Let me repeat:

I didnt meet any prophets in our churches...

what I have met is deception and lie. God is going to judge these

false prophets who say desires of their hearts on behalf of God.

So, I do not believe that the Spirit of God gives today gifts of prophecies

and tongues as He gave them in the early Church.

Moreover there is no need for such prophecies today.

I will explain you what I think.

My point is:

1. Everything is said. There is no need for any new prophecies.

What is new it is not true. There is nothing new in the Bible.

If you need a prophecy, open the Bible and you will see how God talks to

you THROUGH the words of the Bible uttered by Him and written in the Bible already.

2. God does not talk to people DIRECTLY and in audible voice today as to Moses or Isaiah or Daniel..or other prophets.

Why? God talked to Moses and prophets DIRECTLY, after this communication with God, the prophets went to Israel and communicated/gave them

what God said.

So, today God told us everything. There is no need for any NEW prophecies to be uttered by average christians or even pastors.

3. If a christian claims that God talked to him directly and said something then any claim of such christian

on behalf of God will be judged by Him. You know that already. Moreover, our madhouses are full of patients who claim that they constantly talk to 'god' or hear voices

in head.

Do you remember how God warns that any false prophet will be punished by death in the Lake of Fire because they say what God didnt say and

they share their desires/dreams what God didnt utter (Jeremiah). I will you some references:

This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.

Jeremiah 23

I saw so much madness in our Churches when people spoke in such "tongues" and uttered FALSE prophecies which God did NOT speak.

All of these people will NEVER inherit the Kingdom of God.

Because they say what God does NOT speak and utter words on behalf of God!

God WARNED about that in the Holy Scripture.

That is why ALL who speak in "tongues" PONDER and consider this issue!

(1) I hope you will have a chance to read what is said in the message below.
I don’t know who Dave Stevens is but having read through a few paragraphs by this very sad individual I have to wonder if he belongs to the Westboro Baptists. Once I realised that his worldview was based on a very austere form of Calvinism, where man is little more than a puppet in a giant puppet show, I would sooner leave his cold fatalism to the world that I left behind once I was Born Again.

How any supposed Believer could denigrate how a Believer is encouraged by the Word to regularly communicate with his or her Father absolutely staggers me. Even though I could only read through a portion of this very sad individuals ramblings, I read enough to realise that for whatever reason he obviously has something against the Father which he desperately needs to address - from the tone of his writings, it could very well be too late for him.

Have you ever been inside a Pentecostal/charismatic church or were you told to leave?

Of course.
We all should use our minds and we should no believe everything what people say. Everything should be checked according to what the Bible says. We do this in this thread.
And I explain here how God will hold us accountable for everything what we ascribe to Him...
Read. Check. And get ready for His Judgement. The Judgement starts here already...

Okay . . . but may I suggest that you keep away from possible lightning strikes; unless of course you have been predestined to be whacked!!

Why the Judgement starts today already?
Because we have to judge the internal.

3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? 6 But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!

The Bible’s command that we should show discernment. Immediately after Jesus says, “Do not judge,” He says, “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs” (Matthew 7:6). A little later in the same sermon, He says, “Watch out for false prophets. . . . By their fruit you will recognize them” (verses 15–16). How are we to discern who are the “dogs” and “pigs” and “false prophets” unless we have the ability to make a judgment call on doctrines and deeds? Jesus is giving us permission to tell right from wrong.

The Bible clearly teaches that truth is objective, eternal, and inseparable from God’s character. Anything that contradicts the truth is a lie—but, of course, to call something a “lie” is to pass judgment. To call adultery or murder a sin is likewise to pass judgment—but it’s also to agree with God. When Jesus said not to judge others, He did not mean that no one can identify sin for what it is, based on God’s definition of sin.

The Bible has a whole book entitled Judges. The judges in the Old Testament were raised up by God Himself (Judges 2:18).. in the NT all christians are JUDGES. The modern judicial system, including its judges, is a necessary part of society.

