  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you for your prayers for my friend's husband, Wayne.:) His procedure went well. When I know more I will post it here. I think he is most likely taking it easy and healing as there were months of worry before.

I'm limiting my computer time and I'm sorry I haven't posted an update before. I continue to pray for wonderful, kind people I've met here.:)

Please know that I know none of our requests are more or less than anothers... and isn't it great that we don't have to pick and choose our faith or prayers as, just like love, it's a bottomless well! :)

Continue praying for my service dog Caleb. He nearly passed two days this week..yet God raised him back up... he is at 3 months after they didn't give him 3 weeks.

Each and every time I beg God for more strength, wisdom, understanding and faith, He gives a message of hope "out of the blue" directly from Him!

Praise God.

For an example (and I ask God for these things every half hour or more since I am very weak in faith I think)... I had to leave Caleb Thursday to go to my own doctors... and Caleb could barely breathe or move... my own PCA was able to come and dogsit while I left (as I was sure the devil would take him if he were alone)...

as I drove the 30 miles to my doctor's, I listened to Christian radio but just as I went out of range the devil attacked my faith and I begged God for another message of strength.... as I exited the turnpike that very minute, I pulled up behind a Dog Grooming van! Praise God for His lovingkindnesses and mercy.

He will heal Caleb not because of His promises (though that is truth too) but because of WHO HE IS!

Faith IS the victory.

I believe, Lord, help Thou my unbelief!

Today Caleb is better. He is able to drink standing up, and eating not just mush but small chunks of roasted turkey...
he is in a big fight for his life... but God is battling on his side!

Jean

Thank you all for your prayers for my dear friend's husband, Wayne!:) Here is an excerpt and update from her email:

"PTL! Wayne is doing very well. His bruising is all gone and now he is just waiting for the stitches to fall out. Tomorrow is two weeks he can work again, but still has to wait until the 19th to drive, it is the law. I am so glad he can start working again because he has been going stir crazy. He has been doing a few things to work up to this day."

:prayer: for Susie, her Aunty Nancy and, her friend Betty
at this time of 'loss'

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep,
that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so
them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord
shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God
and the dead in Christ shall rise first
Then we which are alive [and] remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

I'd appreciate prayers for two appointments I have at the beginning of next week. One is medical; the other a possible answer to a previous prayer request. It is a train journey away and I'm not feeling very well at the moment; I suspect Satan is trying to stop me going, so I'd appreciate prayer that I'll get there if it is the Lord's will. Many thanks.

Is it too soon? I can still barely breathe after losing Caleb... yet people think I need to get a new puppy to train asap... I am not making good decisions, not thinking straight...so please pray if I should try and get this purebred standard poodle (standard poodle and labradoodle are best suited for me, personality and needs)...

I was going to discuss this with my pain/stress management psychologist...but he's still out from cancer surgery and chemo last week. (How selfish do I feel now?)

Well, I can relate to the pain of losing a beloved pet...it does really hurt.

I have seen standard Poodles used as service dogs in church....they are wonderful to be around.
Do you need a service dog?

In the past we have not waited too long before we replaced pets...they just bring so much joy, just as they are.

I went 2 years without a pet, thinking my pet days were over;then hubby just pushed & pushed for this Pom I have now....she was truly the best medicine for me...brought me right out of depression and grief.

I stand with you in thinking, praying and deciding what to do next.
