Yeah, something I've noticed in life is that people don't like to follow rules, whether from God or from man. They just want to do whatever they want whenever possible. The only time they'll follow the rules is when it's necessary to keep them from getting in trouble.

rules should not stomp a human to the ground. rules are for the sake of humans, not humans for the sake of rules. sin does not get that. it hates humans and wants to use rules to hate them.

How exactly do rules stomp humans to the ground? Rules that protect the safety and good morality of people hurt no one unless they are not followed. God's rules, if followed, keep us from sin.

I serve God as an eternally forgiven child who truly wants to not sin and wants to serve God (my Father). We are the free, not the bonded.

the pure milk of the word is good. when rules are separated from God and his child, rules become our enemies. so how do we tell the difference between good and evil?

Luke 10:22 (ASV)
All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him.

2Cor 11:14-15 (ASV)
And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

Heb 5:13-14 (ASV)
For every one that partaketh of milk is without experience of the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. But solid food is for fullgrown men, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.

Rules don't keep people from sinning. If they did, we wouldn't need Jesus. Yet, we are saved by grace and not by works, lest any man should boast. Of course, no one is advocating you get to do whatever you want, but God's love isn't contingent on our everyday failings. Our sins are washed away forever.

I guess I should have been more specific with my post. And I should probably just stick with PMs when I want to talk about serious matters.
Why? No one is fighting or arguing.

What I meant in my post was this: when I was in school the kids didn't follow the rules. People on multiple websites I've joined didn't follow the rules at times. Whenever I go places I often see drivers not following the rules. The results can be dangerous and chaotic.

Likewise, God wants us to do the right things, even if we do have free will He invites us to follow Him and not sin. Those are His "rules" and not following them can have serious consequences, even if He doesn't force us to follow them. But some people don't want anyone, including God, telling them what to do. They just want to do what they want and so they live lives of sin.

I believe that grace saves us and faith is important, but we must prove our faith by living virtuously and doing good. As Jesus said in the Bible, helping others is helping Him; neglecting others is neglecting Him: Matthew 25:34-40

Sorry, I just feel like I'm being misunderstood again. I don't mean to hurt or offend anybody, honest.

No one is offended or hurt. :) I understand how much anxiety sucks and makes you second-guess everything, as I get really bad too. But I want you to know that no one is offended or upset over stuff. We know your heart and it's okay for you to share whatever you're thinking/feeling.

Thanks. I'm sorry if I sounded harsh in any way. I guess that's why I try to stay out of arguments, because I'm too sensitive. Sometimes I feel a bit afraid to share my thoughts, so I'm glad you guys care. :purpleheart:

I think that chaos and order both have a good and evil side to them. to me what is important is what is good, which is at times hard to define. it's easier to say that people should follow road rules least they hurt themselves or others.

it's harder to say if kids rebelling at school is good or not. they are after all forced into going, even though it's supposed to be for their good. if they don't follow the rules in the sense of mistreating others, well that is far easier to understand that they are doing wrong.

Ignore what? I’m seriously at a loss, why be angry with what Jesus has said?

Jesus was hated by His own people, His own people argued with Him and got no where was my point. Why be angry with a simple truth like that? It is written...