Jesus commends “right judgment” (John 7:24, ESV). We are to be discerning (Colossians 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). We are to preach the whole counsel of God, including the Bible’s teaching on sin (Acts 20:27; 2 Timothy 4:2). We are to confront erring brothers or sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:1). We are to practice church discipline (Matthew 18:15–17).

As you seem either unwilling or unable to engage in conversation, other than by pasting copious amounts of passages about judgment, might I suggest that you go over to the Scary Snowman as it seems that you need to lighten up a bit - hardcore Calvinism has a tendency to make people a bit grumpy and full of judgment, so try a smile and dance your day away!

Destructive Doctrines

2 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you (CHRISTIANS), who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord (the GOD JESUS) who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

Doom of False Teachers

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— 9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh (LIVING IN SINS) in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, 11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

Depravity of False Teachers

12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you (CHRISTIANS), 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet.

17 These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

Deceptions of False Teachers

18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

My Christian brother told me:

Excellent responses to this heretic who believes Jesus appears to him and gives him messages which add words or take words away from God's completed Word.

God's Word claims that Jesus must remain in Heaven until His Second Coming as per Acts 3:21, and it is an unpardonable sin to add or take Words away from God's Word as per Revelation 22:18,19.

Whenever true prophets try to interpret prophecies in God's Word such as Barack Hussein Obama may be the future False Prophet of 666, we must also say that this is just an interesting SPECULATION since God's Word does not specifically say this. We must also remember that Daniel 11 can be interpreted in about 100 different ways.

False prophets such as this person and (another man was called) continually talk about seeing Jesus, fighting demons and getting special messages from Jesus. They are usually from the extreme charismatic groups.

Acts 3:21: "Jesus must remain in Heaven **UNTIL** the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets."

My response to this ‘prophet’ who regularly talks to Jesus was as follows:

Jesus does not come to anyone....there is no reason for that.

He came to us and told us what we need. We do not need any other prophecies/revelations.

We have everything what we need and it is written in the Bible. If there is something NEW, it is NOT true!!!! God Jesus does NOT give us any 'NEW' revelations...God and Jesus does not talk to us in audible voice like to Moses. He speaks through other believers and the words of God in the Bible. Those who hear voice of 'god' usually dwell in the mad houses. The question is who is this god they listen to? It is quite well known fact that if people hear any voices in head, it means that this man and woman suffers from schizophrenia…i.e. he/she is demons-possessed. But Christians cannt be demon-possessed!!!! So, if this man is demons-possessed, it means he is not a Christian and he needs repentance and to be born of God yet to get rid of these demons.

We do not need any ‘spiritual battles’, because we conquer only by the word of God and the Gospel proclamation and prayers...we conquer not by any occult manipulations and in imaginary battles in our head…like people do it in madhouses or in many crazy modern-day churches.

The God’s angels are fighting actually in battles. They are fighters. But we cast away demons from people and occupy their territory when people are born of God through the Gospel proclamation.

It was a demon who came to this man in the form of Jesus. Jesus can come in dreams, visions or personally to Muslims to convert their hearts from the false religion Islam. It is no need for Jesus to come to ‘Christians’. I have heard many insane Christians who say that they saw and talk regularly to Jesus.

I warn you: you will NEVER get to the Kingdom of Heaven if you will listen to these demons. Only demons come to people like the angel of light and God warns us about it in the Bible.

And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15

They will be in the hell and lake of fire.

Do not drink and you will now see any demons...if you will see them then I would say: you are crazy and you need medical treatment.

If you will see this 'jesus/angels' then you should know that you should pray to God, abandon your sins, repent of your sins, confess them to God in a prayer and then the Son of God Jesus will take/cast away any demons from you...if they will not go away..medical treatment needed...sorry.

There was a gift of the prophecy given by the Holy Spirit to the early Church.

