Pennsylvania's top election official has decertified the voting machines of a sparsely populated county that disclosed that it had agreed to requests by local Republican lawmakers and allowed a software firm to inspect the machines as part of an "audit" after the 2020 election.

[Acting SoS] notified Fulton County officials in a letter Tuesday that the inspection violated state law. It was done in a manner that “was not transparent or bipartisan” and the firm had “no knowledge or expertise in election technology,” Degraffenreid wrote.

Under the supervision of Fulton County’s information technology director, employees of the West Chester-based software company Wake TSI took backups of data on computers used in ballot-counting, “complete hard drive images” of the computers and ”complete images” of two thumb drives that had been used on election night to transfer results files, the county elections director wrote.

Wake TSI went on to work briefly on a widely discredited partisan “audit” in Arizona after the state's Senate Republicans used their subpoena power to take control of Maricopa County’s voting machines, a review fueled by Trump's baseless claims.

Wow! What a waste. It appears that the county will have to pay for their error, I hope they learn from it. Second, you can tell that the news services are not fooled by this. Notice how they use scare quotes every time that they use the word audit. They might as well have called it what it was, a fraudit. Lastly, why even audit that county in the first place? It was 80% Trump. What do they think they could have gained from that wasted effort?

So much for the privacy and sanctity of one's vote! When will these Republicans adhere to the principles of democracy and stop "kissing the ring" of twice-impeached Donald Trump who lost the election?

....a narrative to drive fund raising. Curiously, Trump's PAC isn't helping out....imagine that?

Former president Donald Trump’s political PAC raised about $75 million in the first half of this year as he trumpeted the false notion that the 2020 election was stolen from him, but the group has not devoted funds to help finance the ongoing ballot review in Arizona or to push for similar endeavors in other states, according to people familiar with the finances.

Instead, the Save America leadership PAC — which has few limits on how it can spend its money — has paid for some of the former president’s travel, legal costs and staff, along with other expenses, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the group’s inner workings. The PAC has held onto much of its cash.

I do wish that Trump himself could be forced to pay for the trouble that he has caused, but he is too well lawyered up for that. Sometimes I really do not like the U.S. legal system at all.

ROFL

That you so much for this.

"Trump is too well lawyered up"

Does Trump has ANY lawyers not being considered for disbarment or worse?

What is the record of his lawyers on all the election cases (over 60)?

And then there are all the cases in process or under consideration, against him personally, against those in his campaign, in his administration, in his company, in his family, his company, and those in his administration. And we are not yet even considering those cases referred to the DOJ and dropped (5 were against cabinet secretaries).

One talent that Trump has is to find lawyers that can protect him from his misdeeds. Of course eventually he does not pay them. Take Rudy as an example. Sadly there are just more lawyers ready to do his dirty work for him.

Yes, there are lawyers who will take orders. Some will be disbarred.

I do believe that being suspended is the first step.

Usually that is the case. Sometimes the first step is indictment or even conviction of a felony, as it was in the case of Cohen.

This is what it looks like when you genuinely care about voting integrity: You stop the undesirables from tinkering with your voting machines, not from voting in them.
