  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Catching up--

Prayer request

As some of you know, my job is being phased out and the work is moving to Ohio. I haven't been given my notice yet, but have started to test the waters on a job search. (I have been at the same company for 30 years. Many different positions.)

At 6pm tonight I have my second phone interview for a position that I am interested in. If all goes well, I will have the interview at the office the week after.

If you think about it, could you keep me in prayer that if this is the right position for me that all will go well.

Still working on the interview outfit. Got the suit, still need the shoes and bag.

Rosey, I will pray for you.

:hug::hug::hug: and lots of :prayer::prayer: coming your way. My husband has given his retirement notice and will be working his last day on 2/29. As much as we look forward to it, we're both a little frightened since he's been with his company more than 30 years and change of ANY kind is tough. I reallllllly wish you well and will pray, pray, pray.

Valentine, I will be praying for both of you, too.

I bought a Dyson a couple years ago. It is not as light as an Oreck but does a good job and doesn't require bags....I like that. In my past life (almost 30 yrs ago) I sold Kirby vacuums :) great machines but heavy and expensive

I have been unmotivated as well regarding dinner. Both my wife and I are/were professional chefs, and we take turns cooking. I made a tortilla soup the other day, but overall the motivation has been lacking.

reps to the unmotivated cooks

LOL, I should ask for some of those reps. Having been married 36 years, I admit, it is so much more exciting when my husband cooks. He has this gift for combining tastes and textures. :) But, alas, he is usually too busy to cook. :(

However, on a brighter note, I love Thai food and have been teaching myself to cook that. :) I think it's the challenge of something new and different that helps--

The only downfall about the Dyson is the price tag

I bet. I am going to go look at a few today and price them. What I really, really, really want is a food processor. My sister gave me her old one and I used it till it died. I burned up the motor on my blender last weekend....any advice on food processors? Right now, my thoughts are large capacity. I am trying to decide between Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart. I just hate spending $200 on one but if it will last, over time, it is worth it. I guess.

CC&E-who thinks her husband should buy her a food processor for their 21st anniversary TOMORROW.

WOW -- I took some classes at the Santa Fe school of cooking and LOVED IT. I wish I'd gone to culinary school too. I LOVE to cook, but the humdrum every day stuff that comes along with cooking 3 meals a day gets very, very dreary. We eat almost NO red meat, but enjoy fish, chicken and occasionally turkey. Since its been months and months with no red meat, I'm wondering, what time is dinner?

Oh, and CC&C: I recently bought a new Hoover that is light weight since I have a nerve problem in my hands and wrists. I'm trying to clean out a closet upstairs to stick a vacuum cleaner so I don't have to haul one up/down the steps. I bought a reallllllly cheap Dirt Devil for downstairs, but haven't found the time to clean out a closet for the Hoover upstairs. I'd have to quit begging reps for the closet cleaning to happen and we can't have that now can we??? :swoon:

OH MY! I lived in ABQ for a couple of years and I would love to be able to make some of the local dishes. YUM. I'm thinking Gardunos...

We have a Cuisinart 7 cup food processor. It handles most normal kitchen jobs that I have, but they have a 14 cup model if you desire something bigger. The only drawback I have noticed is most of the parts are plastic so care must be taken or things get broken. I broke the back latch and now I have to hold it in place and liquids still squirt out. I have had a couple Cuisinarts and never had a motor issue. I have never used a Kitchen Aid food processor.

Here is a beautiful looking Cuisinart, although it comes from Williams-Sonoma. Great store but a little bit on the pricey side.

I like the Kitchen aid mixers. One can buy attachments to grind meat or make fresh pasta.
