Depends on if I need anti-inflammatory (then I take ibuprofen from otc to perscription strentgh or the 12 hr anti-inflammatriry if I need longer relief like naprosyn), for gen aches and pains I take acetaminophen. If sinus related then different meds work better aimed at decongestion, etc. depends on what is source of pain. . .

If you take ibuprofen, do you take it with food?

Always, Always, Always take ibuprophen with food or right after you've eaten. It will burn the mess out of your stomach if you don't. I take ibuprophen pretty often and it seems to be great for me as long as I take it with food. What have you heard bad about it?

I took ibprophin for a long period of time on my doctors orders, no less, and it ended up destroying my stomach, NOW i have to take zantac or prilosec every day of my life in order not to have horrible stomach pains, the doc had me taking it for arthritis pain and swelling. NOW, i get a monthly perscription for ten doses of lorcet, I only take it when i have my worst pain, and see the doc once a month to insure i ma not dependant on it, most months i dont use all of it. But, all OTC pain releivers now cause me great stomach pain. Not even two asprin for a headache is bareable now. And if i take an OTC pain reliever more than twice in the same day or two, i spit up blood... NOT FUN!
