• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Thank you so much for the prayers for Andrew! I am praying he will have another, "fabulous" day! It makes my heart so happy when he is doing well!

No, no foods in particular are causing the vomiting. I really have no idea what is.

Off to get Andrew ready for school and myself ready for my doctor's appt. Praying I can get some answers. Holding all of you here in prayer too!

Thank you Criada and rowantree for the prayers! I am praying Andrew has an awesome day at school and that the Lord keeps him safe!

I just got back from the doctor and she is setting up an endoscopy for me. She also heard rattling in my lungs and put me on a steriod inhaler and cough syrup. Maybe, just maybe it will help me sleep!

Hi Court. I am so pleased that the doc set up the endoscopy for you. It can't be nice having to put up with vomiting. Also good that she gave you the inhaler and cough syrup - yay, let's hope it helps you to sleep.

I guess the meds were not mentioned? How are you doing re the meds and the depression?

Will continue to pray and be here for you. Now you've got the MIL to get ready for - oh my goodness. I feel for you . God bless you Court, and precious Andrew too. xx

Hi rowantree! The Abilify withdrawl was mentioned and she wants me to talk to my psychiatrist about it and the depression. Now, I just need to find a way to get to my psychiatrist.... (We live in the boonies and he is in town ...about 1/2 hour from us... and I don't do well driving on the freeway. Need my husband or sister to take me but they are both overwhelmed at work).

Yes, the MIL! My house is a mess and I am supposed to do some volunteer work tomorrow, so Thursday before she gets here I will have to clean like a crazy woman!

Still praying for you too!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad the doc is doing something - praying that the inhaler and cough syrup do enable you to get some sleep

I sympathise with the MIL issue - when my mother comes to stay it involves a huge house clean and usually several panic attacks. I know I don't do this myself, but try to remember that it really isn't important to have everything perfect - looking after yourself and Andrew is the priority. (Isn't is funny how easy it is to give other people advice and how hard it is to follow it yourself!)

Praying for you, Court, for sleep, peace, and enough time to do everything you need to without panicking

Laughing only because I too find it easier to give advice than to follow it! :) This time I am so sick I think I will HAVE to just let some of the cleaning slide because I physically just can't do it all.

Andrew had another "fabulous" (his word, not mine!) day at school today and is feeling much better. I really appreciate you guys praying for him.

Thank you for the hugs and encouragement, and yes, Criada, I pray I can sleep tonight now that I have the "right" medication. I am already coughing much less which is a relief!

Hubby is working another late night tonight so it's just Andrew and I.

I love you guys! Thanks for caring and thanks for praying!

Well, another day is upon us and Andrew is safely at school. I will be going to see him later at lunch today and then to help his teacher some. I am feeling really lousy, but I know Andrew has his heart set on seeing me today as I go every Wednesday to see him and help out. I can't break his heart so I will be there.

I just got a call from my doctor's nurse and she informed me that I should not be around my mother in law for the next 3-5 days as I am still contagious. I had mentioned to my doctor yesterday that my MIL was coming to visit and she has COPD. I guess she thought about it and called me. Now I need to call my MIL and tell her, but I have a strong feeling she will come out anyway.

I hope each and every one of you is doing well. I hold you in my prayers. I am thankful for yours! God bless!

Hi there Court. Oh wow - about your mother in law and the COPD and what the nurse said! I am sad that your MIL will not probably listen and will still come. That is too bad. I will be praying of course, as I know this will be a really difficult time for you. I would hate for my mother to come to actually stay with us - for the reasons I have already given. She too is full of all sorts of "stuff" - and casts a horrible atmosphere all around her, if you see what I mean.

I understand how you don't feel well enough to clean, Court. I would not worry too much about that. You should see our house LOL. I know you always feel you have to make a special effort if someone is coming to stay, and years ago I would have done the same. Now, I just say if they don't like it, then too bad - they have to take us as they find us now. I know you will feel that you ought to have done it, but really, don't worry too much Court. Anyone can get ill. Don't put your own health at risk.

I hope that you managed to get to see Andrew at lunchtime today. Bless him. I have such a sweet picture in my mind of you and him. I am so glad that you have him. What a blessing. And how blessed he is to have a mom like you.

I am praying that you feel better soon Court. This has been such a trial for you. Still here to listen and to encourage.

Thankyou for your prayers for us too, Court. You are so kind. This is so much appreciated. You are one very special person.

Take care of yourself and that lovely little boy, and know that we are praying and still here for you. xx

Hi Court. Is this "THE " day? The MIL day? I will double my praying efforts LOL.

Seriously - I know this is going to be a real trial for you. I am just pleased that at least Andrew is feeling so much better and having "fabulous" days at school. This is a real blessing. So often kids hate school and often with good reason. At least he is happy there. I pray that they don't give him stuff he shouldn't have, like sugars etc. Praying that they have listened to you and that you don't have to face that hurdle again.

How are you feeling yourself, today? I hope that with the good medicine you are feeling a little bit better.

Yay, I too hope and pray the MIL does not get ill whilst she is with you. You can do without that. Aren't some mothers and MILs just SOOOOO stubborn and self centred?

Anyway, let us know how you are doing when you can - we are still here for you. Praying for some good things for you Court - and for precious Andrew too.

God bless you precious sister. xx

I wonder how many saints have managed to multitask as variously, intensively and under such a welter of constraints and stresses as you, Court. It can only be God's grace and your receptiveness.

I fear you'll be levitating soon, and will have difficulty reaching your keyboard. You'll have to grow longer toes, and train them, I reckon.

I love you guys! :) Yes, today is MIL day...She gets in in the afternoon so I will spend all day cleaning! I know you are right rowantree about letting some of it slide... I will have to. I did not sleep well at all last night. I am very tired.

Just praying my little guy has a great day in school today and that he stays safe. As silly as it sounds I am worried about him for tomorrow as his regular teacher won't be at school and he will have a subsitute. I worry about someone else watching him...and we are supposed to have lots of rain, a temperature drop and thunderstorms. I just want him to be safe!

Anyway - off to do what I can about this messy house. Thanks again for your encouragement and prayers!

I won't say have fun LOL.

Praying that Andrew is safe tomorrow at school. Bit scary getting a substitute teacher isn't it. I am sure he will be OK but understand your worries.

Oh dear - MIL day willk require double if not treble prayers !!!! You got 'em gal.

Hope you are feeling a bit better anyway, and praying still about the depression too.

You deserve a medal Court. Take care of yourself as much as you can, and know that we are with you. Much love and many hugs. xx

Praying very hard today, sweetie.
Whatever your MIL says or does, hang on to the fact that God is on your side, and you're coping so very well with everything.
Praying that Andrew likes the substitute teacher - he'll be safe sweetie, schools check people out very carefully before they let them take charge of a class.
