  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Praying for you Angelwind ; it must be very hard for you , but hopefully you are getting better.

I have a doctor's appointment Thursday morning for a minor (hopefully) health problem, which has been going on for several months and is getting me down, and not helping with my depression (which is otherwise not so bad at the moment PTL). Prayers would be welcome for the appointment and many thanks for previous prayers.

I am sure you feel emotional. I'm so sorry. Surely it will get better.

I do get emotional about it...I'm ok or better if I just keep to my routine for treating the condition, reading the word 7 praying.

I read something today that encouraged me to keep praying. I know the Lord sees and He is at work doing some wonderful things in my heart. Hugs back to you Ariel.

Lord, strengthen us, support us and comfort us
for we, in faith, will not shirk from the 'cross'
that you have carved for us each, to carry

Lord, you have told us to walk in thy footsteps
and humbly, we strive to follow you faithfully

No matter, what our valleys may become
we know, that we will see you on the other-side
Light our way, we pray...
Let us not lose sight of thee
Permit us access to thine armour
that we might repel, the sin of the world
amen

Oh Angelwind, when I was praying for you, I had an image of a tiny you curled up so peacefully in His great, cupped hand. You will be free of this eventually. And of course it's natural to feel emotional about enduring the isolation!

Praying for you as well, Sue, for wisdom to reign freely as your doctor cares for you . . and thanking Dave for his beautifully worded prayers.

I would ask prayer as well . . I woke up yesterday with no voice at all, but it did gradually become usable (if not squeaky) and there is something going on with my sinuses . . again. How I would love to have them removed altogether!! There's just so much to do this week, and the coming weeks . . It'd be so much easier to accomplish if I felt better. But I know there are those suffering with far more serious difficulties . .

From a prayer posted by: 'brokenandhumbled'

Edited to suit this forum

Dear Child Of God,

The Lord has placed a burden for you in my prayers
and I praise him because he is faithful, he is true...
and though in life sometimes we have to walk through deep valleys
and vast wildernesses, he is there with you...
He is the good shepherd who never lets go of his sheep.

Dearest Sibling In Christ, it may seem dark right now,
but the Lord is our light. An ever present help in times of trouble.
Do not despair for the Lord IS with you.
We may not understand why things happen...
sometimes these things seem to go against everything we believe...
but hold fast and stand firm...
for out of the valley of Achor he will bring you ...
and he will restore you...
but hold fast my dear friend ...
for he knows your pain...
and he sees your tears and he sees your aching heart.
Trust in the Lord Dearest Sibling In Christ
and he WILL bring you to a safe place to rest in his arms.

God Bless you, dear child of God

I sometimes READ other people's posts
and WONDER, what they were thinking, just before they posted it
I try to imagine... the something
that caused them to promote their thoughts onto the forums

I did this again [very recently]
when, a member here, resurrected one, which was written in April of 2007

http://christianforums.com/showthread.php?t=5120979

I have often wondered, what became of, our sister 'Lee'
whom, hasn't posted to the forums
under her handle 'Springrain' in, such a long time

Father, please take good care of, our wonderful Sister, Lee
keep her and her's, safely unto thee, until we can meet again
amen

Dave, I was going to ask you if you knew how Springrain was. I think she had to go off-line because she was going to look after her sick mother-in-law. I echo your prayer for her.

Praying also for Worddancer - I know it is a nuisance to be under the weather at such a busy time of year. Also for you angelwind.

Thank you for your prayers. The medical condition is a bit better today, but I'm still going to the doctor tomorrow because I've had it for a while, and want it checked out. Previous medication hasn't worked so I pray he will be able to prescribe something. A nice thing happened today: I received a letter from an old friend who is inviting me to her 60th birthday party next August. It is in the city where I used to live, and will mean catching up with several old friends whom I have not seen for 20+ years. I felt so lifted hearing about it. It is so long since I have looked forward to anything. :)

Hiyah Sue

I am sure Jan [gratefulgrace] and before that Clairefish
told me that Springrain was okay... but too busy to come online
Perhaps, she has had problems with her mobile laptop
and finances do not allow it being sorted

I will keep her in prayers anyway... He, will be efficacious

I [for, one] will be on here, over the holiday [God willing]

Mary and I have some parties to attend, locally [her family]
but these events, will still allow me to reach out to my family here

Be comforted, celebrate this coming 'anniversary' of the birth of Christ on earth
Do not look 'inwards' but outwards to others and upwards to Him

Dear Angelwind, I will be here over the holidays and look forward to being in touch with our dear Golden Eagle friends.

