  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi Sue

"stark terror" (unless as a warning to get yourself outa physical danger immediately),
is least likely from Satan who doesn't want to be discovered.

Ideally, you could find a therapist, skilled in helping  you (of whatever emotional-owies) to not only heal...
Also to show you how easily you can replace healed-feelings, with positive, constructive Emotions of your own choosing... This way, (instead of living 'at-effect' of whatever experience(s) tempt/torment you), you will live "at-Cause" know what I mean? ;) The latter is the best, fastest way to enjoy the feelings I was sharing with you earlier.
In other words, you will skillfully generate any wonderful Spiritual emotions naturally, like automatically. How wonderful  does this sound? ;) - again, our Heavenly Father out of His pure perfect LOVE  BLESSED *all* His creations with LIFE  &
this more abundantly...
and what for? so each of His children may enjoy a measure of His full JOY ;)
GOD/Jesus just wants you Sister  HAPPY... :amen:

Prayers... for you :hug:Sue, & Ann
.

Oh THANK YOU. I needed to hear that today :).

I have experienced stark terror again today, but it started when I was praying, which made it really frightening. I know my sins are forgiven but I cannot feel any love, just loneliness and separation from comfort (whether or not I am with people). I don't know how this memory of trauma becomes linked with Christianity. I need God to show me that, and for my friends, especially the church leaders, to understand.

Could I ask for prayer too for my cousin Ann? She has heart problems, which affects her vision, and she is not a Christian. Also for me to know how to witness to her and/or others who live near her to do so. Thank you.

Sue
My friend, someday we will finally arrive on a distant shore, and what matters is not how difficult the journey..For those who overcome, a crown of life is promised:clap:...So if you feel as you are going under, being tossed about, or just trying to keep your head above water...ride the waves, my friend....The tumult of your travels here cannot compare with the triumph of your arrival in heaven someday...You will trade in your weary, worn, weathered sojourning suit for a glittering crown...
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the tes, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him...(James 1:12)

Praying for you and for your friend:pray: and that you can stand and have faith in Him...because He loves you so much....Stand and tell her how the Lord can bring light, hope, wisdom, perspective, and even joy into the darkest and seemingly most hopeless valleys and dead-end roads of life.....God bless....

I would like to compare the above
with some 'emotional states' we can experience
because, we are looking [wrongly] into our own 'condition'
bearing, in mind
the fact; that no-matter how beset we may feel
with 'our lot'
that there is always someone-else, much 'worse-off'

Please, examine, the story of the Good Samaritan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Samaritan

It is not said [mentioned]
how OLD, or travelled, was the samaritan
having led an UNKNOWN life had then reached the point
where he, was on the same road, as a victim [of the world]

It is said, that 'good men' had "passed, on the other side" [?]
but they, would not assist the 'victim'

The samaritan, therefore, had something that the other 'good men' didn't
he had; a heart, compassion, and the willingness
to devote himself to the care of the victim
including also, some-expense

The difference between the samaritan and the other 'good men' then
was.... the ability to look beyond himself...
and to care about the condition of others
ie:
He did not, look inwards [selfishly]
and say 'why should I care for this person'
his reward [immediately]
was to suffer some financial loss
and to bring delay to his own daily matters

No mention is made, of the physical age or, condition of, the samaritan
but for sure, to survive [in those days]
to the point of, his, helping the victim would have included
many crossroads and perils too

and so getting to the point of this message

In order to leave behind, matters
that we find... painful /trying/ burdensome
we can 'find' time to put them aside, whilst we get on with stuff...
'for others' [distraction therapy]
Helping others that can be, worse-off than yourself
is, one way

Taking up hobbies...
Taking trips 'out'...
Meeting other people [like you]... all of these 'distract' you,
from 'persistent assessment' of your 'cross'

This, is NOT... an easy situation to deal with
But, it is, something you can build up to

First of all taking little steps, until you can eventually
extend your gait, to walk confidently, forward

Your 'wish' to move out from beneath your 'shadows' and into the light
is the resolve that will support
your beginning to establish this 'distraction'

Choose, a day of the week
[any day] and put your 'cross' to one side for, that one 'day'
Do something, that will engage your interest for the whole day
do something that you enjoy doing or, have, always wanted to do

Your experience of this day...
can be extended to 'two days'.... and then 'three'

My testimony, is of having found
this 'something-useful' to do with my 'days'
it, maybe isn't a lot and it doesn't bring me in any money
but, I have ALL that I need to continue living
and so many blessings, come my way
that, I no longer mope and bemoan...
the trials that still-exist, but are now, so unimportant
and no longer the burden
that I previously, perceived them to be

I enjoy and will enjoy, every day... that I am given

Be well...

