Ok I HATE being single!!

am I insane to hate being single?

Well, Marilyn French said, "Love is insanity." The quote goes “Well, love is insanity. The ancient Greeks knew that. It is the taking over of a rational and lucid mind by delusion and self-destruction. You lose yourself, you have no power over yourself, you can't even think straight.”

But, the next questions are 'who is Marilyn French that you want to take her word for it?' and 'do you really want to be what the world considers sane?'

Lots of questions here. What is insanity? What is rational and lucid? Delusion? Does one find love by making a logical, rational list of criteria and pursuing that proactively? How do you feel about self-destruction for love? Giving power of yourself over to someone else? I don't think straight anyway ...but losing the ability to think straight in the distraction of another? Hmmm...it makes the heart pound a little harder and releases the butterflies, doesn't it? Do we really want to go that far?...for what?...for whom?

So, the last questions are...Why do you hate being single, Hope? And, do you want to be insane?

lol...yes, I know...so many questions. I have to remind myself of my own tendency in that direction when my 8yo gets going. Thanks for reading though, no matter how many half or full books you decide to write.

I guess I am still in the same conundrum. I always want to know WHAT game we are playing (in the game of life relatively speaking only) and HOW are we going to play (like what plays are we going to run etc). God NEVER tells me, but I ALWAYS want to know lol. Like if He told me, "Listen Michelle, you are just going to have to be single until I come", even though I might not like that, I could adjust and move forward. It's the NOT knowing EVER what's going to come that bothers me, but such is life is it not? I mean IF I really DID know what was going to happen, I'm sure I would probably not be down for it, hence why God does NOT tell me. Like if He would have told me my husband was going to die and I would have to raise my kids by myself, I would have thrown a temper tantrum or something I just would not ever be OK with that, so....I understand WHY He doesn't tell me and yet I spin my wheels trying to understand what is supposed to happen,or why something happened, or IF I am even remotely close to being in His will, in my life. But that's just me.....Conundrum

Ya. I've only once had a long term plan of 5 yrs. That was the time I spent in college. When I started thinking about a job after college, I never would have guess the job I ended up in. I didn't even know there was such a job out there.

While I believe God knows all, I also think God enjoys watching us grow and love our life just as we enjoy watching our kids, especially when they are very young.

Why do I hate being single, its not good for man to be alone and Ive been alone for alotta lotta years. So its not good for me to be alone and this is driving me insane

Hope I live in the south east of the US, in the so called "Bible Belt", and an honest single Christian man would be in high demand here. Especially one who actually desires to be married!

I am curious if you have any standards or requirements limiting your options. Are you waiting for someone near your age who has also never been married or are you open to dating divorced or widowed women? What are your feelings about children? I would think that if you have a desire to have your own you may have date a bit younger. Of course dating younger seems to be the norm for men.

I don't think any standards you have for yourself would necessarily be wrong mind you, I am just curious. I guess I have a hard time imagining a man having trouble finding a wife considering the social climate where i live.

I am sorry you have not found the mate you so desire. I hope that God will place that special person in your life soon. I know that being alone is hard. I am struggling with finding my purpose during this unexpected time of singleness in my own life. I pray it isn't what God plans for me long-term.

Gotta get me a transfer to the bible belt, could it cope with a Irish piggy? My standards are very high, my prospective mate must be seated in heavenly places, now that is high, high!

I actually have a very good friend who is married to a nice man from Ireland. They are both wonderful Christian people too, sweet family. He was already living here when they met. I can't actually say I know how he came to live here... but he is definitely staying now!

I am sure there are nice women in your homeland as well. I have a cousin who was a bit older before she married. Some of the family gave her a bit of a hard time about it. She always said she was waiting on God's best. She eventually got it too. They now have two beautiful daughters and a lovely home. Hold on to your hope and to your standards!

I am just stating how I feel, which to me is the truth JMHO. We get what we say and our words can define or limit us if we let them. On the other hand, we can try to be positive with our words and maybe, just maybe some of the negative energy will subside.

I am just stating how I feel, which to me is the truth JMHO. We get what we say and our words can define or limit us if we let them. On the other hand, we can try to be positive with our words and maybe, just maybe some of the negative energy will subside.