Asking for prayers for my cousin Samantha. She is three years old and has a number of serious medical conditions. She was taken to the emergency room this afternoon with what may be a major neurological issue. The little one was hospitalized for two weeks last month, so this is very troubling.

Hiyah butter' Sis'

:pray:ing

I do KNOW
that some younger children, REACT... to the chemicals in some-foods
The third son of my second marriage had behavioural and learning difficulties

Where on some days, he would be very amenable to 'coaching'
[home-learning] and on others, much less-responsive
but there would also be some days, that were very frightening
and he would be very difficult to 'handle'

These 'bouts' of, tantrum/ illogic/ possession, could, last several days

We examined what we were giving him to eat
Having always prepared joint family meals [post baby-food]
It was difficult to conceive of him being affected
where then, we [remainder of the family] were not

We stopped feeding him JUNK FOOD....
ie: certain types of, packeted crunchie stuff
> Monster-Munch/ Wheaties etc
we stopped his breakfast cereal and gave him 'Ricicles'
and we stopped his Bread too
whereafter, he was very rarely 'HYPER' in that way [?]

Food 'intolerance'
is, I understand, very-common, in young children

:pray:ing for Samantha

Lord we join together in prayer for Samantha...dear Lord for Your unfailing mercies and Your help...to bring wholeness to this child...and peace to her family...strength to her family and even joy in unexpected ways. May her brain be "sound" and stable according to Your will and plan, in Jesus name we pray.

Yes angelwind.... ais: even with my vocabulary...
it is difficult to express, the 'state of mind' that I am now blessed with

I remember how LOW I used-to become

#because of illness [progressive]
#because of dissolution of the 30 years marriage
#because of certain 'younger' children of the marriage
were becoming alienated, via the attentions and spiteful tongue
of my former spouse
#because the matrimonial home had to be sold [court-order]
so, that the former spouse could MILK me, of as much as she could
having only contributed £5 to our income, in the whole 30 years
#because [of the maybe, £3,000 worth] of carpentry and building tools
being stored at a son's flat, was lost when he was evicted
because he spent so much time at my flat... that he was deemed
NOT to be living there.... and the council obtained a court order
#because following the breakdown of another website, my PC
was repeatedly hacked, using information supplied to the site
while I was a member [eMail and IP details]

Somehow.... ;) I have been able to LET GO of these things
I KNOW.... that I'll never forget
the quite-unnecessary vehemence of the former spouse
which was, so-bad.... that the burden began to lift
as soon as she told me, " I want a divorce "
I thought: Thank God for that...
for I believed, it would end with me having a heart attack or, a stroke

I had already made a hangman's noose and stepped up to it
and climbed down again after hearing a voice inside me saying:
"Wait until the morning, things will be different then"

True enough! She, found the noose in the shed as she walked the dogs next-day

She, called me,
"you selfish 'bar-steward'....what-if one of the kids had found you"
but, in my mind....then,
the selfish one, was calling me... contrary to, my marital faithfulness

When, we have done, ALL WE CAN, all we could think of, out-of, love for another
When all of that is absorbed and when as in my case I became ill
and the 'prospects' were diminishing [in her eyes]
she bailed-out of our marriage and began an adulterous affair
the existence of-which, was discovered only many years later

These earthly things, ARE 'transient' / 'temporary'
The only TRUE wealth, is in the spirit of happiness
This comes from love of ourselves
Shame brings repentance
Regrets, are a burden, that we can all-of-us, do without

When you look inward.... you then blind-yourself, to the beauty that surrounds you
When you empty your rubbish into the bins > it is gone
Yes, there will always be more..... temporarily
When you feel sad....
It is because you are not giving up that which hurts you
You are, 'hoarding-sorrow'

"If thine eye doth offend ye, pluck it out"

iow: [as I interprete it] dont look at what upsets you, again

Let it go..... get on with your life.... Do, what you enjoy doing instead
Give yourself OTHER THINGS to think about

'Idle hands find mischief to make'

Keep busy.... handcrafts/ internet/ the problems of others

ANYTHING but, stuff that you do not like.... around you

Soon then, you will be able to see LIGHT in the SHADOWS of your past
and will have the blessing, of, a much leaner/ lighter/ relaxed, YOU

Don't forget to pray and praise Him for His mercy
for, this, has He promised us

Isaiah 40:31
Psalm 23
The Lord's Prayer

His will.... and not our's
