  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi Luba Sis'

The last 'nine years', of my second marriage [of 30 years]
had me, in a very similar position :prayer:

I had 'circulatory problems' [AN INVISIBLE ILLNESS] later called "Peripheral vascular disease"

I was 'daily' called: "a waste of space", "a lazy 'barsteward' ", "a shammer"
~in front of our six children

My authority with them was undermined [with the children]
"Take no notice of what 'he' says.... I said, you can"
The youngest was 19 years, to date of the divorce

Since that time, I have had four angioplasty procedures
and bilateral inguineal hernia repairs [both sides of the groin] at different times

More-recently, I have been diagnosed with Severe LVSD [heart failure]
and been told, that I damaged my heart perhaps many years ago
and that it had bucked-up ~to self-repair [to be able to cope]
but that, now, that effort, has worn it out
and created a few knocks in it's pistons
moderate regurgitation of Atrial valve and mild regurgitation of Tricuspid valve
[in and out has problems] and is much less efficient
~aka: 'a broken heart'

For sure, we will  for LUBA's FRIEND in Jesus' name
THE NAME, ABOVE ALL OTHER NAMES
That she be comforted
and strengthened
and be shown His light in her darkness

Jesus 'knows' her trials (today) and will see her through them

Ecclesiastes 3 (NIV) There is a time and a place for EVERYTHING
and, for everything, THERE IS A REASON
:prayer: That your friend, leans upon, the everlasting love
and is able to be patient [but attentive]
and can wait upon the Lord's direction
:amen:

I believe, that, when the Lord takes something bad away from us
~it is to give us 'something better'

your Bro'

dave

May God direct, bless, and heal your friend in His Merciful Love

May God bless them both, and heal their union in His perfect will for their lives :crossrc:

Thank you both for your prayers,:) I pray that all prayers will help them both.:prayer:

I want to give thanks for an answer to prayer and thank you sincerely for praying for my wife. My wife has had a lung disease (Lupus family) for about a year now. I've been praying for remission, and SHE HAS IT. I can't tell you how happy we are, and we know God had His hands in this. THANK YOU LORD!

He said... "ask, and it shall be given to you"

He said... “Again, truly I tell you
that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for,
it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Matthew 7:7

New International Version (NIV)

"Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 18:19-20

New International Version (NIV)

19 “Again, truly I tell you
that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for,
it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

We know, He is true and faithful to His word
Let us praise Him with all of our hearts for His Amazing Grace

I keep starting to write a prayer request
but my stubborness pulls me back each time..sighhhh.. :( :o
I am unable to pray for myself right now
or any others until I make things right with God.. :(

SNAP!!!!

Although, for much more happier reason

I don't ever recall, having, requested prayer for 'MYSELF'
but, I have-been 'warmed', by the caring prayers of others

I feel [deep down] that God knows, 'my condition' [in every moment]
and, for me to 'suffer' any discomfort... MUST BE, His will for me
Whether it be a lesson, or a 'test' of my faith...
I know, that if I just 'hang-in' there I will be blessed for my endurance
[and, my trust in Him]

The relevant Bible text ....

Exodus 2:23-25

God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Exodus 2:24

For years, Moses sojourned in Midian, having fled from Egypt because the Pharaoh sought his life. During this period, the Israelites continued to suffer as slaves under the cruel hand of their Egyptian masters. In their agony, “They cried out for help, and their cry rose up to God” (v. 23). Exodus records the good news that “God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (v. 24). For the first time in the book of Exodus, we glimpse a glimmer of hope for God’s people.
Even today, God hears the groaning of his people. When we hurt and cry out to God, he attends to us. This is good news, indeed. But it does not mean that we necessarily feel as if God is hearing us. There are many times when it seems as if God is absent or has, at any rate, chosen to ignore our cries. This experience is reflected in the Psalms, most notably in Psalm 22: “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night you hear my voice, but I find no relief” (vv. 1-2).
In times when it seems as if God will not hear us, we are comforted by the good news of Exodus 2:24. Even as God heard the groaning of Israel, so he will hear us. Later, Psalm 22 celebrates this truth: “Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them. They cried out to you and were saved (vv. 4-5a). Later, this psalm adds, “For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned his back on them, but has listened to their criesfor help” (v. 24). In times when God seems very far away, we hold on to the biblical promise tenaciously, maybe even desperately. God will hear us. God listens to our groaning.

I am happy, to await God's will to be done

Actually, throughout my life, I have come through 'situations'
over-which, I had had so very-little control
but did not, then, realize, that I had not gotten through, by my own actions
but with hindsight, can attribute [my being repeatedly 'rescued']
~to His love for me

Matthew 18:19-20 (NIV) hold some very saliently 'valid' promises, for 'me'

God bless you aussieangel Sis'

Thank you dave for reminding me of the promises that come through His word..I know God is waiting for me to return to the fold..He waits silently and lovingly like the Father He is. I have already taken steps to help myself and I am sure it will only be a matter of time before I do everything I know God would wish me to do, so, with His love and guidance (am sure he guided me to this site for a reason) my heart is being prepared to enable me to take a particular course of action which I know is required....

Thank you also for sharing your "faith" with me..great verses..smiles... :amen:

your sister in Christ...

Our friend in Alabama... 'Pat'
has again written to me
requesting :prayer: for a relative, of her's

Hi, Dave -
I'm afraid I'm inundating you with prayer requests lately,
but that might be the result of my and my friends' ages.

My brother-in-law Paul (in New Braunfels, TX)
has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
He will begin chemo next week
and will also undergo 7 weeks of radiation.
He - and I - would appreciate
the prayers of your group for successful treatment of his cancer.

Thanks in advance
and let your group know how much I appreciate them -
love - Pat

Hi Pat (((hug)))

Whenever you feel a need to ask for prayers
please, do not hesitate, to do so
We are 'called' to pray for, and, to uphold each other
as children, of the one true God
I will, pass-on your appreciation to my friends and 'family' in Christ

 'The Lord's Prayer'

Praised be God,
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies,
and the God of all consolation!
He comforts us in our afflictions
and thus enables us
to comfort those who are in trouble,
with the same consolation we have received from Him.

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4

Father,
Your Son accepted our sufferings to teach us
the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease,
realize that they are chosen to be saints,
and to know that they are joined to Christ
in His suffering for the salvation of the world,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

:groupray:

For Paul, (on his behalf)

Lord Jesus,
it is not Your will that Your people should suffer.
And yet, I remember so well
how You took on suffering for us all.
Keep me now from losing hope as I face once again my infirmity.
I feel the pain and ask of God,
"Let this cup pass from me."

As I kneel with You in the garden,
may I welcome another day with a prayer that echoes yours:
"Not my will but Thine be done."
Let me never forget how to laugh,
for laughter is Your gift to me
to undo depression
and heal the hurt of a sickness I cannot control.
Then I will gladly walk Your way,
to join in Your sacrifice of love,
and I will not dwell upon the pain that leads my thoughts away from You.

Take me into Your gentle embrace,
for I know that whatever this day brings,
You have paved my way with Your tears
and redeemed me with Your victory.

Amen.