The gift of prophecy edifies, exhorts, and comforts (I Corinthians 14:3), helps us build up or strengthen, and should lead us to the Word of God. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to convict of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment to come (John 16:8-11).

Prophecy is divinely inspired and anointed utterance, a supernatural proclamation in a known language. It is the manifestation of the Spirit of God - not of intellect (I Corinthians 12:7), and it may be possessed and operated by all believers in the God of Israel who have the infilling of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 14:31). It is calling forth words from the Spirit of God.

Does the person with the gift of prophecy only receive messages expressed in words?

A person with the gift of prophecy may receive messages in various ways, including visions, dreams, words of knowledge or wisdom, discernment and the operation of another spiritual gift such as teaching. Very often the prophet's message will come in a way that requires the prophet to find the words to describe the message. It may even be in the form of a strong emotional impression.

How does the gift of prophecy relate to scripture?

The Word as revealed in Scripture/Bible is thus the standard by which other words are judged.

We should test prophetic utterances.

Is the gift of prophecy dangerous?

The penalty for false prophecy in Biblical times was death (Deuteronomy 18:20). While we don't have the death penalty in church life today, one should always be careful when claiming that something is a word from the Lord. God's name is not to be taken carelessly or lightly.

Pastors and other leaders must use discernment in dealing with those who claim a word from the Lord.

The gift of prophecy was very important in that it met a real and unique need of the early Church. They were at a loss without any of this new revelation yet recorded and available, so God gave His word "part by part" (I Corinthians 13:9) through these gifted men until that written Word/Bible was complete.

Does God give us the same gift of prophecy today like we see it in the early Church in the Bible?

I do not know. Several factors demand that the gift of prophecy is no longer given to the Church:

(1) The most obvious reason that the gift is no longer given is that there is no need for it today. God has given a complete revelation in the Bible which is altogether sufficient in all matters of faith and practice. The prophets met a unique need of that first century Church, before this revelation was available. The Church today does not need any prophets to give new revelation, only teachers and preachers to expose it to the Revelation already given.

(2) No revelation is being given today. No one today can add a verse to Scripture; no one today is receiving new truth.

(3) The prophets were the foundation of the early Church (Ephesians 2:20), which is now complete.

(4) I Corinthians 13:8-13 specifically predicts their demise with the completed canon of Scripture. With a complete Scripture, the other prophecies are useless.

What I saw in our Churches was just deception when pastors deceived people and gave them false and even funny revelations. God will judge them for any word they utter on behalf of God!!!!!

I Thessalonians 5:19-20 commands the Christian to prove, or test, all prophecies.

Summary: Prophecy was an important gift to the Church and met a unique need in the early Church, but it is no longer needed or given. Its "partial" messages (I Corinthians 13:9) have been replaced by the complete Revelation. It is my opinion and opinion of some Christians. I warn you again that liars or those who deceive people will NEVER get to the Kingdom of God. God addresses today to the 'prophets':

Jeremiah 23
The Branch of Righteousness
1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD.

2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the LORD. 3 “But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the LORD.
5 “ Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD,

“ That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King (Jesus) shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
6 In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell safely;
Now this is His name by which He will be called:

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
.

7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ 8 but, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own land.”

False Prophets and Empty Oracles
9 My heart within me is broken
Because of the prophets;
All my bones shake.
I am like a drunken man,
And like a man whom wine has overcome,
Because of the LORD,
And because of His holy words.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
For because of a curse the land mourns.
The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course of life is evil,
And their might is not right.
11 “ For both prophet and priest are profane;
Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.
12 “ Therefore their way shall be to them
Like slippery ways;
In the darkness they shall be driven on
And fall in them;
For I will bring disaster on them,
The year of their punishment,” says the LORD.
13 “ And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria:
They prophesied by Baal
And caused My people Israel to err.
14 Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem:
They commit adultery and walk in lies;
They also strengthen the hands of evildoers,
So that no one turns back from his wickedness.
All of them are like Sodom to Me,
And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

