  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I didn't have the opportunity to know Steve very well, but is saddens me as well, for his children and family. It also brings into focus even more that just three years ago, we took my husband off of life support an he passed to Glory on Aug. 26.

My heart and prayers are with his family. I too pray that Steve doesn't linger.

:hug: Marsha

My Dad's birthday was today; he died July 15, 1965 (age 38) after a 5 year battle with cancer.

Like Steve (who had a 3.5 year battle with cancer)....he was courageous and faith filled; 2 very inspiring men who blessed my life :thumbsup:

Praying he is filled with every grace, as He waits for the Lord's perfect will for his life.:crossrc:

Thank you ~ God bless :angel:

Our dear Brother Steve is now with the Lord.
Thank you all for your prayers!
25th August 2013 09:11 PM
I know I should be happy to tell you that Steve went to be with God early this morning, it hurts. He fought to stay with us but he was so sick and so very tired. He was laboring through the death process and I could not bear it so I urged him to go ahead and I would catch up with him. I think that gave him peace for it was long before he left. Although he was in terrible pain these past days, I would ask him if he wanted to talk to Jesus and he would pray for everyone but himself. He mentioned you all in his prayers. You were so dear to him.
When we found out that he was entering hospice and leaving me soon, I asked him if when he got to heaven if he would find a nice bench in heaven and save a seat for me. During one of his lucid moments yesterday, he remembered his promise and reminded me of it. I have such peace in that.
The boys and myself are bearing up well for we know that he is in the arms of the angels. We thank you for your prayers cards and gifts but, we lovingly thank you for your relationship with our loved one. We love you. I will be posting arrangements when they are made. Love to you al!!l Debbie
You will always have a special place in my heart, Steve :hug:

It is amazing to me how we can get close in heart to people we have never met..just on the net.
Maybe it is the Spiritual bonding in Christ that does it. Anyway, Jesus did weep at the tomb of Lazarus...and He also raised him from the dead. Life is full of conflicitng emotions, thank You Lord for standing with us thru everything.

As we come close to Him
we 'see' that He is in us
and what, is not to love, about that ?

Are we not one in Him and therefore FAMILY together :bow:

Steve's race is 'won' .... Let us rejoice ~at his homecoming
and in faith, know, that he is now, with our Father
and relieved of, earthly trials :prayer:

'The Collect' now springs to mind

"Almighty God,to whom all hearts are open, all desires known,
and from whom no secrets are hidden;

Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your name,
through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
"

:prayer:

Guide me, O thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but thou art mighty; hold me with thy powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
feed me till I want no more; feed me till I want no more.
Open now the crystal fountain, whence the healing stream doth flow;
let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through.
Strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
be thou still my strength and shield; be thou still my strength and shield.
When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside;
death of death and hell's destruction, land me safe on Canaan's side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises, I will ever give to thee; I will ever give to thee.

Like a mighty river is the baptism of God’s Spirit;
Cleansing us from sin,
Justifying us as servant’s of the eternal Gospel,
Healing our infirmities,
Empowering our testimony of Jesus,
Impassioning us with visions of God’s coming kingdom.

We draw near Lord,
We draw near.
In the beauty of thy presence,
We draw near
And we call— on thee.
We draw near Lord,
We draw near.
In the day Lord of thy power,
We draw near
And we wait— on thee.
Pour out thy Spirit;
Pour out thy love.
Heal now thy people;
Heal in thy name.
For we wait— on thee.

Whatever is true, good, and beautiful,
On these things think about.
Imagine the new world,
Where love rights all wrongs,
Hope firms the soul,
Faith blossoms the open heart;
Where on the earth you stand,
God’s peace makes holy ground.

The Way Of Salvation
The gateway to paths of increase
Is the new birth, but not the fullness—
A baptism into the way of Salvation,
Where on paths of righteousness
The Spirit calls us
From outer courts to the holy place,
From the holy place, to the Holy of Holies;
Where filled with power—
The Spirit sends us back to the world.
Not a straight path
But a way of many returns to holy ground
Is this new and living Way;
From a place of thanksgiving, to a place of tarrying,
From a place of tarrying, to a place of empowering—
Through the love of God.
From glory to glory in increasing measure
Is this new and living Way
Where the wells of salvation
Impart new infusions of grace and glory—
Forming in us
Deeper affections of faith, hope and love.
From times of redemption,
To times of sanctification,
To times of Spirit baptism.
From times of Spirit baptism,
To times of working with God
For the healing of creation—
Perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

In This Moment His Kingdom Comes

There is much I cannot see,
darkened by this unknowing cloud.

