  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, whose Breath gives life to all the world. Hear me; I need your strength and wisdom.

O Great Spirit of the North, who gives wings to the waters of the air and rolls the thick snowstorm before Thee,
O Great Spirit of the East, the land of the rising Sun, Who holds in Your right hand the years of our lives
O Great Spirit of the South, whose warm breath of compassion melts the ice that gathers round our hearts,
O Great Spirit of the West, the land of the setting Sun, with Your soaring mountains and free,

Quote:
Ezekiel 37:9 Also He saying to me, "Prophesy! to the breath/07307 ruwach. Prophesy!, Son of 'Adam, and you say to the breath/07307 ruwach, 'Thus He says the Lord of me, YHWH: "From Four of Winds/07307 ruwach, come! the Breath/07307 ruwach, and breathe/blow/05301 naphach in the ones slain, the-these and they shall live." Yeah, especialy if you wear socks with 'em & they're Birkenstocks, but if you carry a staff, you have to check it at the door.
 Moses never had to check his staff at the door!!!!:D

Reve 12:5 And she brought forth a Son, a male, who is about to be Shepherding all the nations in rod/staff, iron.
And is caught-away the child of her toward the God, and toward the throne of Him.

Another "guarantee" that you will perhaps never grasp is that eventually we will all reflect DIFFERENTLY down to the LAST MAN...and again, WHY there is DIVISION.

Why? Because there are evil people like Martin Luther and the Arians who sew division among christians. As we see in Martin Luthers writings he was a very prideful man, so prideful that he thought he had the authority and audacity to remove books from the bible(Calling James an "epistle of Straw". As Jesus said, a divided kingdom cannot stand. At least the Catholic Church has a firm hold on its faith, whereas protestants are so conflicting and divided that there is no way you can find an absolute level of truth because of the errored conflicting interperatations of so many preachers.

I think people should read Luthers letter to his mother on his regret for what he did. Because at the end he had regrets'

Here is a wonderful video on what protestantism has caused and how conflicting it is.

Good one Terry!
Should I post my all priests are pedophiles video NOW?
No need, just post historical references to the inquisition.

Actually, it's probably best to just continue to just state Scripture and refute the many false teachings of the vatican.

I find the errors of the Roman Church WAY to numerous to expound on.
By far the biggest is that there interest is NOT in tending the Shepherds sheep, rather to silence them for example in the dealings with all the SEX abuse cases.
Silencing the sheep kinda like a wolf does.

Some of us have tried that and it didn't work too well :) Ever try to debate Messianics on the Bible?

We can't force people to accept the truth. It's up to Him to do the work.

Big stinkin' deal.

Rome is the "headquarters" of the Roman Catholic Church (ok fine, Vatican City). The RCC, like any other Church, faith, group or even cult; is made up of people. People, due to the fall of Man, have this nasty tendency to fall into temptation and sin, make mistakes and even make a bad call or two.

Oh well. We are all humans on this rock floating around in space. We all sin, don't even try denying it, in some way, shape or form. We all make whatever Church or organization it is that we are a part of.

So what if some pope made a boo-boo back in the 15th century. Be like Christ and forgive him. I think that Pope John Paul II did the best thing in 1981 by forgiving Ali Agca instead of saying "to that gallows with ye!" like many Protestants make the pope out to be.

Get over it. There are errors within Rome and I'm sure that there are just as many in your own backyard.

:)

Get over the gates of hell prevailing?
You realize that is what is (typicaly) equated with an error in teaching, your imperial highness?

Rick you know that there is a defined teaching which is considered from God or through the Apostles which is unchanging and inerrant.

And it has always been preached that men are fallible. The only time this is seemingly "contradicted" is when a Pope is defining something from the Chair of Peter and that is because it is from God or through the Apostolic Tradition and so it cannot be fallible.

:amen:  ! We'd better be thinking about how we're going to answer Jesus when he asks us about our own. We are to forgive others for what they have done, as Christ Himself pointed out in the Gospels in at least 4 places. He says if we do not forgive others their sins, the Father does not forgive us ours. Also, both the Lord's Prayer ("Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us") and the Beatitudes ("Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy") reiterate the same thing. God is the ultimate parent--He knows that sometimes you have to give your kids some negative incentive to do the right things--like, if you don't forgive or show mercy to others, you aren't getting it from me either. I do have to say that I admire Pope John Paul II for forgiving the person that tried to assassinate him. That is what Christ calls for us to do--and to love, pray for, and do good to even our worst enemies. Jesus threw out "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."

Every person and every denomination has committed sins and errors that they will have to take responsibility for and repent for (of course, repentence means taking total responsibility for our sins and errors and turning from them each time we fall into it) these. One of Satan's biggest tricks is to get us focused on the sins and errors of other people instead of concentrating on our own. On Judgment Day, Christ is not going to be sidetracked. He will be focusing on each one of us, and He's not going to let us get away with trying to get sidetracked into discussing other people's sins and errors.
