Ever notice that religion doesn't seem concerned with being credible or logically explainable? For instance, if the apostles and authors of the gospels were trying to perpetuate a fraud they didn't stick with a believable story if they were appealing simply to logical, skeptical minds.
In my theology Macaventia Melchizedek was an incarnate, full grown adult who appeared on earth at a time of crisis, a low point in spiritual evolution. The Melchizedeks are an order of celestial beings who perform special functions. At the time of the default of Adam and Eve our world went into receivership under the supervision of the Melchizedeks.
Macavnetia founded a colony of disciples in Salem, now known as Jerusalem. He was actually the visible representative of God who made the covenant with Abraham but hundreds of years later the Hebrew redactors had God himself coming down and dealing directly with Abraham.
After roughly 90 years Mechizedek retired to his tent one evening and vanished just as he had appeared but not before imparting a monotheistic religion and missionaries who went out to the 4 corners of the earth carrying the message.

Not hardly. I'm sorry, but you've chosen to accept an anonymous, fictitious book, as some universal truth - and you probably feel special because of it? I'm sorry, but it's no more/less "special" than any other work of fiction. In fact, you could probably glean more "truths" about life from reading Stephen King or Shakespeare.
