No, I can't agree with that. Being antheist is a belief that God does not exist.
No, you are wrong. There is one logically indefensible
variant of atheism called "Strong Atheism" that believes God does not exist.
This is a
universal negative and cannot be defended.
Atheism, in it's more logically defensible position, of
weak atheism says there is so far no reason to believe God exists, but does not make a universal negative statement.
This is an important subtlety and one that we atheists on the board seem to have to bring up over and over again.
That's because most Christians don't
bother to try to understand atheism to the same level as the atheists have spent trying to understand Christianity.
Since many of us were former Christians or religious people ourselves, we have taken the time to become familiar with religious thought.
You may wish to do so as well. There are a number of resources available to you on the internet.
We are not born with beliefs.
But we
are born with the tendency to try to draw connections as "explanatory and predictive tools", so we are prone to develop superstitions and religion as a means of explaining that which we don't understand.
We are born atheist in that no evidence is ever provided that would prove the existence of God, let alone one god over another, and hence we end up with one planet full of a wide variety of often mutually-exclusive "Absolute Truths".
