No.... If you'd played a sport, you'd have done it all the time.
Yeah I was going to say the samething. I do think playing sports when I was younger did prepare me for a lot of situations in college.

I don't think it's weird, it's weird at first.

For example I don't do it with all of my friends but I do it with my sports mates in the changing rooms, it's not really different (inmho)

You are weird. You have weird friends in sports. Very strange!

I read the OP and not all of the thread, but I'm having a little difficulty figuring out why you and your roommate would need to be completely naked around each other unless you have one of those communal showers in your dorm.

When I was in college, one of the dorms I stayed in had one of those communal showers. I usually showered at an hour when it was empty, though there were occasions that I had to do otherwise. Keep your soap up high where you can get to it and take a quick shower and everything should be okay. Another dorm had individual shower stalls which was better.

What I don't get is if you don't have a communal shower, why is there any reason to be naked in the dorm. Down to your underwear? I understand that to change. But if you need to change underpants, don't you also need to take a shower, assuming you have developed country accommodations with hot running water, etc? You aren't in a dorm room that's like a prison cell with a toilet bowl right there by the bed are you? I always took some clothes, underwear, shorts, etc. to the bathroom and hung them up. You can put those things on under a towel, too, if you get the hang of it. Is your roommate one of these guys who doesn't do that and just wears a towel down the hallway to the dorm room?

Hey everyone, I have kind of a silly question. I'm dorming at college and I have an awesome roomate. However, I get a little uneasy getting changed in the room with him and being naked together. I don't know why I feel so uncomfortable. Is it wrong for two people of the same gender to be naked together?

no

Depends on what the purpose is.

I personally think that men who go around naked are nutz!

the cliched nude old man in the locker room comes to mind. With one leg proped up upon the bench and he's trying to converse with you. No thanks weirdo.

Any room mate of mine old or young who ran around disrobed would be taught a lesson or two pronto. I could do it in less than 30 miniutes. Then they would put some clothes on and act like a member of the human race. People need to live like civilized people and not like some native of the wabooba Tribe!

Appropriate nudity is normal. There is nothing sexual about it. When two people who live in the same room and are both dressing...yeah, that is normal nudity. Someone hanging around his home in just his underwear usually falls in the realm of normal...staying that way when guests (not roommate) arrive isn't. Showering is a normal place to be nude...and if it is communal, then it still is "normal". A step further is single sex locker rooms are a place where some levels of undress is acceptable....(it is weirder to trying to keep your clothes dry in the shower area while showering when there is a perfectly good area to get dressed safely by the lockers). The military has plenty of partial nudity situations...and the hospital is a full of various levels of nudity (underwear and bedpans just don't mix).

God made us. Our bodies are His works of art. Everything involving skin does not have to be sexual and if you see it that way, you have a problem.

Exactly what do you define as "civilized"? I'm not sure that state of dress ever crossed into any definition I ever read. And although, there isn't an such thing as a wabooba tribe, are you really suggesting that members of various indigenous tribes are less than human? God made Adam and Eve naked and that is how they lived in the Garden of Eden. We came into the world naked. It was actually through sin our lack of "civilized" behavior that our need for dress came into the world.

If God wants man to wear clothes, then who are you to argue about it. You may love nudity and enjoy the nude body and all its attributes, but you aren't God! You don't make the rules. You may think you do but you are like a lot of people I know, you would like to usurp the psotion of Jehovah God but it won't work. Do a study on Lucifer!

Why don't you put your fig leaves on and join the human race?!!

Nikos, that's quite an accusation you are making there. You might want to think about what you are doing when you make statements like that.

I'm sorry that you are so angry about this topic. I do believe that God does love the human body...He designed in His image. And actually, God didn't dress Adam and Eve the first time...they did it. He just gave them better garments because they were going to be banished. If you can show me in the Bible where I am wrong, I am more than happy to listen.

And actually, it is a good thing that I'm not afraid of the naked body because I am a nurse. My responsibilities include cleaning and caring for parts of the body that sick and elderly people can not care for themselves. If I were not able to do this, these people would get sick and die and loose any semblance of human dignity...simple as that.

And I don't try to make any rules...I don't have that kind of power and don't even wish I did. I have chosen a career where I serve people...often in their most humbling circumstances. Unless you are lucky enough to die young and healthy, you may be grateful one day that the human body does not repulse or scare people like me.

Gen 1:

27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
