Me too Bev... I'm a songwriter and many of my songs are of the quieter nature... well I'll rephrase that. 80% are slow, and of those, it's about 50/50 between reflective and quiet verses slow but rousing and loud.

With regards to your personal style of worship, believe me, I understand that side of it. And I will say that the jumping isn't what I'm about... I just feel that I can be free to do so when I want to... and most times I actually DON'T! BUT I am free to do so... and I do it at a point where I feel I'm at a point of celebrating the love of GOd and all He's done... I am guessing that's the main reason people do jump around at these things, it's about celebrating the power of God and the fact He is the victor and WE ARE FREE! BUT again, hold nothing against the other side of it... IMHO it's ALL worship, and it ALL can please Him.

Ps, Can someone tell me how long they have been around what church they originated from. Sorry if thats allready been posted as i have not read them all.
Thanks

I've been in the Anglican church for my whole life, Matt :) And you've raised a very good verse for us all to reflect on - whatever way, shape or form our worship takes, if it glorifies our Lord and is focussed on Him alone, then it is acceptable to God.

That said... I haven't been to PS per se, only when they visited Hillsong Conference last year. So I cannot speak with a great deal of knowledge on how "out there" the worship at PS might be... but at the conference I had no quams... again, i haven't liked every PS song ever, but nor is every Hillsong a world-beater, or every Third Day number... not even every single hymn. BUT there are gems in amongst the lot of them.

Well, I've only read the posts on this page, so forgive me if its all been said before, but I've got a few points I'd like to mention:

1. Sascha, I agree 100%. I grew up in pentecostal churches and am now in a conservative Baptist church because they have a reverance and holy fear for God that is sadly lacking in the "God give ME ..." pentecostal churches (I know not all are like that but all the ones near me are!).

2. Bev, I can see your point, but I would much rather see thousands of young people going wild for the One and Only True God rather than some pop idol.

3. Gentileone, I believe Planet Shakers started in Paradise Church in Adelaide (David Evans' old turf and uncle's church) - I could be wrong, but that's where the CDs I have have been recorded.

4. Living Worship, what a great example - the Bible says that David made such a fool of himself when worshipping God that his favourite wife scoffed at him and the Lord punished her by making her barren!

For me, it all comes down to my favourite word - BALANCE!

My last post took so long for me to write that everyone pushed me onto the next page without me knowing it!

And sorry LW but I have to disagree on one point here - every Third Day number IS a winner - I can't wait to see them at Sonfest this coming Saturday night! Yippee!!!!!!!

 I'm sure I do know what you mean Bev.

PS and Paradise... to my knowledge it's not exactly a breakaway. It's really a youth movement that was born out of that church. They were initially a SA movement but I sense they are going to get even bigger than youth alive... I could be wrong but that may be the way they head... they are still AOG but they are concentrating on being a ministry that is about reaching the unsaved, while also being a ministry platform for those seeking to get involved in serving the church. I think... :sorry:

I'll sort him out when I see him Tuesday week at the first Sydney concert - but then again, if Cherryl's gonna be accompanying him, I might need to make it very very gentle! ^_^

Sue ... P/S started at Paradise? They are a breakaway from the AOG then?

Yep just confirmed my info on the Planet Shaker's website. They operate under the AOG arm and started in 1997 as a youth movement led by Russell Evans, pastor at Paradise Church, Adelaide.

Sorry Sue... yeah I agree, what I should have said was not every 3D song is a congregational worship masterpiece... but every one is a winner, agreed

A music festival which was national but now I think it's just a QLD affair... Third Day's first stop is there...

Sonfest is a three day, non-stop concert at Boonah showgrounds. All the local Christian acts will be playing on various stages, there's a battle of the bands, and Third Day and Audio Adrenaline will be worshipping and rocking in the evenings! Is anyone else from here going? Rob? Sascha? Anyone?
