  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Rapture? What's that?

You still have not dealt with the judgment of the nations at His return, which is found at the end of Matthew chapter 25.

.

The judgments of the nations when the Lord returns is of those nations of people alive on the earth. Those that looked after the Jews, Jesus` brethren, go into the millennial reign of Christ. Those that didn`t look after the Jews during the trib, will die and at the great white throne they will be taken away into everlasting punishment.

The scripture just jumps to their conclusion. Just as scripture jumped in Isa. 61: 3 concerning the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance. There is a large space between those events.

We always need to read all the scriptures of a topic not just one.

regards, Marilyn.

Hi Marilyn,

Isaiah 35:9
"No lion shall be there..."

Isaiah 65:25
"... the lion shall eat straw like the bullock..."

How does no lion eat straw like the bullock?

Hi jgr,

Good question there bro. Good find. Well as we read that chapter (Isa. 35) we see that it is in Israel and the road to Jerusalem. As the glory of the Lord is shining forth over the land of Israel also then it is called `the Highway of Holiness,` for people are travelling to Jerusalem to learn of God`s ways and worship the Lord. Thus no lion or any ravenous beast shall `go up on it.`

regards, Marilyn.

Marilyn,

I'm wondering where the lions are.

If they're harmless, why are they prohibited, on the way of holiness?

So are they, and the wolf, and other ravenous beasts, present in Jerusalem?

Hi jgr,

Remember during the trib, that wild beasts will roam the earth, as cities will fall from the great earthquake and zoos etc will be devastated also.

`...there was a great earthquake....and the cities of the nations fell...(Rev. 16: 18 & 19)

`And power was given them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and BY THE BEASTS OF THE EARTH.` (Rev. 6: 8)

Wild animals will roam the earth in the millennium, but not on the Highway of Holiness or on God`s Holy mountain as God`s glory will be there. If `wild` animals do venture onto God`s Holy mountain then they will not harm, as God`s word says.

regards, Marilyn.

Hope that helps, Marilyn.

Hi Marilyn,

Some animal allegories:

Genesis 49:9
Judah is a lion's whelp...

Genesis 49:14
Issachar is a strong ass...

Genesis 49:17
Dan shall be a serpent by the way...

Genesis 49:21
Naphtali is a hind let loose...

Exodus 19:4
Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.

Isaiah 65:25
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock...

Jeremiah 5:6
...a leopard shall watch over their cities...

John 10:7
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Philippians 3:2
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 25:33
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Luke 13:32
And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected

You still have not dealt with the judgment of the nations at His return, which is found at the end of Matthew chapter 25.
Matthew 25:46 They will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous will enter Eternal life.
This can only happen at the Great White Throne Judgement. Revelation 20:11-15 The righteous, all the faithful Christians and even the resurrected martyrs. Revelation 20:4, do not receive immortality at the Return of Jesus. Only after the Millennium, will Death be no more. Revelation 21:1-7

The gathering and Judgment of the nations in Matthew 25:31-34, is what is described in Revelation 16:13-16, they are mustered for the Battle of Armageddon, where Jesus will kill them all by the Sword of His Word. Revelation 19:21 Then, 1000 years later, they will stand, along with every person who has ever lived at the GWT Judgement and as their names will not be found in the Book of Life: it will be the Lake of fire for them.
Not any lion laying down with the lamb in your version...
We simply are not given much information about the Millennium period. I see the lion laying down with the lamb, as metaphorical for that time being safe and peaceful.

The judgment found in Matthew 25:31-46 is the judgment found at the end of Revelation chapter 20.

2Ti 4:1  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Revelation 20 is filled with symbols.
Is the chain made of steel, or is it made of the blood of Christ?
Is the pit a real hole in the ground with a steel lid or is it hell?

The 1,000 years is a symbolic number, just as it is in Psa 50:10.
It represents the present "Church Age".
Our name is written in the Book of Life.
The Book of Life is used in the judgment at the end of Revelation chapter 20.

Matthew 25:31-46 and 2 Timothy 4:1 and Revelation 11:18 kill the premill viewpoint.
The only way the premill viewpoint works is by either redefining or ignoring these passages.

The first resurrection in John chapter 5 is found in John 5:24.
The second resurrection in John chapter 5 is found in John 5:27-30.
The same man recorded Revelation chapter 20.
