  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Saraaah started to walk home,Glad that it had stopped raining. She hated when it rained.

my mom isn't expecting me for a while. I might as well use this time. I suppose i could go to the park and finish reading my book.

Sarah found her favorite tree and ant sat under it. She started to a book titled Rituals of Fire. Shae was almost done with her book when she noticed a girl from her class sitting accross the path on a bench, reading her own book. The girl was a total teacher's pet and geek.

Hopefully she's too engrosed ((hope thats a word)) in her book to notice me.

Sarah contined reading until a girl and guy came walking down the path gigling and chatting totally disturbing Sarah. Sarah couldn't take it any more, so she stood up and shouted

"Could you two love birds keep it down some of us are acctually trying to enjoy the park!!!"

Now there's no way i'm gonna finish my boook.

Smiles;)

I'll just have to find something else to do.

Sarah left and sat by the pond. She looked down and noticed a small catipillar crawling up her leg. She reached down and touched the insect with her finger. Suddenly the catipillar went up in Flames. Sarah laughed to herself.

Kate noticed a girl sit down across the path, but she just rolled her eyes and went back to her book.

"Could you two love birds keep it down some of us are acctually trying to enjoy the park!!!"

Kate looked up and rolled her eyes at a couple making out. Immature little...

The girl got up and went to the pond. As Kate watched, she laughed as she set a caterpillar on fire, burning it to ashes. Kate's eyes widened. It wasn't the fact that she'd killed a caterpillar--at the most, it would've only lived a month or two, provided it didn't get eaten first--but that the girl hadn't used a match or a lighter, only her finger. Kate smirked as the girl laughed. It appears I'm not the only strange one around here.

Jade blinked, staring down at him. "Really?" Really...are you just saying that, or is it the honest truth? She felt tempted to try out her "magic" on him, see what he really thought. But no...that wouldn't be very enthusing. Besides, she actually did like having him to talk to. Almsot like actually having friends. Friends. Are thsoe people you trust? People you talk to? Or just someone who does what you want?

Chase laughed and grinned up at Jade. "Yes, really." He glanced around the park and noticed Kate sitting a short distance away reading a book. He also saw another girl set a caterpillar on fire just by touching it and he blinked in surprise.

Having burned the catterpillar to ashes, Sarah was disappointed the fun was over. She searched for another. Atlas she found a fluffy red and black catterpillar climbing up a tree. Sarah has much practice and had already almost mastered her control over fire.

Sarah got up off the ground and walked over to the tree. The insect struggled as SArah pried it off the tree. She held it tight in her hand, until she slowly opened her crasp, holding a flaming caterpillar.

She looked around to see if any one was watching. Sarah had done so much of her practice in public, but people were usually to busy to notice, or thought they were seeing things. Sarah walked back to the lake, where she knew it wold be safer.

Standing practicaaly in the lake, Sarah looked down at the flame in her hand. She placed her opther hand over the flame and slowly raised her hand. As she raised her hand, the flame grew more and more. Soon Sarah held a ball of fire in her hand. She knew how to keep it from burning her, so she wasn't worried.

Sarah held the fireball in her hand and threw it into the lake.

"I am too good."

"Dude!" Mike laughed. "That's awesome!" Walking to his car, he looked back to see if Alex was following. "Hey...think you can do the same thing tomorrow? Or at least keep 'em from fixing the power 'til then?"
Alex followed Mike to his car.

"I dont know. It was kinda a freak accident. I was really angry at (forgot his name) and I started to yell and next thing I know Lightning stikes the schooland powers out. It's the ultimate prank. Speaking of which, when was the last time we messed with Mr. Flinderstein. I mean, just by having that name is like he's asking us to cause mischeif. I also here ther's a new sub for history cause Mrs. Goldern is having her baby.

So what fun are we going to have today?"

As the fireball landed in the lake, Chase used his ability and created a large wave and sent it crashing over Sarah. He then diverted his attention, smiling to himself. Serves her right for killing those caterpillars.

"How's about we head over to the park?" Mike suggested. "Yeah, it sounds dorky, I know, but I got a whole bunch more prank stuff yesterday."
------------------
Kate watched Chase send a wave crashing over Sarah and smiled slightly. Then, for some reason she couldn't comprehend, she called

"Look out!" Running closer, she whispered, "Unless you want an annoying lecture, knock it off. Old lady alert."

((Okay, sorry for being nowhere guys...I tried to post here twice and my 'puter froze both times. Roar. So I'm going to try it again. Currently, Jenny was home sick from school, but I'm going to try and get her to the park. Rachel goes post secondary to a local community college and works full-time at what I'm vaguely referring to as a sort of family-owned grocery store of sorts. Really vaguely referring to I guess. :) Anyways, time to post!))

Jenny finished her lunch without much more conversation. Her mom had gone off to do some housework, and the bird had flown off the window. She made her way upstairs into the bathroom before her mom started the laundry.

"I suppose I could take a shortcut through the park on my way to get my homework and stuff," Jenny smiled a little at her idea as she stpped into the shower.

Opening up her closet, she pondered over what to wear. since she wasn't going to school at all today, she wouldn't have to be so strict on what she wore. Finally she chose a black dress with ruffles on the wrists of the sleeves. She grabbed a pair of black tights and a pair of chunky black shoes. After getting dressed, she found a couple of accessories with purple on them to break up her mostly black outfit. Brushing through her silvery blonde hair, she decided to leave it down today, falling down her back. She put on her makeup, consisting mostly of eyeliner and mascara, and making her deep green eyes pop. Jenny loved her green eyes.

After grabbing her black messenger bag, personally decorated, she headed back down the stairs and called out a goodbye to her mom, who replied with something unintelligible over both the washing machine and the dishwasher.

