Robert Mueller Responds to Trump’s Commutation of Roger Stone Sentence: Stone Was No Victim
One day after President Donald Trump’s highly controversial commutation of Roger Stone’s sentence, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller wrote an op-ed in response to the White House’s attack on the Russia investigation. Mueller said that Stone was no victim and that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was no hoax.

Mueller wisely avoided making any direct accusations against Trump, while documenting several attempts by Trump to obstruct the investigation. Each of those is a felony, collectable after Trump leaves office.

And then he pointedly stated that his investigation did not clear Trump of criminal liability.

No what he did was imply that there was a crime that he had no evidence to support. I understand that he may be called as a witness in the senate investigation, I would expect him to give a lot of I do not recall answers if he is called. It is going to become clear just how far out of line the investigation that he conducted was.

Sorry, you've been misled...

It outlined actions by Trump that may have amounted to obstruction of justice and concluded: “While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Mueller also concluded he did not have the power to charge Trump even if he thought it was warranted.

Robert Mueller breaks his silence and condemns Trump for commuting Roger Stone's sentence

This is why Trump really, really, really needs to be re-elected. It's not just federal charges, either. The AG of New York is waiting, and now has the Supreme Court's go-ahead to get his tax returns and financial records.

Here is the only important fact "While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime" all the rest of what you posted is unsupported innuendo, it is a cheap shot attempt to appease the Dems and the msm. Most people know the difference between fact and innuendo.

Trying to make the report say something that it does not say is a waste of your time.

Nope. Mueller carefully documented each case wherein Trump attempted to obstruct the investigation. And he pointedly declared that although he was following directives not to indict a sitting president, his investigation did not clear Trump of wrongdoing.

it is a cheap shot attempt to appease the Dems and the msm. Most people know the difference between fact and innuendo.

That will all be sorted out when Trump leaves office.

That is a quote from Mueller. It's precisely what he said.

Mueller pointed out that he was not permitted to indict Trump. He did what he could, given his orders. He documented the times when Trump attempted to obstruct his investigation (each one a felony) and pointed out that the report does not in any way clear Trump of criminal conduct.

Trump will have his day in court. That will wait until he leaves office.

now ask just one simple question, if Trump tried to obstruct the investigation why did Mueller say he did not interfere with the investigation in any way

WASHINGTON — To thwart a federal investigation of Russian efforts to help him win the White House, President Donald Trump fired the FBI director, ordered an aide to fire special counsel Robert Mueller and urged associates to pressure the attorney general to curb the inquiry.

From the first months of his administration, Trump pushed repeatedly to limit the inquiry into Russian interference with the 2016 election that began with the FBI and continued under Mueller. His attempts to block or curb the inquiry that he worried could tarnish his presidency are detailed in Mueller's final report on his 22-month investigation, released Thursday by the Justice Department.

Mueller report: Trump tried to impede Russia probe. Was it obstruction?

The report also detailed steps by the president and those around him to thwart the investigation that shadowed the first two years of his administration. Mueller’s office did not conclude that Trump's actions were illegal, but also pointedly refused to clear him of wrongdoing, stating "if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the president clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state.”

An attempt to obstruct an investigation is also a felony. And Mueller carefully documented each attempt. That is what is waiting for Trump to leave office.

OK so where are the indictments for obstruction? Now either Mueller is obstructing justice by not changing Trump or there is no obstruction, you cannot have it both ways.

It's DOJ policy, you can't indict a sitting president. This means a sitting president can commit a crime but cannot be formally charged with committing a crime.
