  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have tried to catch up with all the new prayer requests and I am praying for you all and for wee Samantha. Just to let you know i haven't heard from Springy for awhile now. I had her email but of course it is locked in the hard drive of my now defunct computer. Last we connected she was ok and back home. Not sure why she isn't posting again perhaps the Lord has lead her on a different ministry path. It is nice that we still remember her. Often I take sudden remembrance of a long lost friend as a tip to PRAY for them. :) Jan

Hiyah Jan Sis'

I have just sent you an email.... perhaps, it will be of help

I continue to pray for Samantha,
knowing, that His will for her,
whatever that is
is, a lesson in love, for us all
and that Lee,
being the fine, God-fearing woman, she is
is, in good hands, wherever she may be

:pray:ing

Oh what wonderful news, and will continue to pray for the dear little girl.

And yes, Jan, I often feel that way as well when someone suddenly keeps coming to mind.

Thankful for the good news about Samantha. l will continue to pray for her.
I have a praise report to share
My oldest son was at his staff Christmas Party on Saturday night downtown and when he came out his car had been broken into. Fortunately no window was broken or anything but they did steal his bass guitar. I have nagged him about leaving it is the car but that's another story. He was upset made to police report and came home. We arranged for a borrowed bass for worship the next day(he was leading) and it went vey well. We had kind of written the guitar off as our insurance has a $500 deductible and that is what it would cost to replace it and the case. Sigh.
Well imagine my husbands surprise when after church a chap walks in carrying a guitar and asking for Paul. I guess he was a musician working downtown and after he was done the thief had sold it to him for $13 on the street outside the club. When he saw the address of our church (along with a ton of worship sheet music) and my son's name he decided to return it. Hubby said he the guy was really nice and offered him $20 for his trouble. At first he didn't want to take it but he insisted. I had been praying that the thief would be convicted when he saw all the stuff about God. Maybe he was and that is why he let it go so cheap. Anyway we are just rejoicing here. Jan

Could I please ask for some prayer for my husband? He has been sick for about a week now with what we initially thought was some kind of intestinal virus or perhaps food poisoning, but he is still sick. Seems like it has gone on a bit long for a virus....

Then while battling this, his office computers have been hit with a very persistent computer virus which has spread from computer to computer. (My husband is IT director there so it is his job to deal with this.) He and several guys from his support service were at the office literally all night Monday night (he got home at 7:00am) working on it. Today it's trying to re-establish itself.

So could I please get some prayer for my husband regarding the computer viruses and what may or may not be a physical virus?

Hi Sis'

Have him look at COMODO BOCLEAN I am presently running a free trial
and to give it full credit... I have to say
that my machine is running as ALMOST NEW

It has a protective database of nearly 70,000
[foreign body recognition] iow: spyware /malware /virus and trojans

It protects efficiently in real time [background... as does Avast Home]
and manual scans are a doddle to to focus at distinct areas of the PC

I have 60 days... before I must buy or, unload

along with my FREE email certificates [security]
I will surefire BUY this one... if, I can afford it :D

dave

Your hubby may have picked-up a stomach-flu
and then re-infected himself [?] It is, just so-easy to do that
Get him to be extremely careful...

I, even wash my hands after blowing my nose
[as a rule... the consequences, can be dire for, someone-else]

Your current antimalware database was released on 2008-12-17 12:49:37

67444 trojans are covered in your current BOC427.XVU file:

KayKay, hope your husband is feeling much better and the office computer issue has been resolved.

Again, asking for prayers for Samantha -- and so appreciative for all the prayers already. I received an email from my cousin asking for more prayer for Samantha as she is back in the hospital. I was happy to tell her that Samantha is covered in prayer all over the world. :hug:to all of you Golden Eagles for you concern and steadfastness.
