  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Naah. You just told him that it might work if he did. And as was said, there is your way(THE WRONG WAY) and there is GOD's WAY(THE RIGHT WAY).

How about this? what God has joined together let no man put assunder.

John tells us God is love, he who dwells in love dwells in God and God in him.

So if a man loves a woman and she loves him then they are joined together by love.

So, in other words, is it like God saying, "IT'S MY WAY, OR THE HIGHWAY"?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

That's exactly what it's like. We can do whatever we want. But God is STILL going to judge us according to HIS standard, not ours.

What you have seen work is not at issue. The issue is obedience to God. WE can make all sorts of things work. That does not mean that God blesses it.

that is ur opinion

In accordance with God's WOrd, you call it whatever you want. It's STILL His FACT. :) And it is His FACT and not YOUR OPINION by which men will be judged.

Yet another verse that you are taking out of context.

it is ur opinion that the bible is Gods word and fact

You call it whatever you like. It's the fact that you will be judged by when you come before His throne. And at that time, you tell Him that the Bible was not His Word.

You call it whatever you like. It's the fact that you will be judged by when you come before His throne. And at that time, you tell Him that the Bible was not His Word.

again that is ur opinion that such a scenario will happen just like its a muslims opinion that ur the one heading to hell for proclaiming the trinity

Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? If not, there is no need for me to attempt to explain the context. :)

And again, you call it what you like. You and the Muslims will stand before God's throne and be judged by His Word as given in the Holy Bible. Present your case to Him at that time and await the reply.

As for today, you've been told the truth and will be judged by that truth.

Please everyone help me
i have such a simple question
Im taking my christianity really seriously now. I want make God proud of me by honouring him and making him happy and showing my faith
BUT
is it bad that my girlfriend (who i intend to marry one day) is not christian?
Is it an insult in God or will it upset him.
I want to help her see the light
but can we be boyfriend and girlfriend or will this upset God a lot.
Please help me im so confused!
ps. bible quotes helpful

MANY MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE

It is not that GOD will hate you for marrying a non-Christian. It is that GOD knows that with marriage to a non-Christian comes heartbreak and a tendency to lose ones' commitment to their faith. Do you really want to marry an individual who either wants the children brought up in another faith or perhaps even worse, a partner who doesn't care what the children believe... You may come to believe that a Christian education is superior to a Public education. Is your spouse going to be committed to this. What happens if your spouse gets ill. Will you worry about where they are headed the day they die.... When you are young, such things seem so very far away. I still sometimes see myself as a 25 year old blond longhaired hippie, however, the blond is grey, the hair is shorter, and a dress suit is no longer out of the question. What I am saying is if TV or music becomes an issue, is a non Christian going to support your values. When troubles come (and they will) is this non Christian going to stick it out... I'd lay it to the LORD and then talk to this girl. If she loves you see will seek to understand your LORD...

I thought this was Christian Forums? It appears I've made a mistake and have entered worldly heathen forums?

Biblically it is a sin to be "unequally yoked" (see 1st Corinthians 6). If you take your Christianity seriously, then do what is right in God's Word, and not what you WANT to do via your fuzzy feelings. To do what you want is selfish pride which was the original characteristic that Lucifer had with God and struck him down.

I hope you do the right thing biblically.

everytime me and my girlfriend do something, i do it wholeheartedly and not just because my hormones are driving me insane. I treat her with the most care i can and make sure that shes comfortable with whatever we're doing....honestly i know that you're supposed to be married whenever you have sex, but today's times are so messed up that people are getting "married" just to have sex. i believe as long as your relationship is strong and caring then sex is fine, just as long as its something thats not premiscuous and caught up in temptation.......

Your opinion on what is God's Word is not God's fact(s). It is nothing more than your opinion on God's word.

fixed.

i find it funny how we have actually have a christian who is married to a non-christian posting in this thread, yet his opinions and experiences are immediately discounted because he doesn't subscribe to a particular interpretation completely taken out of context.

You can find it as funny as you like. If the Christian in this thread to whom you refer married a nonbeliever and was a Christian when he did so, then he was still being disobedient to God.

God's Word does not become null and void just because Christians also disobey it and do what they want.

And maybe your atheistic-biased opinion carries no weight when it comes to advising Christians in the things of God of which you continue to show you lack the discernment for.

I am not impressed by the constant red herrings that are tossed out to make it appear as though disobedience to God is somehow okay because it is done for the sake of the woman or man to have their own rights and beliefs.

I'm not impressed by your suggestion that non-believers don't merit equal rights and respect.
