  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you actually being serious?? David's motivation for writing that Psalm doesn't mean that every passage in it is a reference to David killing Uriah to get Bathsheba. David did NOT do those things while he was in the womb. The only conclusion I can come to when reading statements like that is that either you're unable to be reasonable or you're unwilling to be reasonable. Either way, I don't think I can help you any further.

it says the sin was committed by the mother at conception and the unborn brought up in iniquity, not sin.
it sounds more like its talking about David and Bathsheba who were sinful, the bible is silent on any sinful acts committed by Davids parents.
i could be wrong but thats how i see it.

There seems to be agreement among Bible authorities that iniquity means serious guilt or guilt that's deserving of punishment. That's why pushing everything off onto the mother seems questionable.
