"explain my skepticism"? We (I was with family) saw an unexpected phenomenon while looking for the ISS and after we went inside some one searched for info on it from the various sites that track sky objects.

I like to know what I am seeing, so I am curious when I see something unexpected.

Ghosts, no, I never thought they were real, even when I thought there was a "Holy" one. (I thought the term "Holy Ghost" was weird, even amusing, but that's what happens when you grow up after Vatican II.)

Explain what precisely?

If I haven't met a ghost here are some possibilities:

1. There are no ghosts.
2. There are no ghosts in the buildings I spend time in during the time of day when ghosts are active (based on reports that seems to be nights).
3. Ghosts don't like the flavor of my blood. (No, wait that's why I haven't been attacked by vampires.)
4. Ghosts are scared of me.
5. Ghosts are real, but most sightings are false .(Really they're kind of shy.)

I'm not sure why you even want to talk about ghosts? Your original mention of "them" was in response to my post about the UAF I'd seen (and later identified making it an IOO, identified orbiting object.) Nothing about that post suggested -- hmm, I wonder if he believes in ghosts?