Yet the wind blows
and through all the earth’s beauty I hear the sound
of a new world whispering my name.
Be still my soul,
for in the sacrament of this present moment, His kingdom comes.
So I say Father, may your kingdom come;
may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Monte Lee Rice

>
An Instructed Tongue
The Lord God has given me an instructed tongue;
to know the word that sustains the weary.
Morning by morning he wakens my ear to listen.
He opened my ear, and I have not drawn back.
Therefore have I set my face like flint,
And I know I will not be put to shame,
for He who vindicates me is near.
Now will I lift up my voice with a shout,
and proclaim His righteousness in the assembly of His Beloved.
Monte Lee Rice

The Faithfulness of Jesus
The faithfulness of Jesus—
Disarms the powers of fear, worry and shame;
Strips naked the illusions of this world’s pomp;
Bestows confidence in prayer,
and empowers us with the Spirit of unflinching courage,
unwavering tenacity, and undying love.
Monte Lee Rice

Love that won't let go

In the rising of my strength;
Love that will not let me go, wounded me.
Low he brought me down.
But in my weakness, my feet He made strong—
Here, on a rock, no man shall move.
Here my heart His Spirit pierced;
With flames bright in hope of my coming King;
Love that will not let go.
Monte Lee Rice

"And the blessing of God Almighty,
the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost,
be amongst you and remain with you always!"

Hello, dear friends! I sit here asking for prayers for a dear friend of mine who is stuck in a very long and difficult marriage and has been so robbed of her self-esteem that she isn't able to find a way out or what she has to do. There have been more complications that have arisen and she feels stuck more than ever. Her only prayer now is for God to show her what she must do. I won't use her name only to pray for 'luba's friend'. Thank you!:):pray:

Hello, dear friends!

Hi Luba Sis'

The last 'nine years', of my second marriage [of 30 years]
had me, in a very similar position :prayer:

I had 'circulatory problems' [AN INVISIBLE ILLNESS] later called "Peripheral vascular disease"

I was 'daily' called: "a waste of space", "a lazy 'barsteward' ", "a shammer"
~in front of our six children

My authority with them was undermined [with the children]
"Take no notice of what 'he' says.... I said, you can"
The youngest was 19 years, to date of the divorce

Since that time, I have had four angioplasty procedures
and bilateral inguineal hernia repairs [both sides of the groin] at different times

More-recently, I have been diagnosed with Severe LVSD [heart failure]
and been told, that I damaged my heart perhaps many years ago
and that it had bucked-up ~to self-repair [to be able to cope]
but that, now, that effort, has worn it out
and created a few knocks in it's pistons
moderate regurgitation of Atrial valve and mild regurgitation of Tricuspid valve
[in and out has problems] and is much less efficient
~aka: 'a broken heart'

For sure, we will :pray: for LUBA's FRIEND in Jesus' name
THE NAME, ABOVE ALL OTHER NAMES
That she be comforted
and strengthened
and be shown His light in her darkness

Jesus 'knows' her trials (today) and will see her through them

Ecclesiastes 3 (NIV) There is a time and a place for EVERYTHING
and, for everything, THERE IS A REASON
:prayer: That your friend, leans upon, the everlasting love
and is able to be patient [but attentive]
and can wait upon the Lord's direction
:amen:

I believe, that, when the Lord takes something bad away from us
~it is to give us 'something better'

your Bro'

Thank you for your prayes, dear Dave, and you are daily in mine!:)

I cried reading your post through what you have been and are going through as well! I SO abhor name-calling, right from a little kid hearing terrible, terrible name-calling between my parents. Sadly, my brother has followed in their footsteps in his own family, they all do the same toward each other.

Name calling is horrible abuse and erodes a person's self-esteem so badly that one has to do everything in one's power to get it back by telling oneself what a lovely human being one is, a child of God, and as I read somewhere "God don't make no junk".

Dave, You are such a lovely, lovely man and it's an honour to be your friend!:hug:

It is often so, that one will feel abandoned/ hopelessly alone
this, despite the efforts one has made [from the heart]
The FACT is that we are never alone... He IS
ALWAYS, with us :bow:

I am sure, that He leads us to trials, so that we might learn
just how great and powerful He is
Surely there can be no one wiser than The Lord :bow:
May the words of my heart be adequately and honestly expressed
and in so being, encourage others for the remainder of my days
:amen:
