• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I almost don't know how to post this without sounding like I'm looking for sympathy and I assure you I'm not. (I'm looking for:groupray:)

But please pray for my husband this week-end. Sometimes holiday times are hard for us. It's kinda like it's a "family time" and when you don't have much family anymore, it can be hard. I think he's feeling the loss of our son, Aaron this week-end. He is sad. Thanks.

Praying kay kay. I am sure it is a great struggle at times for you both.
I would like to add Josh the student I mainly support at school. He broke his Humerous bone (upper arm near his shoulder) on Thursday at lunch. He has a final in English(a government exam) on Thursday so I am sure this is adding greatly to his stress level. Fortunately it is his left arm not his right but still a huge thing for him. He has moved from a modified program to an adapted program meaning he is now going for full credit on all his courses. That means he is backtracking to pick up marks for his Grade level courses that he took but didn't write finals in. (he is now grade 12 but will be writing a government English 10 exam). Complicated and something that doesn't happen often but I applaud him for the superb effort he is making to get through school with a real graduation diploma. He is a believer and I know would appreciate your prayers. jan

For my sister Janet... taken into a Bristol Hospital Saturday
after a seizure caused by self-imposed 'withdrawal' from alcohol
and is now in Detox with Liver problems
For my youngest brother Paul... also an alcoholic
who gave my sister little [if-any] encouragement to give it up
and my information is, that he did the complete reverse

I await further news from my nephew

Lord, I pray for you to show mercy
to these unwitting sinners
For your light to shine into their shadows
For your peace to remain in my heart
as I acknowledge your will in all worldly things
For Rob, and Josh, for keep, for kaykay and her husband
support them, heal them and comfort them, Lord
amen

Hi Dave,
How sad :( that is: people who have, not yet *Accepted GOD/Jesus as their Savior*

i can relate: (fortunately no-one in my family is an alcoholic or any other drug-abuser); but only my Sweetie & I are christians.

And I too can relate when one parent, then succeeds in leading children, further  astray.
Why people live only for their own  selfish wants, is just beyond me; that they can not see... what heavenly  peace & JOY  could be theirs, & forevermore... praying

Praying for all prayer requests on here...:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:
Sometimes the blessings he leaves on our doorstep are wrapped in pretty rough paper:pray:...Some gifts are hard to recognize because they don't look anything like what we are hoping for. But as someone has well said, "God is too wise to be mistaken; God is to wise to be unkind"...When you can't trace His hand, that is when you must learn to trust His heart...

Lord...hear our prayers...prayers for grieving hearts...for people in bondage to alcohol and their families...for our sick who are daily facing uncertainties and pain...help us all to bow before You and find our strength in You our merciful God. And Lord, may You lift Your hand to fight for us on many fronts and make Your name glorious amongst us again. Doing wonders in our midst that only You can do...forgive our many sins O God and remember us according to the multitude of Your mercies.

Thank You Lord for making us accepted at the foot of Your throne of mercy...in Jesus Name we pray.