15 “Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets:

‘ Behold, I will feed them with wormwood,
And make them drink the water of gall;
For from the prophets of Jerusalem
Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’”

16 Thus says the LORD of hosts:

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you.
They make you worthless;
They speak a vision of their own heart,
Not from the mouth of the LORD.
17 They continually say to those who despise Me,
‘ The LORD has said, “You shall have peace”’;
And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,

‘ No evil shall come upon you.’”
18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD,
And has perceived and heard His word?
Who has marked His word and heard it?
19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD has gone forth in fury—
A violent whirlwind!

It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.
20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back
Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart.
In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.
21 “ I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran.
I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in My counsel,
And had caused My people to hear My words,
Then they would have turned them from their evil way
And from the evil of their doings.
23 “ Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD,

And not a God afar off?
24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says the LORD;

“ Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.

25 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying,

‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26 How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, 27 who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.
28 “ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream;
And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully.
What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the LORD.
29 “ Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD,

“ And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

30 “Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who steal My words every one from his neighbor. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues and say, ‘He says.’ 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” says the LORD, “and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness.

Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all,” says the LORD.
33 “So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying,

‘What is the oracle of the LORD?’ you shall then say to them, ‘What oracle?’ I will even forsake you,” says the LORD. 34 “And as for the prophet and the priest and the people who say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ I will even punish that man and his house.

35 Thus every one of you shall say to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’ 36 And the oracle of the LORD you shall mention no more. For every man’s word will be his oracle, for you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God. 37 Thus you shall say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’ 38 But since you say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ therefore thus says the LORD: ‘Because you say this word, “The oracle of the LORD!” and I have sent to you, saying, “Do not say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’” 39 therefore behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you and forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and will cast you out of My presence. 40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.’”

So, God told us here that false prophets and those who give us false dreams will NEVER inherit the Kingdom of God.

What is the Spiritual Warfare where we, Christians, are engaged in?

In Ephesians 6:12, Paul speaks of putting on the full armor of God. But why? We fight against demons and destroy their world by the Gospel proclamation. Let me repeat what I said above.

We do not need any ‘spiritual battles’, because we conquer only by the word of God and the Gospel proclamation and prayers...we conquer not by any occult manipulations and in imaginary battles in our head…like people do it in madhouses or in many crazy modern-day churches.

The God’s angels are fighting actually in battles against demons and satan. They are fighters. But we cast away demons from people and occupy their territory when people are born of God through the Gospel proclamation.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

How Do We Go Into Battle as Christians?
Since the Bible uses terms of warfare, it’s best that we accept God’s imagery, so that we’re properly prepared for real battle during our lives. As Christians, we’re going through more than a mere “struggle” on earth – and its seems that war imagery captures this reality better than anything else. Since it’s warfare, God instructs Christians to use a very specific set of armor and weapons in Ephesians 6:14-18:

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with ***truth***,

and having on the breastplate of*** righteousness***;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the*** gospel of peace***;

Above all, taking the shield of*** faith***,

wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of ***salvation***,

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the ***Word of God***: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit...”

We do not kill in Jihad like Muslims do, but we conquer by the Word of God.

Spiritual warfare is a reality of the Christian life. But remember, we know the ending – our side wins. Since the Devil has already lost, he has nothing to lose in trying to take as many people with him in defeat. Therefore:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

(Ephesians 6:10-11).

Brothers, also remember:

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith

and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (1 Tim 4:1)

One man told me:

“Christianity with its over 32,000 denominations is filled with false prophets and heresy; I am amiss as to what you two are complaining about!
Which denomination, and which doctrine are you referring to?
If you are referring to Christianity in general, well I wish to thank you for your posts.

It is about time others started writing on this heretical apostate religion.”