Jenny took off down the sidewalk. She had a car that shared with her mom, but she definitely preferred walking everywhere. One of the reasons she loved living on the edge of town. The townhouse she lived in with her parents was close enough that everything was within walking distance, but it was on the edge enough that it didn't feel overtly like they were living in town.

Jenny((without the hat)) smirked at the looks she received as she walked. Small children pointing and adults whispering. Nothing new. Her friend Grace, who she was going to see, wore a pair of silverish-grey wings she made herself whenever she wasn't in school. Sometimes it actually seemed like they were attached to her back. They were in high school, why not experiment with clothing and style? Besides, people called her a witch anyways because she said she could talk to animals and such, why not dress in black too? They lived in Salem anyways.

She finally arrived at the park and almost immediately noticed a few people from school were there. she walked over to a short wall and sat down, leaning against it. She pulled her cell phone out of her bag and flipped it open, quickly texting Grace to meet her there. Closing the phone and putting it back into her bag, she pulled out a manga and began reading it as she waited.

-----------------------------------------------

"Shoot, I'm going to get done with this early," Rachel((with a thin jacket/hoodie thing on)) said to herself as she lifted another box up onto the shelf. Kevin had come to work inventory as well, so they were getting things done fast.

"We kept slacking off too," Kevin laughed, stacking some more totes next to the loading door, which they had opened since it was so nice out now, "I thought for sure we'd wasted enough time!"

Rachel laughed and threw a random bag of marshmallows at him. "Dang it! They didn't break open!" she said as he laughed and tossed them back to her, "They looked really good too!"

Both Rachel and kevin laughed as they kept wokring, reminding each other to slow down so they didn't get another project to work on.

Sarah looked out over the pond, proud of her amazing abilities. Suddenly out of the blue a large wave formed and came crashing down over her. Sarah stood up drenched from head to toe . She was furios. Sarah literally started to steam as the water evaporated off her hot body, soon she was dry. Then she became confused. There was no way that the wave was natural. After all it was a pond.

maybe there is someone else out there who could do amazing things just like me. I've gotta find t5his person.

She started to look around. She saw the nerd with the book, three little boys, the lovely couple and an old lady. Sarah really wanted to find this person.

They would probably be around my age. I'm going for the brainiac or love birds. But who would have the guts to??

Sarah walkde over to the bench and sat down. She took out her book and pretended to read it. She was really watching the three for any odd signs or giveaways.

(one of u could give something away or not. Your choice, but i suggest u do. its more interesting.))

Chrissy said her goodbyes and hung up. Now that she was all cried out, she wanted to just get out of the house.

She ran downstairs. Her father was already on the couch, beer in hand.

"I'm going out, Ralph. Don't wait up for me."((Throughout this, she'll refer to her dad by different names, but they'll all mean the same thing. It's kinda her own little joke. See if you can figure out the pattern. 25 blessings to the one who guesses first.))

She left the house and walked down the street. She turned back and looked at her house. What had once been a gorgeous two story colonial home was now a mess. Shutters tattered, paint chipping, lawn overgrown. She decided she would do some work over the weekend.

She turned and continued her way towards the park.By the time she got there, the bruises on her legs were beginning to ache, so she plopped down onto a bench near the water. There was a girl sitting a few feet ahead of her, but she couldn't tell who she was because her back was to her. It looked as if the girl was playing with something, but she couldn't see what it was. Just as she was about to lean forward to see, the girl tossed it and, moments later, a huge waved knocked her back. Chrissy got the last few droplets on her lap, though she was too tired to react. But the other girl sure did. She jumped up in shock. Then, something amazing happened. The girl started to steam!!! Literally sizzling the water off her body!! Chrisst sat in shock, and within minutes, the soaked girl was dry. She walked up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Excuse me, I don't mean to be a pest, but how did you do that??"

Chase was still standing under the tree Jade was sitting in and focused on the pond. Creating a small water bubble, he sent it floating toward Sarah and then dropped it on top of her head. He looked smug for a few moments and then leaned against the tree, pretending to ignore Sarah.

A huge splash interrupted Jenny's reading, as well as the birds and several small creatures who started shouting in shock and surprise. She jumped a little, looking up and seeing a girl she'd seen around school standing by the pond.

"Probably tossing rocks or something," Jenny mumbled ot herself.

"No, no, no! Didn't you see?" whistled a small sparrow as it landed on the wall Jenny was leaning against, "The water attacked her! It jumped up and tried to swallow her whole!" The sparrow jumped this way and that onto top of the short wall in giddy excitement.

"What do you mean?" she replied, looking up at the sparrow, "It's just a little pond. How could the water attack her? That doesn't make sense."

"I know! I know! I know!" the sparrow exclaimed, "I've never, ever, ever seen anything like that in my life!"

"You haven't been alive very long," another sparrow retorted, landing on the wall near the first sparrow. He sounded older, but Jenny was bad at guessing ages, especially with animals. "It's called a wave," the older sparrow continued, "It's something nature does that makes the water rise up and fall onto dry land, or a dry animal," he smickered at his own joke, cocking his head toward the once-drenched girl.

"I'm so confused, you two!" Jenny sighed loudly. The two sparrows, startled by the sudden volume in her voice, said quick apologies and flew off. Jenny looked back at the girl standing by the water. stretching her neck a little, she saw another girl from school sitting near the first girl. Jenny felt like she missed a very large piece of the puzzle, like coming into a movie after the first defining fight scene.

Putting her manga back in her bag, she stood up and walked over to the pond. She found a tree a few yards away from the water, but with a far better view of any further action that might take place. She pulled out her cell and checked to see if she missed a text or call from Grace, which she hadn't yet.
