Have we got a funny accent Walking? I didn't think we had one at all! Yep... you've got the humour, you'd fit right in with us in Australia!

I went to Planetshakers, yes I jumped around lots, yes I had fun and yes my legs have hurt simply because I'm not used to that strain on my muscles but I praised God with everything I had. I worshipped Him in spirit and in truth and it wasn't all about me. It wasn't about emotion although there was a lot of that and it wasn't a peer pressure thing either. I chose to jump all on my own and sometimes I wouldn't jump, I'd sit and just pray. There were slower songs as well as the faster ones and they weren't all about me although I do agree that maybe there were too many songs all about me....me....me....But those songs were meant to build an atmosphere and to get our hearts expecting God to move in an awesome and powerful way, which he did.
Sorry if it seems I'm babbling a bit but I read some of other peoples views on it and I think to fully understand it, you have to go and experience it and not talk about what you think goes on. See if u can find someone with a music dvd from it and watch it or something. Just so you can see what its like before you start to pick at what we are doing and what others are doing.
But yeah, I can see where a lot of you are coming from but Planetshakers are Christian. They are not from a cult or anything and they are doing an awesome work in Australia and around the world!

Chickette, I agree 100%, although I don't even think that music DVDs do justice to the experience!

It was very strange to me. It wasnt like anything i thought it would be. Basically it was a concert... with a mosh pit and screaming fans. The music was ok but the lyrics were terrible... with stuff like "somebody get your praise on". When i sing songs to God it is worship to Him not about me jumping around and showing off to my friends.
If you went to planetshakers what did you think??
Nice post little bro... all of us need to be open to a point to other people's "style" of worship - that also goes for us younger folk, appreciating the older generation's music. I hear a bit of slagging of the old hymns too... and as much as I don't like too many of them MUSICALLY I think they teach many a great lesson LYRICALLY.ultima9999 said:Also, I would like to add that age isn't really much of a deal. Russell Evans is 37 and I'm sure a few other people in the team are over 30. My youth leader is 30 and he enjoyed it. I suppose it is a problem when you're over 40 or 45 and you can't handle the loud music. But seriously though, its good to keep your mind open to worshipping and praising God in different ways, as long as it is not sinful or directly contradicting the Bible.
