I am a SAHM and I love it! My children are 2,4,6,8,&9. I have been a SAHM since my first child was born. I went back to school to become a registered vet tech. (like an RN for animals) Some of my Labs & Clinics I completed at a college, but a lot of the courses I could do from home. When they are all in school full time, I plan on working part time to earn some extra money for family vacations & college. For now, I am happy to be home, though.

I'm a WAHM, though the work part is strictly out of necessity; I can't wait for the day I'm a full-time mama again. I don't miss working outside the home at all. I'm not very social by nature, so that makes it very easy to love staying home. I work as a medical transcriptionist from home on my hubby's 3 nights off. I can eat with them, tuck them in, take cuddle breaks...it could be a lot worse! I plan on homeschooling, though the thought can be overwhelming at times. I'll probably start and keep it pretty informal w/ my soon-to-be 4 yo this coming winter. I also have a 2-1/2 yo and one on the way.

i am afraid to homeschool my boys. i'm not sure i would be "smart" enough to do it!
im sure you are smart enough..but in case you didnt know..they have correspondence homeschools out there..you sign up..you get acess to teachers..you send all the childs work and test in and the teacher corrects it and gives a grade. They also give report cards. one of them is Christian Liberty Academy if your interested...it costs a little more than just buying the books..but its still alot cheaper than a christian or private school and your child gets to stay home.

SAHM? Did you have a job prior to becoming a SAHM? Do you miss it? What are your plans, if any, when your children are all in school?

I have one week of work left and then I am becoming a SAHM. I teach high school history, and I do really enjoy my work and the interaction with the kids; however, I don't like the way it can interfere with my family life. I guess not working will take some adjusting, but since we are also moving to another country in a month :)eek: ), I'll be busy adjusting to that too, so I probably won't really notice!

Luckily for me, my job fits in pretty well with school, so when all our kids are at school, it would probably be quite easy to combine with work. Right now we are hoping God will bless us with more children, so my commitment is to them. We are very blessed that DH found a new job (after 10 months out of work) which is well-enough paid that i can stay home. I consider myself very blessed to have the luxury of choice. Many families do not.

I will not be homeschooling. Our oldest will be starting at a good school, so it is not necessary. The only thing I will have to do in a couple of years is teach him to read and write our second language.

I have 3 boys ages 7, 4, and 18mos. I've enjoyed being a SAHM for the past 5 years, but fo financial reasons I will be returning to work as a speech therapist in the fall. When DH and I realized that i needed to return to work I hated the thought of it, but now that I've found an ideal job for me I'm actually looking forward to it. :)

I am SAHM since having my first child (7.5 years) My children are 7.5, 5.5, 3, 8 months.

I worked in an office before having children, so I don't miss that at all!:)

My 2 eldest are at school, but when they are all at school (whenever that may be) I don't plan on going back to work. We have enough money and I'm content to be a SAHM. I will use that new stage in my life to do more helping out at church, eg school scripture, organising women's activities etc.

(FYI I don't homeschool because I'm not organised enough- 4 children keeps me busy enough just with all the housework, shopping etc. The school does a better job in that sense than I would)

I am a SAHM to 5 kids- we homeschool for now too-- although I am thinking about sending a few of them to school for a year to give me a break--we're kinda really driving each other nuts!

I had a long string of really cruddy jobs before I stayed home...my husband still works for the dratted company we both worked for when we met.

I would love with all of my being to go back to the school where I went and get my degree--but that is not gonna happen....I think that if my MIL ever retires and can help fill in unexpected childcare gaps- I'll likely try to work a bit as a doula..I could likely make around $300-900 a month. When my kids are all grown and it won't affect anyone if I am thrown in jail- I 'd really like to apprentice as a CPM.

RIght now I am going through a phase where I am bored outta my mind at home.....
