  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Kaykay I am glad that they have pinpointed the cause of your husband's distress. I am praying for a smooth resolution to the problem. Jan
Thank you, Jan! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thank you everyone for your prayers, and I feel for those of you who have also lost loved ones.:hug:

I'm only passing through this evening, as having been very ill yesterday (I could only sit with my head in my hands for much of the day) and now feeling better (Praise the Lord  and thank you for your prayers), I've had to do two days chores in one! I hope to have time on here tomorrow, but I'm expecting a very dear friend to visit if he has time. If I don't, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and I'll keep the requests in my prayers . You are a lovely group of people. It is so good to be part of God's family.

Sue
Sorry you were so sick. Hope you are feeling better. Continuing prayers for you.:prayer::hug:

Thank you everyone for your prayers and comments :). Kaykay thank you for reminding me that He is nigh unto the broken hearted and Dave the "He hasn't forgotten you" note really helped. Angelwind those gentle hugs are very welcome :)hug: back) and Jan and Buttercup your comments and prayers are really appreciated.

My friend visited yesterday and unfortunately, totally unwittingly, triggered another bout of depression :(. He would be devastated to know that was the result of his visit, but I have struggled through today. Earlier I had no heart to eat or open presents and I've only just had my Christmas dinner. No-one knows I'm feeling like this, so I hope you don't mind me sharing it with you, as "talking" to others, even over the internet can cause the depression to go, and I'm already feeling a bit better as I write. It's like being two different people, swinging between sad and okay states at a moment's notice. I would appreciate prayer for this friendship, and that misunderstandings can be cleared up. There is no bad feeling at all; just hurt. Also for the depression, which I am sure has it's root in my first year. Thank you very much :hug:.

I'm continuing to pray for Samantha, Buttercup , and for all of my friends on here, especially those of you who are missing loved ones or who also find Christmas difficult. I hope you are having a good day, as we celebrate His birth:clap:.

Sue

While I was at mass last night I found out that one of our congregation died 6.30am Christmas Eve. Please remember him (Eddie) and his family in your prayers. He had had a good life and passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 95.

It can be a very hard time. I also learned last week that an old friend passed away at age 51. I knew her as Terry but her real name was Holly. She had Muscular Dystrophy but died of pneumonia at home. Her husband is also named Eddie. I returned his call after I got in from work the day it happened but he was not able to talk to me about it. I think he was exhausted as it had happened in the early hours of that day. Please pray for him. Thanks. Jan

Would you guys please pray for me?
Would some of you guys be willing to pray for me. I have a cold (which ordinarily is no big deal at all obviously.) The deal is this~ I am scheduled to have an upper endoscopy (for reflux) procedure tomorrow. They use light anesthesia and some places may not want to do it if you have a cold because of the anesthesia. Okay, I could just re-schedule, right? The problem with that is after Jan 1st my insurance deductible renews and I would have to pay $1000.00 if I can't have it tomorrow.

Sorry for the long explanation:blush:, just I would appreciate some prayer that I am well enough by tomorrow that this is not an issue.:groupray:

Hi KayKay, Just read your second post. So glad that you will be able to go ahead with the procedure. I will pray for a good result. I had this done in November and thankfully it was uncomplicated.
yes, I'm glad to be getting it done and over with but I have some apprehension about it. I was not afraid of a colonoscopy but I just like the idea of this deal even less!:o

This was much easier than the colonoscopy. I dreaded this, too, and put it off, but it went quickly and easily. Don't worry, prayers are with you. :prayer:

P.S. My throat was a little sore after, but that was the only after-affect.
It's just psychological I think. Just don't like the idea of it! My dr says it's a "piece of cake" but of course, he's the one doing it and not getting it done! LOL!;):D

It would seem that it is very common amongst teenagers
as they seek 'adulthood/ independance'
to form 'own-opinion' that seems, on the face of it
to be contentious toward their upbringing

We are taught, to teach 'by example'
let us pray that his parents and siblings, display to him
the 'better-way'

:pray:ing

Lord open the eyes of the unwary
enlighten the understanding of the novice
preserve that, which is derived of, love
and strengthen those
that witness the potential peril of a loved-one
in faith of, your forgiveness for human failing
amen
