A 3 bedroom house will cost here on average $1600 a month. Minimum wage is $14.75 and hour. There is just no way people can afford to live here really. Plus pretty much all the factory jobs have closed down or moved offshore.

Well good for you, but you live in a different country. Its not like people from nz arnt already going to australia for a better life, in which they are treated as second class citizens. But hey, you want to give up this land for desert, or work in a mine then, its up to you. You make your choices. Thing is once you leave, you cant really come back.

So many people immigrate to nz and its just the same. I hear heartbreaking stories of people giving up all their family and home just for a better life. But sometimes that better life doesnt materialise.

Most manufacturing has moved to China no matter where you are but here in the states we have enough people who like to own their own business and they have made a new wave of industry here in the states.

California and New York both have raised the min wage to $15 and hour but they are also both very expensive places to live at.

Here in middle America such as Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri it is very affordable.

I used to travel a lot but I got sick of it. Its nice to see the world but there reeally is no place like home. I think there is a fundamental thing for humans is to have a home with family.

Its only auckland thats really expensive, other places arent so much but if you say you from auckland, because non aucklanders are so parochial they automatically hate anyone north of the bombay hills lol.

You do need capital and a partner to start a business. But I am over it. If theres a good idea thats viable, then sure. But small towns often dont have the base or infrastructure to be able to support that. Yea our country is messed up. Thank you national and labour parties.

If we had something like a silicon valley, maybe but we dont really, its basically tourism or agriculture. The film industry could be bigger but recently that has been cut back. There used to be plenty of work in that.

I have a friend who wants me to move to the Marshal Islands with him. He owns on island and he says all we would do is fish and chase women. Too bad its sinking or I may take him up on it.

Huh music videos. Does anyone still bother watching them?!

I do. If I want hear something by a band/artist I'm not familiar with then I prefer to watch a music video rather than simply listen to the song as the video gives me something to focus on whereas if I'm just listening to the song then I sometimes find myself doing something else while the it's playing and not paying as much attention to the song.

I think you have to make the best of life where you are, and God can equip you for that. If He wants you to leave and go somewhere, He will certainly call you to go.

Remember how the Israelites were exiled then brought home, and then scattered again. But it was the land that was promised to them. It wasn't a just a house or a job, it was the land, the very earth to make their home with. And he didn't send out people alone, it was whole families and tribes that went across the red sea.

What you get nowadays are lone families trying to make it. Or just couples, or even solo people, ex pats. Thats no good for a support system if there is practically nobody you know there, nobody to welcome you. You can't just move into a town and expect people to really accept you if you don't have a job or reason to be there. Plus you will always be a tenant. I do think that unless theres famine or dire poverty, moving around all the time isn't good. Its good to have roots.

Hmm i was going to rant but I feel strangely at peace today. Hallelujah.

Itsa good thing to get things off ones chest, but its a better thing to pray and spend time with God, and then all your rantings and railings at the injustice of the world just seem petty. The world is not going to change just for you, but God calls you out of the world.

Todays rant.

Last night while I was at Braum's I seen a friend from when I was a kid. Growing up I had two close friends. One has since died and this guy.

I think this guy is a punk.

When we were kids (14 - 17) this guy always had to go home at 5:30 because he wanted to set with his mother. Me and my other friend were out in the streets proving ourselves every night. We gained each others respect and we had fun with life long memories.

When I see this guy in public I am nice to him but I want to slap him, he is a punk. I don't like being that way but he is. He never proved himself to us. He always went home to set with his mother. His mother would even tell him its ok to be out but he would go home.

He thinks he is like us but he is not, we proved ourselves on the streets but he always went home. When my other friend died back in February I was hurt because he was a tuff guy who I respected. This guy I could care less if he died, he is a punk.

End of rant.

Ok, extended rant.

I had not seen this guy since I was 17 because he was a punk and could not handle being out past 5:30. All he wanted us for was to get high with us for a few hours and then go home to his mother.

When my friend died a few months back this guy looked me up and wanted to come by. After talking he realized that I have not gotten high since I was 20 and he no longer wanted to come by. All he wanted was to come by for a few hours and get high and then go home to his wife. I cant stand this guy, he is a punk.

Now, end of rant.

I really have nothing to rant about but I am so frustrated. Why can life not be like when I was younger. I woke up, watched Bugs Bunny until noon and then I got on my bike and rode until the sun went down. Girls were so simple back then, they all had cooties and were no good at keeping up on bicycles.

I want innocence and simplicity in my life. Why cant everybody like everybody without all the judgment that goes on. Girls use to like a guy and they would come set next to you and you would hold hands and that was it. Now they have to analyze everything from if you make enough money to if your socially acceptable. What ever happened to "it just makes me feel good being around you".

I want simplicity. I want to live in a tent but then I would have nowhere to go to the bathroom, see as a kid I would just go outside and not even think about it.

I want a simple good paying job. I want a studio apartment with a swimming pool and a weight room. I want a bicycle to ride around town. I want lots of pretty girls around me just because I make them feel good. Not because I have a cool car and I make good money and I can take care of them but just because I make them feel good.

Ok so maybe I had a little to rant about but I am going to do the things I am talking about. I am going to buy myself a Mongoose Fat Tire Bike and ride it all day long. I am going to find a set of friends who don't care about anything except that we all like each other regardless of anything else. I am going to get a studio apartment and swim in the pool for free and lift weights any time I want to. I am going to have a tan like I did as a kid from being outside all the time. Forget Tax's, forget authority, forget what others think. I want a bicycle, a girlfriend that wants to hold hands and maybe a dog but I am not for sure about the dog because that requires responsibility and I don't want any.

I am going to have Chocolate Malt O Meal with a little sugar and a little milk every Mon thru Friday for breakfast. On Saturday I am going to have pancakes with lots of butter and syrup. On Sunday I am going to have biscuits and sausage gravy.

I am going to have a double cheeseburger with a large French fry every Mon thru Friday for lunch. On Saturday I will have pizza. On Sunday I will have Long John Silver fish.

For dinner on Monday I am going to have 2 large grill cheese sandwich with tomato soup, on Tuesday night I am going to have beef Stew with crackers, on Wednesday night I am going to have any kind of Hamburger Helper I want, on Thursday night I am going to have meat balls sandwiches from Subway, on Friday night 12 tacos and a bean and cheese burritos, on Saturday a nice juicy steak and steak fries and Texas toast, on Sunday night Ruben sandwiches or French dip sandwiches.

After every meal I am going to have a big bowl of chocolate pudding, and it will be the kind that needs cooks, not the instant stuff.

For brunch I will have a tuna sandwich and pie.

Why is it whenever I go to utilize something that should be fast because there are never any people..... suddenly is PACKED with sick people to overflow?

Go to get a simple shot and it takes almost two hours sitting around sick people.

If I had known Id sit there in Influenza's waiting room.... Id have just gone to the doctor.

At least the doctor will usually have something like this tucked off in the corner.