I am saying about Christianity in general and madness which we see in our churches. I warn people that God is not going to tolerate deception of any kind.....any liars (and false prophets deceiving people...)…the sexual immoral people, drunkards (those who regularly intoxicate their bodies) etc....the unrighteous....will NEVER get to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ponder and change your life accordingly before your Judgement when the God Jesus will ask you WHY did you commit these crimes against people and God. He is the Judge. He is Jesus/ the Creator of the universe. Repent of your sins and turn your heart from sins to God to OBEY Him. He died on the cross and took millions of sins to give us eternal life. Accept this eternal life through your FAITH in the Son of God. Abandon your false doctrines to obey God.

Having spent about 15 seconds through your last couple of posts it is obvious that you did not take my advice and chill out by going to the Scary Snowman for a bit of a giggle; though I'm not all that sure that your particular worldview actually permits happiness and joy, let alone the ability to commune with the Father.

As you seem unwilling to discuss the views that you are posting, which bemusingly are not even original, could you maybe paste all the material that you have been given on a single post so that we can get back to some serious discussion. As for your version of hardcore-cessationism, it is certainly scary in itself where I wonder if you are even allowed to smile as you can never be sure if you have be predestined to smile at any given time.

Having spent about 15 seconds through your last couple of posts it is obvious that you did not take my advice and chill out by going to the Scary Snowman for a bit of a giggle; though I'm not all that sure that your particular worldview actually permits happiness and joy, let alone the ability to commune with the Father.

As you seem unwilling to discuss the views that your are posting, which bemusingly are not even original, could you maybe paste all the material that you have been given on a single post so that we can get back to some serious discussion. As for your version of hardcore-cessationism, it is certainly scary where I wounder if you are even allowed to smile as you can never be sure if you have be predestined to smile at any given time.

I agree with versavia. Speaking in tongues is gibberish! Nothing more. It was relevant to the Apostles as they had to get the Gospel across to a vast amount of people who had different languages. Today, it is not needed. It is gibberish. God does not need 'speaking in tongues'.

Be very wary of false prophets!!!

As I said in a previous post, I am well aware that many people are for some odd reason uneasy with praying to the Father, which means that they would be absolutely terrified of allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through them to the Father in prayer. Of course, some would also see no need to speak to the Lord in the Spirit as they have their various denominations rule books and catechisms to keept them moving along - so yes, I do understand your position.

Praying, and speaking in gibberish is two different things my friend!

Hey, we agree again!! I know that I stopped speaking gibberish as a toddler, though I did not know how or why I should be praying until I was a teenager.

Ok, each to their own. My view has been made.

As Paul has categorically stated in 1Cor 14:2 and throughout chapter 14 that no man understands what the Spirit is saying, then the answer would be no.

Paul says nothing of the sort in 1 Cor 14:2. Pentecostals often claim this verse as their 'proof text' for tongues being a non-human language, but this is a misinterpretation gained by taking the verse out of context. The context of the whole of chapter 14 is solely the assembled congregation (v5, 12, 18, 23, 26, 28, 34). And the specific problem that Paul addresses throughout the chapter was that some people were speaking in an untranslated tongue that nobody in the congregation understood, a practice he thoroughly condemns and ultimately forbids. So when Paul says in verse 2 "no one understands them" he is saying that no one in the congregation understands the language that was spoken, not that no man in the whole world could possibly ever understand it. If someone was speaking say Persian in a small Greek church it is not surprising that no one understood. What was said would have been a mystery to them. Only God, who knows all languages, would have understood what was said. Seeing as the only description of tongues in scripture is foreign human languages (Acts 2:4-11), there is no reason to suppose the tongues of 1 Corinthians was anything different.

So rather than being the proof text that Pentecostals and charismatics claim for tongues being a non-human language, verse 2 is simply stating the obvious problem that existed in the Corinthian congregation. Remember the whole of Paul's epistle to the Corinthian church was one of correction, and Chapter 14 is no exception.
