You do realize that those are two very different questions, right?

Evolution is not equal to the start of life nor does it explain where life came from (although it does falsify some ideas related to the start of life. Evolution explains the diversity of life.

Evolution is not equal to the beginning of the universe.

So, are you really asking three questions or do you think you are asking one but in three different ways?

Just curious.

Do most or all atheists believe in evolution?
Not all. Probably most.

How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?

Thanks.
Most will probably take the scientific position in this. Regarding both questions this will depend a bit on who you speak to. Quite a number will probably state that we don't know yet, but there are some plausible theories to be found in inflationary cosmology and abiogenesis.

Do most or all atheists believe in evolution?
I'll go out on a limb and say, yes, most do.

How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?
Through a number of processes, which we are still learning about. Hint: Not all of them fall under the umbrella of evolution.

Do most or all atheists believe in evolution?
I would have to say the vast majority do.

How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?
I would have to say the universe is a eternal structure or possibly a temporary structure built in an unconceivable something by principles of logic.

I'm not certain if I can rule out that the unconceivable something is a god or not. Although I'm certain it's not the Christian god.

Of course, there's nothing inconsistent about believing in evolution and believing in God (and, most precisely, believing in a God who created evolution, which conserves energy over wholesale creation of diverse, fully evolved forms)!!

Do most or all atheists believe in evolution?
Most. Just as most Christians accept evolution. Yes, there are some atheists who don't accept evolution, but the only group that I'm aware of consists of Raelians. They believe that a race of scientifically advanced humanoid extraterrestrials created all life on earth, including humans, using DNA manipulation and genetic engineering.

How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?
Like theists, atheists generally accept the Big Bang theory as an accurate, tentative explanation. Beyond that, who knows? People have all sorts of claims regarding the origin of the universe and the origin of life. Even though most atheists probably accept the mainstream scientific models, people have their opinions, and as long as they don't involve a deity, there's nothing preventing one from being an atheist and holding such views.

One alternative scientific theory to the Big Bang was steady state cosmology, where new matter is created as the universe expands, so functionally, there is no beginning or end of the universe. It's chief proponent, Fred Hoyle, was indeed an atheist, but this theory declined dramatically after the discovery of cosmic background radiation in 1965.

Panspermia, the idea that the Earth was seeded by life that formed elsewhere, has also been advanced.

Most do, yes.

The universe? I don't know.

Life? Likely chemistry, though the question is open as yet. Still, it seems the most plausible.

While one could argue that we were created by non-supernatural alien beings, something would have to explain where the aliens came from. Evolution is the only theory that explains the development of complex organisms without invoking some supernatural process.
How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?
There are numerous specific theories to choose from but they could all be categorized as some combination of random chance and natural processes.
You're welcome.

I agreed with evolution before I gave up belief in a god.

The beginning of the universe fascinates and confuses me greatly. Sure, I could say that everything was created by some supreme being but, ultimately, that solves nothing. Just thinking about it boggles the mind.. infinite universe.. when/how did it start.. I don't think we ever will know, but we have a faint idea.

The beginning of life is a different question, really. Even if there is/are a god(s), it didn't neccessarily create life as we know it. It could have set things in motion then moved on or w/e. Personally, I lean toward abiogenesis.

Whether Atheist or not, most people accept evolution, they do not believe it.

Acceptance is based on available evidence. Belief is based on emotion.

As to the other two question, I also have no beliefs, in fact, they would best be answered by I don't know.

1) Do most or all atheists believe in evolution?

Couldn't say. However i think personally that atheism is a position based on a desire to know the unvarnished truth. As evolution is the best explanation we have for the moment, i'd wager most do.

2) How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?

I believe the universe and everything in it came about as the inevitable consequence of the way the universe began.

I don't think anyone really has a belief in how the universe or life was created. Saying God created the universe is not a belief in how it came into being. It is a belief that someone was responsible. Similiarly saying that your car was created by the lads in the Ford motor company is not an explanation of how the car was made.

Did these aliens, by any chance, come through the Stargate?

Sorry, it's just that this is the first I've heard of these guys. And one must admit that this theory sounds like something out of a certain sci-fi show.

They endorsed ID a while back, plus the annual human cloning claim. That's the only reason I know of them. Pretty much your garden variety UFO religion, but the only atheist group I know of that is against evolution.

Oh, and they call the aliens Elohim, so the Stargate joke probably isn't far off.

Evolutionists seem to believe that life first started by abiogenesis. But this thoery was disproven by Francesco Redi and Louis Pasteur.

Nope, that is incorrect. Redi and Pasteur disproved spontaneous generation which is not the same as the proposed theories of abiogenesis.

Look jamie, it's becoming very apparent that you are not getting your information from reliable sources. May I suggest that you request from other posters some suitable links that will get you up to speed on our current ongoing research into abiogenesis. I know there are a couple of posters on this board who are keeping track of current research in that area.

Not exactly the same thing.

Okay, now am I curious: Is the OP genuine in asking for info or is the next post going to be about the second law of the thermodynamics?

I agree with the scientific consensus regarding the evolution of life. And gravity. And atoms.
2) How do atheists believe the universe and all life on earth came into being?
I dunno about the universe, but life seems to be the result of natural chemical processes.
