Quite far from imaginative, I only spoke on what it says in the Bible. You should really consider taking a listen, there's no imagination involved ;)
Which Bible would that be as I have never come across your perspective from within any of the maybe 70 versions that I have. Considering that I also own 14 contemporary commentaries on First Corinthians with maybe about another 20 or so other books on Corinthians then you have me at a definite disadvantage - what have I been missing all these years! Could you maybe point me to a reputable published source for your material?

You do and do you understand what you are supposedly saying? Why would God want you to utter Gibberish when it is of no use to you? What purpose does it serve? Makes you feel all fuzzy?
About all that I can recommend that you do is to go back and read through 1 Corinthians 14 where even Paul greatly values being able to pray in the Spirit (tongues), he even says that he is thankful that he prays more in Angelic tongues to the Father than the rest of us can do.

I realise that you pray to 'Mary' but for those of us who can pray to the Father in the Spirit this undoubtedly gives us an advantage so to speak over those who can only pray with the mind directly to the Father.

In verses 21-22 he is connecting the untranslated/unarticulated use of tongues with the voices and commands of the Syrian invaders who captured Jerusalem and took the Jews prisoner. As the Jews could not understand the commands that they were being given, this would have angered the invading soldiers who more often than not would have used the sword to punish those who did not obey them.

Exactly. The foreign invaders were speaking foreign human languages, not the language of angels. After quoting Isaiah's prophecy, Paul then applies it to Corinthian tongues. When people speak in foreign languages amongst the unbelieving Jews it would be seen as a sign of judgement against them, just as it was in Isaiah's time.

You have not quoted in context.

You 'think' you are praying in 'tongues' but in reality you have no clue what you are saying! Its just gibberish! For all you know, the devil could be manipulating you!

Yeah, a fair bit.
1 Corinthians 14:4 "A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally"

I've never received a word of knowledge or wisdom while praying in tongues. I worship God with tongues and it gives me peace/confidence/strength to go about my daily life "above" the troubles/problems that the world throws my way.

It's good to hunger for spiritual gifts, keep going!

Just remember love is the key to every spiritual gift.

You are awesome.

Thing is, you wouldn't know if you had received any words of wisdom as its all in gibberish!!!

Could someone please write something here in tongues? Should be pretty easy to transfer it to text.

I ask so I can try to get it interpreted, and try to understand what, to me, at this point anyway, are people just trying to feel holy, or even look holy, when to me, it has just the opposite affect because I can't understand a thing they're saying.

So, won't you please help me to convince myself there is really something to this?

No answer to that as they will not be able to give you anything!

Speaking in tongues is not of God. It was with the Apostles, but all these people wailing and screaming etc are just full of the devil as far as i am concerned. Jesus said:

Matthew 6:5-6
5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

When I read the first two lines I was beginning to think that you had understood the purpose of Paul's use of Isa 28 where he connected the problem (along with its unintended consequences) with the unintelligibility of the language of the Assyrians with that of the New Covenant use of unintelligible tongues; but then, on line three, you changed the thrust of Paul's admonition by connecting Angelic tongues with that of known human languages. In addition it seems that you have also misunderstood (maybe by choice) why the unarticulated application of unintelligible tongues can unintentionally serve as a tool of judgement to those who do not understand the things of the Spirit.

How can anyone write down words that are given by the Holy Spirit to the Father in unintelligible sounds? As they are always unintelligible to the one who is speaking and to everyone else then trying to write them down is a bit of a waste of time.

I wonder what chance the 120 would have had on the Day of Pentecost if the nearby Jews had asked them to write down what they were saying to the Father, when the 120 unsophisticated and rustic Galileans probably did not even realise they were praising God in known human languages until the crowd told them so.

How do you know they are 'Angelic Tongues?' Especially if you have no clue what you or others are uttering?

How interesting, particularly as you pray to dead people and to a false image of Mary. I can understand that you are desperate to support your idolotrous practices but referring to Pentecostals and charismatics as being "full of the devil" is a remark that belongs in the gutter - you should be ashamed of yourself.

I don't do it to receive words of wisdom though. I do it to commune with God and be strengthened. If someone listening can interpret what I'm saying, great! If not, the goal is still achieved. I've found it very helpful for my spiritual confidence in places of great skepticism and doubt, where the spirit that rules the air is faithless. Speaking in tongues enables the strength of God to give me boldness. This is my experience.

Then sorry but you could be saying any old gibberish as far as i am concerned. Why the need to say this when God can quite easily understand your 'normal' language?
Well I am saying "any old jibberish" haha. You see, it's not about what I say, but about communing with God spirit to Spirit.

Not ashamed as that is how i see it. Much like how you see us Catholics and our belief in Mary, Our Holy Mother!
