I'm trying to decide what to read this lent. Can anyone recommend any books that you've read please?
I heard the bible has some good stories in it.

I found a "read through the Bible in a year" arranged for the OSB, but I'm already about 17 days behind for the year.

I had heard something about that...actually ...there are some new(well new to me) stories I haven't read yet in the new/old OSB.I heard the bible has some good stories in it.
Fr. Seraphim Rose read St. Augustine's Confessions every year during Lent -- must be a pretty good Lenten read. I have yet to get to it.

My husband who was a philosophy major, and whose patron saint just happens to be St. Augustinesaid that the idea is to give something up for lent, not to be tortured. He said unless you can read it in the original Latin it loses something in translation and is a hard read. Nonetheless it is on my list of books to read before I die.
Great Lent by Fr Alexander Schmemann
Where did you find this? Was it for old and new or just new?
