ago. We have no regrets and have not been shown any other road at this stage.
My youngest is 3, and i feel that i should be with him until he goes to kindegarten. as to what i will do then....only God knows!

Well, I met with my future boss, the schedule and the requirements are very flexible. I just need to get my training in, which is the harder part, it is done out of this area.

Everything is great, except on thing that should be a plus, but isn't. I have inlaw issues...they have their hands into almost every aspect of our lives, and I want to do this as a part of redeveloping my own identity as my kids get older. Guess what, the person who would be my boss used to travel to guatamaulan missions with my parent in-laws. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!

I still want to do this.

You know since we moved here to this apartment Seth has made so many friends, I feel so blessed to beable to get out and socialize with other moms its great

But see I think one of the kids Seth is hanging out with is telling him things he doesn't need to hear, cus today Seth came up to me and told me he wanted to sleep naked with a lady... and thats not my son and he did not hear that in my house... I was really mordified when I heard this, and I asked him who he heard that from and he said someone and I said Who and he wouldn't tell me who I don't know if I should go and ask all the kids who is talking about this or what? I mean to chat with all there parents about this, I don't know I mean only Mary and I watch all the kids, the other moms let there child run free. Its sad... I just don't like that my son is picking up nasty things like this.

i'm sorry melly that your son is being exposed to such talk!
i know as moms we want to protect our children and keep them innocent for as long as we possibly can.
just remind him that that is not polite talk and keep instilling those Christian values in him. maybe when he gets older, he will be the one telling those other kids to be more respectful!

Eventually if you keep holding on to the values and trying to teach your kids the right things to do or say, they will take it to heart and learn how the behave. My soon to be 7 year old even tells me if I say a "rude word" so I must be doing something right somewhere.

Ladies - I could really use some prayer at the moment. I am "over" being a mum. While I love my kids and wouldn't part with them, I am just feeling like it's all on top of me at the moment. My dad passed away less than 2 months ago, and I am grieving that, then we have all had gastro this week. Dh is in bed with it today. I am just sick of cleaning, and housework. I baked some cupcakes with the kids (public holiday here today) and it helped lift it a bit, but now I don't feel at all like getting their dinner or bathing them. Ugh! I try and think tomorrow might be better, but I don't know if it will be, because I know it's more of the same.

i'm so sorry you are feeling low! I know how it feels to lose a dad. i lost mine 6yrs ago, 3 wks b4 my first son was born. keep your eyes on the Lord! i wil pray for you too neenie dear! We get placed into "ruts" in our lives for a reason! God is preparing us for something!

yay! i voted this afternoon (with Jake). it was too funny, because he didn't want to come with me behind the curtain! LOL! he was afraid of it. anyway...the guy who was attending the machine gave Jake some candy, so he felt better! hehe.

My grandfather passed away right when my mom was planning my sister's wedding, not 5 months prior to the wedding. The day he died, he'd gone to the store and picked out the gift he and my grandma were giving my sister. He told grandma to get her shoes on, he wanted to go back to walmart for something... and as he was getting ready, he just went like that...

He was like a second father to me. I can't even pretend to understand what it is like to lose a father (as I haven't), but I know it hurts awfully bad.

My mom didn't deal with it properly and things progressed to fibromyalgia. Do what you have to do to take care of you all. The house can fall a bit to peices... everyone has to pull together with this kind of thing.

Been watching the stuff on election (it is on 3 channels here in Australia ROFL) Roughly what time will you know who wins? It is around 2:30pm Wednesday here - I have to do school run very soon, it's looking like night time on the live coverage over there.

I don't really know that much about either of the guys who were running (Obama or McCain) Just what we saw on tv over here in Australia, which actually was a bit.

I was just so excited to hear Obama got in, I guess it was the idea of history changing or something.

Wow, that's terrible. What a shock for you guys. At least I knew my dad was sick, and it was expected (just hoped that he would get better, when they do die it is the death of that hope which is what makes it harder - my theory anyway)

You are right in dealing with it properly. It's really funny because the strangest things will set me off crying again.
