  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thanks for the prayers! Soooo appreciate that! Update on me: I saw my chiropractor this morning and I am feeling pretty well. Thankfully, it was not as bad as it could have been. My chiro guy thought I'd be fine, and again, after adjustments from him, I'm feeling pretty good.

Ok, I do have another prayer request though....I think I have asked you guys to pray for this family before not long ago. We have some good friends who have 3 kids. Their youngest, age 18, has been in alot of trouble the past 2 years. (drugs, drug rehab, this kind of thing) (The parents are very devoted Christians, I might add.) Along with the drug use, it seems they have had a problem with his attitude etc if you know what I mean. I don't have a lot of details but yesterday, apparently, they had a real bad incident with him. He apparently got violent, and vandalized the dad's car and they said they had to call the police. I assume he was arrested and I don't what has happened from there. I think you understand the scenario. Please just pray for this young man and the family. I know especially the mom must be broken hearted today.
The young man's name is Andrew.

Got email from Andrew's mother tonight....she is beyond heartbroken and feels like they have totally lost him. She said they can only look to God for his supernatural intervention. She said that this is their only hope. Please continue to pray for him and for them. They are suffering badly. They are trying to stay in faith but are sorely tempted to despair of this situation.

They dont even feel like they can allow him back in the house when he gets out of jail. Please pray for wisdom also here in what to do.

I have known this kid since he was 13. He was such a sweet kid. It breaks my heart too.

Praying for Andrew and family. Drugs robs the users of their souls and they turn into unknowable sociopathic personalities. We have been through it. But things are looking better now. Will pray. Jan
Yes, Jan, that sounds exactly like what has happened here. Thanks for your understanding and prayers. Prayers for your situation as well.

God showed me that a small ember of faith still burned in the heart of my son. I kept praying that it would grow. He is off the drugs now but still struggles with his life direction. However we have our son back he is warm he is funny he is part of our family again. He needs a total makeover by the Lord but he has been coming to church again and helping us out by playing guitar for music ministry. So we praise the Lord for small steps toward wholeness. (BTW he is now a young adult so it has been a slow process and we too had to take drastic action at one time.) Jan

PTL... Jim's Mom is better, but that is the cycle...weakness and recovery....every week or two.

Praying for that, Gail. Please also be in prayer for my mother in law. She is in a very nice assisted care facility now, but my sister in law informed us that she may have to be moved because she has reached the stage currently with her vascular dementia that she kinda doesn't know what she's doing and keeps trying to leave. (We may have to find a place with more security. She seems to like where she is though...so we kinda hate to have to do that.)
