Anxiety certainly is a lot of trouble, I can agree with that. God understands and cares about your anxiety enough to ask you to cast your anxieties on Him as told by 1 Peter 5:7. What I usually do is vent to God when I am alone. Yes, I am brought to tears by the end of it but it feels so much better to do so than to bottle it all up just to please a worldly culture of masculinity. God is above our ways, traditions and values.

An observation I made is that King Saul was said to be tormented by evil spirits and was calmed down by David playing the lyre. It was last year I managed to help my mother's panic attack by playing a lyre song called "Hurrian Hymn #6" on my phone. I suspect King Saul was suffering from an anxiety attack and needed music to calm his nerves. The Bronze Age people at the time probably didn't know how to describe a panic/anxiety attack.

Don't feel ashamed about your anxiety. God is aware that mental health problems exist as he's the guy who designed the brain, the most complex organ in the human body to which we as humans still know least about.

Perhaps some music can help ease your anxiety? This helped my mother when she was having a panic attack like I said earlier.

Thank you so much for this post. :hug: I know, it's not fun, sometimes when I get these thoughts I just want to go to bed and cry. But I try to get through it, because God is with me and so are friends and family. I will have to try your suggestions and check out that music. :musicnotes:

I worry about my health a lot too...it seems like everything in my life is ironic. When I was a kid I didn't care a lot about my health but I felt good, now I try to take care of myself but I (often) feel miserable. I worry about how things from my childhood that I couldn't control might be causing some problems I have now or might cause new problems in the future. I'm allergic to some foods that would be good for me otherwise, and I fear for my health because I can't eat them. I'm too young to be dealing with so much. :( It scares me about how my health might be when I'm older if I even make it that long. No matter what I tell myself it doesn't help; I just don't have the answers and whenever I'm reminded about something that worries me the fears come back.

Yes, I think I might be overreacting here a bit because I don't have anything serious right now, but I just can't help being frustrated and afraid, possibly from the anxiety.

It will be okay, Knightess. You said you have been doing pretty well as of late, right? So this is just one day of setback, I hope? Can you try to just look on the bright side of that, that overall in comparison to last year you seem to be doing better? I am sorry this is happening to you, though. :(

It seems @Wayholka has really helped you, here. Please take heed of his words. :)

In some ways I am doing better, but in other ways maybe not so much. It isn't easy, but I can try.

Thanks for your words. :) And Wayholka certainly did give me some good ideas.

Is it okay to rant about one's self? I'm not even sure this is a rant.

Why is it that when you think you have an old enemy beat that it pops up when you least expect it? Do somethings simply take longer to defeat, like negative thought patterns? EX. Have to fight it over and over again but the battles become fewer? I don't know. I've hit a bump today...or had a rough day and allowed my emotions too much leeway and for a little while an old enemy returned. Thankfully he didn't stay around long but I still feel the remnants and it doesn't feel good. Hopefully they will fade soon.

I think I understand what you mean, Traveler. I will pray that this enemy of yours will put away forever if possible (I presume you are not speaking of a physical opponent), and that your true self remains, even if a bump in the road ever happens again to bring that same old enemy back for an unpleasant visit. :angel:

That was a bad episode of worry yesterday, but I've calmed down today. I've got to stop reading things that trigger those fears (that's what caused yesterday's troubles). Getting out more would probably help to get my mind off my worries, but that's easier said than done.

I think I know what you mean, and I'm sure it isn't fun. Will definitely pray for you, for this enemy to go away so you'll feel better. :pray:

I have my ups and downs. Today i felt like a dark shadow had risen overhead in my soul, but then i remembered Psalms 23 and how it always seems to calm the storm. I find rest in that Psalm.

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the Lord
Forever.

I wonder how many work hours are wasted because of smartphones... Good grief. It used to be that if you had nothing to do at work, you cleaned your workstation, organized, found a way to improve your workplace, etc. Now I think 50% of the people at my work pull out their smartphone when they "run out of work." There's always work to do! Always!

But in all seriousness, I really do hope you get better soon. Being sick sucks and you'll be in my prayers.

Thanks so much,Can you also pray my leg feels better? I fell down some stairs
earlier skinning my knees and my left leg is really hurting to the point of it being tough to walk.