Your cousin.... will see, what her eyes can see
how she perceives, that, which she sees, can be seen differently...
by someone else, who is looking at the same things
Understanding varies from person to person
and we CAN, choose to be happy

When we love God's Children [?] God will, love us
When others, love us, we can then love ourselves

We must choose to live... and follow in His footsteps
to get to where He, is now at [?]

I have to do some shopping with Mary
and will return here afterwards...

Annie, thank you for saying God wants me happy. That is so good to hear, and the opposite of what I have thought He wanted! Savedsis, I know we have a better future, but it breaks my heart that some people won't be there :(, but thanks for your encouragement. I just wish that everyone would be there. Kaykay, thanks as always for your prayers.

Dave, again I say lovingly that you are talking about a different condition to mine. I do the things you suggest, but they do not eradicate the deep-seated issue I have. God is healing it but at times I just need a bit of gentle prayer support. Thank you.

Praying for you Sue and also your friend, Ann.

Could I enlist some prayers for one of my co-workers, Monica who is pregnant with triplets? They say she is about to deliver, being about 6-8 weeks shy of due date I think.

This is a happy event...I watched a lot of multiple birth deliveries on TV at one time...they can do amazing things for the mother and "kids". Still Lord we ask for Your special care over the birth of these 3 little ones and please guard the mother's health and strength...bring them all through bu Your grace and power...thank You Lord. Amen.

I understand..
but, as I have tried to explain earlier
our Lord, is 'our HOPE in things to come'
just as He was, 'our help in ages past'

He chose your birth parents
and ensured you found foster-parents
He brought you through many trials
and 'somehow' you arrived here [?]

Knowing our outcome even before we are born
and 'time' meaning so-little in His eye
and His will, being so different to our own
so, to defer to His will can, feel so-strange

Our God, our help in ages past Hymn

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men:”
All nations rose from earth at first,
And turn to earth again.

A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in following years.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

Like flowery fields the nations stand
Pleased with the morning light;
The flowers beneath the mower’s hand
Lie withering ere ‘tis night.

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

As a child, we follow the directions of the parent
to learn that which we need in our lives [to survive]

We are unable to carry the crosses of, others
and are not responsible for matters that occurred
where, we, were at that time, unable to make changes
even when we might have wanted-to

# your journey, was 'provided' and your outcome is 'fixed' [unavoidable]
# His 'reason' for bringing you this way is 'unknown' to us
# you are 'here' because that, was/has been, already decided
# and you 'remain here' because 'your journey' is yet incomplete
# it is God, who 'knows everything'
# and our faith in Him, that makes 'our way' in Him, fulfill us

I find peace, in Him,
because 'earthly-things' mean nothing at all, in Heaven
I do not BLAME my parents for my early years
'undernourished and abused physically'
I am not responsible for the means my offspring have resorted to
to 'control' their lives and associations
I hope to see them later... but this, I have no-control over
iow: whether they will be 'there' and/or arrive 'there' eventually
is NOT... down to me
[His, will, be done]

Our 'journeys' are individually prepared... there is no 'identical-journey'
BUT...
they are....
all, in the same direction [?] ie: from Birth unto Death [in the world]

Peace, can come when we surrender to His will
and get-on to enjoying EACH... N E W_ DAY
and that CAN NEED... us
to put yesterday into the past [?]
just so we can pay FULL ATTENTION to the ' new gift ' [?]

I  _ His light shines on you and your's

Could I ask you dear people to Add a few uplifting thoughts & prayers for me  again too  please
This past month, I suffered thru one too many food-poisonings, which didn't help side-step a stress-ulcer :(, &
topping that 2 wks ago I got a bad Resp-flu :( & cold. All told I lost about 9lbs. (which some of you might welcome); but
this here small :) Iceskater needs to stay at around 110-115 lbs. - So, the prayers I am asking for are about getting my *energy* back, so I can last thru each 13-17 hour day, starting at 0540 daily for work. - Thank  you!! for any kind uplifting thoughts & prayers for me

 Praying Ann, for your complete recovery. You do work long hours!! :o
Thanks  Sue for your kind prayers & positive thoughts
and most hours I don't consider 'work' (even when on the payroll starting at o'dark-100 ;)), I enjoy my various works for others' welfare. - Yet,
also I enjoy my skating... (tho when barely shuffling along on both feet), you know I don't have the energy needed
to carry myself on just one/either foot, hence why I asked for the *energy-return* prayers. Thanks so much again! Annie

THANKS  Gail, & Jan & buttercup  also for your kind prayers & positive thoughts, especially the *speedy* part:
because tho I have missed no work-days (even on the day 2+ weeks ago, that I debated driving myself to the ER), yet I've missed another month! of skating, & those absences make me really sad;
as I love to skate... especially with 2 wonderful  friends...
