CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can someone please pray for me that I find some real friends (IRL) in my age group (I'm 28)? I've been very alone most of my life, I've never had anyone I could comfortably call a best friend. Recently I had my high school reunion and I am reminded of how alone I am. Thanks.

I need prayers right now...
and really glad that prayer isn't like money because I don't think I'd have the means to keep asking for prayers as often as I do... Lord have mercy on me. I'm a terrible sinner. And I feel like I missed humility and instead I'm hurdling straight towards despair and pride at the same time

Here in Russia the political climate is getting more threatening. The authorities are reacting in the bad old Soviet way, it's not looking good. I don't care to be caught in some kind of new Russian revolution (which our own government has been long encouraging).
At the same time, my efforts to revitalize my job and get students appears to be failing. This weekend will be decisive; I'm a dead duck if this year falls through. I'm the real breadwinner; the family, including elderly in-laws, depends on me.
