You know the expensive paint + primer they sell at Lowe's, Home Depot, and other improvement stores????? Don't waste your money! We bought some because it is suppose to cut down on time and just be better all around but do not buy into this lie. It not only did not save us time or money (in the long run) but was actually worse then just painting on a coat or two of primer and then the paint color. What should have been a one or two (at most) coats turned into three, frankly it was so bad we should have put one coat of primer on the walls before we painted with the paint + primer and the previous color wasn't even that dark. What should have only taken about a gallon of paint took almost 2. So yeah....more money, more time, plus we had to constantly keep an eye out of drips because for some reason the paint was slightly runny....we had a few other issues with the paint. I thought maybe it was just that paint but every gallon we bought (we've painted 4 rooms now all with the same issues) of that sort had the same issues. Anyway, praise God we are finished painting for the next few weeks!

What brand did you use. I haven't done a lot of painting but I have found the mid tier of Behr to be good. It dripped a lot.... but it seemed a solid paint.

We used Olympic this time but we tried Valspar the time before, both rubbish. Honestly the Walmart brand did better than both of those brands and is cheaper. In all the years I've been painting I have never had paint run so badly or cover so poorly as Olympic and Valspar.

One of my rooms has red walls, and I'm hesitant to change the color. If I do, I'll go with multiple coats of primer followed by an expensive paint + primer blend, just to be on the safe side.

My off topic rant for the day....
I recently moved so I am hunting for a church to call home. After doing some searching on the interzweb I found one I thought I'd like to visit. I should have known when I could hear the music from inside the building, out in the parking lot, to go somewhere else but I decided to try it anyway. I made a mistake...after two songs I had to leave. IF your music is so LOUD that it can cause physical pain then it is too LOUD. My ears are hurting so bad and I was sitting in the back. Not only are my ears hurting but I am still experiencing pain in other areas of my body, though thankfully it has mostly died down. Every time a chord was played I could feel it vibrate through my body which was accompanied by pain. I left in pain, frustrated, and frankly a bit upset from the whole experience. I have been to concerts without having problems for goodness sake!

I feel like some people just don't get the concept of customer service. More of a complaint than a rant, I guess... lol.

When Hollywood remakes/continues a show/movie horribly they have tons of immediate offerings to take the story further right away.

They do something tight like cobra kai where they continue the story and do so correctly, they make me wait a year for a second season.....

All I can do is rewatch the first season.... which makes me want season two more now.

School shootings or other mass shootings are not mental health related. It is evil, plain and simple. Some may have mental health issues aswell, but they make a choice to murder tons of innocents that has nothing to do with their illness. By saying it's mental health, you're grouping me and others with major illnesses in groups with mass killers and making us potential threats for major evils.

These things do not help the cause of mental health, but harm it.

So I found out today via the neighbor behind us that the neighbor beside us has been gossiping about us for the last week to about 5 other neighbors. "What about?" You may ask. Well, I'll tell you. But a little back history first:
Last year a woman and her hubby moved into the house next door to us, they're in their 80s, both very vibrant people, Christian, hubby was a pastor for a long time and they're those types that are there at church when the doors open every Wed & Sun and always going to some kind of function. They always have big crowds over for family dinners and holidays.
My mom one day asked them a question about their plumbing and asked for a recommendation, from that moment on the woman would text us, as us if we needed anything, she would constantly volunteer to bring us some dinner, she helped us with some spring cleaning on our porch, she multiple times even mowed our yard and when thanksgiving rolled around she was very very sweet and brought us over two platefuls of food for the each of us and also two platefuls of desserts.
Late last year though she of her own free will apparently hired a man to work on our roof. We hadn't asked her to do this, this is just something she did. On the day apparently that it was going to happen she had tried to contact us a few times but my phone is always on the fritz and I never received her calls. She didn't call my mom, nor did she come over or get in contact with me over facebook. But her granddaughter finally got in touch with me and told me what was going on, I apologized profusely about not receiving her calls and said we would love to get a new roof and maybe we could reschedule. We didn't hear back from our neighbor for quite awhile. One day my mom asked if everything was okay, and she said things were fine. So few days later, my mom had been really sick and there were a few personal items I needed and asked her if she could stop by the store and get said items. She said "I can't do anything for you and your Mother until I have a talk with the two of you". We never have had that talk, but we also haven't been available to do so, so it's just kind of been a wedge between us.
So skip ahead to now, our yard yes is in need of mowing but it's actually not THAT bad (It's been worse, especially in 2015 right after Dad passed) but apparently this neighbor has went to 5 other neighbors and talked about how bad our yard is, our roof, and that we're bad neighbors and if we don't keep up with our property we might as well move out.
I find this very odd behavior for a neighbor, a Christian one at that who takes pride in helping others. It makes me think shes doing it all for the glory of herself and not for God.
She has also told other neighbors to get items out of their yard, she even told our neighbor behind us to "put a gate in your fence so I can open it and come by sometime".........She also told this neighbor her grandchildren -will- play in her yard because hers is bigger. (????)

Sounds like Homeowners' Association-esque nonsense, all right. Unless you are burning a cross in your yard, that woman definitely has no right to dictate how you and mother keep up with your abode, or gripe about it to other people when it doesn't meet her personal standards. And having someone go to work on your roof without even telling you, that is downright intrusive. .... Was she planning on paying for it? Or ... was this going to be like a Trump and the Mexican Border Wall thing?

I know, I feel like if she wants to be a part of that kind of neighborhood (homeowners' association type neighborhood) then maybe she should be the one to move.

Another thing she did was last year, even when things were good between us she had hired some shady men to work on some trees in her backyard and they asked about a tree in our property (she told us all this via text) and she said that that was our property but "they could trade their boat and those lawnmowers if you want to cut it down" lol Like she actually texted this to us asking if we would trade and said she'll wait on an answer to give them.....

Noo she was not planning on paying for it. This would be us paying for it. The thing was at first we thought it was kind of sweet, even though our wires got crossed and we didn't even realize she was mad, we thought it was sweet she was going to all that trouble just to find someone for us.
