  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you Keep, KayKay and Dave. I was just speaking with Barbara and let her know that there are many people from Golden Eagles from all over the world praying for her. She is very appreciative, as am I. Special request that the surgeons will be able to save her kidney and bladder.

KayKay, joining in prayers for JoJo's husband.

Lord, we gather together here, to offer :groupray:ers
for Sue, for Sheila, Rob and their family, for angelwind, for buttercup's friend
for Annie and her family, for kaykay's friend's son Andrew
for gratefulgrace's late friend's husband, Eddie
and also for their close friends and families at this time of anxiety and suffering
Make yourself felt with them Lord, touch them and give them your peace
Bring comfort to those that ache beneath their cross
and strengthen them with your loving grace and mercy
This we ask in the name of your Son, our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ
We submit to thy will in these things and beseech you
out of love, for, our family, your children, here on earth
to heal those that feel such pain and distress
amen

Amen! It's a lovely prayer Dave.

The Lord knows our needs.. long before we encounter any shortcoming

He has endowed us all with 'talents' and these are many
that are, of benefit to all when shared...
he made us in His image... our souls, all, look alike
these earthly bodies are transient and expendable in a finite way

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name....

For a sister...
may she find, that, loving-others, is more rewarding
than counting her own coups
may she become aware, that 'showing the way'
should not sound like 'castigation' for, error
and be reminded
that our Lord would so-enjoy forgiving the repenting sinner...
whose heart, had then been 'won'
amen

We just got word at 1:30 am that my husband's father had just passed away. Several of the family have traveled several states away to attend the funeral of our brother-in-law, so our hearts were already aching. His wife, my husband's sister, had died 11 years ago, and there are three children still in high school left without either mother or now father . . .

Yet another blizzard predicted for today is going to make planning the funeral a bit of a challenge. I have been skirmishing with my emotions since the holidays with varying degrees of success, and should perhaps ask prayer for myself as well to be a good support and encouragement to my husband in these coming days.

Dear Worddancer Sis'

I  that you become
the 'support and encouragement' to your husband
that you would dearly love, to become

Please, be reminded, that our Lord
will not give us more than we can bear to carry, as, our cross
and that He is, there, watching and listening, compassionately
Let us encounter these 'valleys' according to His will
and live our days, one day at a time
It can be difficult to see and be grateful for, our many blessings
during such times of 'gloom and sadness'
and this is why, we should look for His Light, in our darkness
and hold-on to His promise

I read this sermon earlier
and I post this link for the guidance you might glean from it /
the comfort it might impart to you

http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/1799.htm

May God bless you, your husband and his family

your Bro'

Bro' Bob said:
I'm going to Rapid City in about a half-hour.
My father-in-law has to have his left leg amputated below the knee
due to circulation issues. Please keep him in your prayers!
he's 76 years old, a retired Episcopalian priest and US Marine drill sergeant.
(Korean war veteran.)
His name is Dennis, it sometimes makes it easier to pray if you have a first name.
Thanks... Bob... Spearfish, SD

Please, join-me in-prayer...
For Bro' Bob's FIL, Dennis
Lord, see him through this ordeal and enable doctor's and surgeons
to complete this op efficiently and, to good outcome
amen

My very sincerest thanks for all who’ve kindly offered prayers . . Dave, I printed off that sermon and my husband (not much of a reader usually) sat and read it straight through. Bless your thoughtfulness. And thanks to Buttercup, Worcester Beacon and Rebornfree . .

I’m a bit behind . . so am adding Buttercup’s friend who is facing surgery . . for Jojo’s husband’s recovery . . . for Dennis’ amputation and recuperation, mind and body, I would guess.

Yes Sis' Worddancer

I found His word within it [just so often]

iow: you dont realize what you had until you lose-it
but that said...
'parting-company' is only temporary and also a necessity,
for His way, to complete His promise

His blessings, are there to see, when seen, with eyes that have been gifted
and a heart that has been filled with the spirit, is never empty
LOVE, it has no equal... is indeed virtually impossible to conceal
and little wonder that it can flood out, from a heart so-full

His peace...is on the bus, when, He is in the driving seat
surrender to the ride, for it is headed to the best destination

your Bro'

I am praying that Barb's surgury will go better than expected. I will try to pray tomorrow around the time she goes into surgury (About my coffeebreak time) as well.
Praying for all those who are sad discouraged or bereaved. Also praying for Bro Bob but not sure exactly what he needs. (I might have missed one of your posts dave).

PS Annie asked me to thank everyone so much for your heartfelt prayers for her situation with work and her skating injury. Jan
