The SAHMs in our church started a "Mothers morning tea" 3 years ago. Two of us were new to the area, so didn't know many people very well. Everyone wanted the chance for a get together once a week. I had just had my third child, with 3 children under 5 yo. Nearly PND because of a lot of stuff going on. That weekly meeting got me out of the house, with people who could sympathise, hold the baby and make me a cup of tea.
I don't know if there is a thread for stay-at-home-moms. So, if this is a duplicate, I appologize. I'm a SAHM of 3 boys under age 5. They will all be going to public schools also. I do not want to homeschool. I used to work as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Sometimes I miss my work outside the home. I miss the people contact. However, I don't have any regrets about the choice I made to stay home with my children. I know some women do not get that choice. My DH has a good-paying job, so I have the option of working or not.
How about you? SAHM? Did you have a job prior to becoming a SAHM? Do you miss it? What are your plans, if any, when your children are all in school?
although I once had made the decision to work when the girls (and maybe boys someday) got older, I decided I wanted to be available for them first and foremost. So I've decided to stay home (at least at this point) for good to be available to my kids now, all through their teen years, early adulthood and also for when they have children of their own.
My husband and I started off rocky financially, but God has truly provided what we needed and blessed us with so much more.
my boys are driving me crazy! they must have summer fever! i have chores to do, and i cannot seem to keep them busy enough to leave me to do them! the chores cannot wait. We're having people over tomorrow.
I cannot be outside with them and they are too little to go out by themselves. So I am in a pickle!
oh thank you Donna!! I know this...I took the boys outside, then the ice cream man came. they got ice cream and we came back in...i got to vacuum and do the dishes. and i even got 2 loads of laundry done! Now my little one is napping! God is good. He gave me some opportunities and I kept my sanity!
I believe that this is what God is going to work out with us as well
God will always provide exactly what we need in order to accomplish what He would have us do; and as long as we don't give up or give in, we will succeed with Him.
not hereHi to all SAHM'S! The summer is on it's way! Tell us what you do for fun with your wee ones on hot summer days!!
that's great! and welcome to the SAHM forum! What is it that you do for the magazine? I'm glad that you have a job that allows you to work from home. I'm on the hunt for one of those!I'm also very blessed that my husband has a great job which allows me to be a SAHM.
Initially I really enjoyed it but I soon felt that I needed more intellectual stimulation, so I started working from home. I have a fantastic job. Although I live in South Africa I work for a London-based magazine. All the work is done over email and the internet. I can work flexible hours so I can still spend quality time with my daughter. I know how difficult it is to find good work-from-home jobs and I thank God every day that I'm able to have the best of both worlds.

thank you sooo much!!I do all sorts of admin-type stuff. Mostly in the subscriptions department...ie: I set up the online access to the magazines website for subscribers, I also upload all the articles that go into the magazine onto the website, answer any queries regarding subscriptions etc. etc.
My sister also works from home. I'll PM you those details.
I know how difficult it is to find a legitimate job that pays a set salary! I'll be praying for you.
