  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

To be brief, I spent hours today dealing with shortness of breath and dizziness and a blood draw revealed my d-dimer level was elevated. It was determined I probably had a blood clot and needed to go to the er, so an ambulance came to the nursing home and got me.

I am so tired of this. My friend came from church and I wrote out my will and gave it to her as well as made her my power of attorney.

She is one these church ladies I've talked about at this new church I'm now going to who are so lovingly taking care of others in the community.

She gave me an angel she had made herself from jewelry smithing and beads and placed it onto my shirt for angelic protection and off I went to the er.

I am ok for now, but it can all change in an instant-life is fragile and we need to appreciate it.

Unreal, scary day. Should make Easter Sunday all the more special!
I agree that life is fragile, which is why it is so important to know the Lord then whatever happens we are safe with Him for eternity. He paid such a high price for our salvation.

I agree with what you posted above about repentance and serving others, but may I just add something? It's that His love flows into our lives, and it never stops. If we give to others we don't have less because His love keeps on flowing. We are always in His care and we are infinitely precious to Him. :)

May He keep you in His love this Eastertide, dear spice, and bring you through this very trying time. Continued prayers for your healing, my sister, and for the peace of God which passes all understanding.

well, now that is a beautiful rose dave.

I'm shook to the core, as I can't shake off the remarks I was given that my femur fractured bc I have "thin bones" but not osteoporosis.

I'm freaked out, bc a totally different surgeon I had consulted a few years ago said I had so much bone loss he couldn't believe it.

I brushed off his statement as I was a gymnast and coach for 30 years...how could I have thin bones?

didn't make any sense until now that I have a fracture and the surgeon went in and saw my bone with his own eyes.

So, of course with no information, I went looking for possible answers, and if it's not osteoporosis it could be osteolysis.

I scared the you know what out of myself.

dave, sometimes, I do believe the Lord did leave me and forsake me to be honest. and what character lesson am I to learn yet?

I feel like I'm being killed softly

Did you mean: 'reworked' ?
I am sure (really sure) that our Lord is Faithful
and will-not, forsake-us, 'leave-us-wonting'

Sometimes, we can be (both) deaf and blind, to His works in our lives

Don't we require CITRUS, to aid our benefiting from the capture and deposition of calcium upon our bones ?

Not something that I am familiar-with (yet) although I have had some long bone pain
(shin and thigh)

being re worked is a good point and I can be deaf dumb and blind too, to His works....

I am being left right now to wonder if it's due to all those obsessed years of dancing and anorexia....

Oh my dear god, what have I done?

I didn't know the Lord, and I didn't know I was loved and good enough...so all those calories not eaten and hours exercising were for whom?

everyone has regrets when they get older don't they?

young, stupid girl, I thought I would be better if only I could be more lean.....

I, have ALWAYS been a very LEAN person

This has been a very natural-development
Without intent, or even aforethought

Variety..... provides more GOOD than bad, and, keeps the bad ~LIMITED, to small doses

We are, just exactly, how he created us .... EVERYTHING 'changes'
I would, if I were you, have faith, that the reasons
(for everything I have seen and experienced) have rhyme and importance for our future
?

You cannot build a house, WITHOUT FOUNDATIONS ?
Maybe, God's intent for YOU, requires that you become molded (in this way)

Of-course, if you keep looking into the shadows
then you are very-likely to see 'darkness' ?

God is the Light (?)

* Be grateful for all the good times and, the bad
For, whatever is not a blessing..... might-well, be, a LESSON

Thank you for your nice comment spice. I wanted to emphasize the love of God, because for years I had a wrong image of Him as very strict and demanding, and have only recently realised that He is amazingly loving. Sometimes life can be hard but His love and acceptance of us never changes.

I am sure (really sure) that our Lord is Faithful
:amen:I completely agree.
Someone told me not to go by my feelings when wondering whether or not God is with me, but to go by His Word. He tells us that He is always with us. (Matt 28 v20b; Romans 8 v 28-39) (Psalms 23, 34, 46,91,103,139,145 are very comforting too.) :)

I think the Lord is working in your life, as you go through this very difficult trial, spice, and I pray that He will bring you to a place of peace and healing. :prayer:  This scripture comes to mind:
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
Isaiah 43 v 2

(BTW I've had regrets too and I suspect most of us have!:))

I just want to add that I'm sorry that you are suffering what may be the effects of years of gymnastics, and particularly anorexia, but the Lord is bigger than osteoporosis and osteolysis. Also He knew this would happen. It's not a surprise to Him and He will have a way through it for you. :)

Pray it to be so rebornfree

I wished I knew god really loved me back then. I was trying to be perfect.

But He would say I was perfect in His eyes already and sadly, I would not have believed it.

Thanks for your feedback and for Daves as well.

It's so beautiful to be guided back onto the path by loving sisters and brothers.

I can take the correction bc I'm convicted in my heart of my sins of not trusting God and being angry, hurt and unfaithful lately.

We Can indeed ask for God to increase our faith and to pray for that is not wrong-right?

I imagine that it would be a very good thing to pray for. We grow in faith. Jude 20 says "But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit." In 2 Corinthians 10 v 15 Paul says "...as your faith continues to grow,..." which implies that it is something which increases. I think most of us would say that as we see answered prayer, and learn more about the Lord, our faith increases. :)

BTW I love your avatar!

I love your avatar too, and the woman pleading to Jesus.

Mine is to remind others including myself that Jesus has your back and is good for (((HUGS))).

I love the idea that our faith can grow. I often just pray this: "come holy spirit come." when I am really afraid and don't know what else to say or do.....

You are very wise! I'm amazed at how the Lord helps us when we call upon Him; sometimes doing things beyond our imagining. :)

Aged five years, I would walk to school (infants) ALONE
ie: after the first few weeks of showing MUM, that I KNEW THE WAY
and, could cross, ALL of the roads safely....
That meant that Mum didn't need to take me there and fetch me home
with three other young children (my siblings) in-tow (I was eldest)

Three months later, on my way home, there was a father christmas
Selling, 'lucky dips'
~from the back of his flat bed truck
as he drove away down the road toward the main bus route at the bottom
I jumped upon his tailgate and took the 'ride'
expecting-him to stop at the junction at the bottom.... he didn't
he broke the law
and only slowed to around 15 mph before shooting straight-across the main road
I had dropped-off but 15 miles an hour was far too fast for me to run at
and I took the slide on my chin hands elbows and knees
They, were scrubbed RAW

I could have been killed... so-easily ..............
I told Mum that I had been running and fell [and left-out the bit about the truck]

That, was JUST ONE of the many times I have survived.... ~lived-on, to tell of it

I'd like you to pray for a Christian outreach we're planning to run in our church on four Wednesdays in May. It's called Walk for Life and is for ladies of all ages. Pray that souls will be saved please.

Thank you.
