She was not in her own home.
Indeed.

As a matter of fact she went waaaaaay out of her way to get to his apartment that even was on a different floor and was most distinguishable by a red mat outside his apt door.

No, she was NOT in her own home.

"I drove home very tired the other day and ran over a family..." that's an accident. And guess what, you'll still go to prison for that. When you accidentally break into someone's home and shoot them with intent to kill, then after recognizing your mistake you do not render first aid and CPR immediately, you've committed murder. Her uniform was clean because she didn't attempt to help the man she just shot. And that is why this verdict was correct. Being a police officer does not give you license to kill freely; unfortunately, too many believe that and think Botham Jean's death was okay and acceptable.

how many woman are raped & killed each year in their own homes by men
she was defending herself as a man was where he didn't belong

the apt was exactly in same spot only on different floor
people don't notice things when they're tired
I’ve done it ! all the doors in my building are identical. You notice right away that the furniture and walls are different. Even if you see another person . Even if he said something derogatory. The surroundings aren’t yours and you see that right away . I don’t believe her story

Apparently it was not locked.

LOL! Yes, that has GOT to be what happened.....

and then there's the entirely different floor...and the red mat outside the apt door that surely MUST'VE been hers that told her right away, after she went to an entirely different floor, that she was "home".

It MUST'VE been that she got "lost" on the way to her apt....

Yeah, that's it....

exactly!

hasn't anyone here worked 14 hrs besides me?
you're exhausted

Seriously, Christine?

i've also worked long hours in crisis intervention work and hotlines, (including at the police dept.) etc. and overnights to boot with "double" and sometimes "triple" shifts....but by golly i've NEVER gone to a different floor of my apt building, especially with a red mat outside the door, and somehow gotten inside that apt and claimed that the person i just "invaded" was "threatening" me.

Do you see anything wrong with this picture?

I understand being overtired to the point of stupid. But she immediately went for cover up rather than calling for help . She wasn’t THAT tired !

it's pretty easy to do when tired so can understand going to the wrong floor whether she walked up or took elevator

does anyone know if it was too many stairs or she hit wrong elevator button?
She parked her car on the wrong level in the parking garage. She parked on level 4 instead of level 3. That's why she thought that she was at her own apartment.

you are super woman to not make any mistakes

cause in this country people DO make serious mistakes when tired

-look at overworked truck drivers getting in accidents
-overworked interns making mistakes
-overworked parents leaving kids in hot cars because in their tired minds, they already dropped kid at daycare

and
-overworked police office going to wrong apt exactly on same distance on floor, just wrong floor

Sooooo both of those bullets she shot into him was a "mistake"? And a neighbor who heard "voices" before the two shots were fired was a "mistake"? And going to a "higher" floor was a "mistake"? And that red mat outside his apt door (a dead give-away) according to neighbors who said only HE had a red mat at all, was a "mistake"?

In addition, when she called 911, there was nothing about her "trauma" of thinking this man was threatening to her.

In addition, just WHEN did she decide that she had invaded someone else's home?

In addition, why did she fire "two" bullets into this man?

This "home invasion" and then fatally killing the legal occupant of this apt with not just one, but two bullets was a "mistake"?

Seriously?

@christine40
I'd be for her getting manslaughter or even negligent homicide expect for one thing.
The medical examiner said the bullet trajectory was downward. If he was walking towards her when she shot him it would be impossible for the bullet to have a downward trajectory. She lied.
Being a trained police officer she knew that she should only shoot if her life was in immediate danger. It's more likely that he was getting up from a chair, sofa, or even the floor.
