yeah turning the other cheek is basically unnatural, hard to pull off when something actually happens to you. and this is pretty hard:

Matt 6:24-33 (ASV)
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?

Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they?

And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Since when is it okay to call off work because you don’t have custody of your son and you “miss him”?
Oh yeah, since you’re best friends with one of the owners :unamused:
I wonder if I could request time off cause I had custody of days off and now I don't........ I really do miss them. :(

now i'm feeling some of the crazier parts of myself. why do people care so much for survival? why do they not get tired of living a life in this world? why do they try so hard to avoid what they will inevitably face - their death? why not just die instead of live rather than spend so much effort to sustain themselves just a little bit longer? dying means being with God, why would anyone want to live when they could die?

why go on with life time and time again when all you do is repeat the same patterns over and over? why does it feel that most are satisfied with mediocrity? but what is there to even do? some seem to have deeply meaningful lives and they seem to be free.

I can't find enough value or purpose in this world to want to keep at it. I have had a full life already. the world has satiated me enough. being a creature is annoying. feeding myself. striving just to cloth myself. going to work only to have to deal with stress of having to work with others who are for the most part at the job because they have to be there, not because they love to be there. so I quit my job. it's been 4 months. I have not left my house yet. i'm surprised the cable company has not cut my net off yet.

and I can't find anything I love that would make me able to keep on surviving in the world. the world has too many hoops that I have to jump through. being a creature is annoying. i'm tired of the lame parts mixed in with the good parts. sometimes i think I can't find any value in existing at all. I hope God has better plans and ideas, but this world just feels like it's in the way. I will try to not eat food for a while, maybe I will find value in being hungry.

Same here, I've experienced poverty as a young child, and various of other challenges, and even now that I have a stable career, there are still many nights that I feel the "void", as if everything does not make sense, still get unrestful nights. I can be in a group of people and yet feel so disconnected. Bad days, good days, up, down, it gets tiring. I guess this is what King Solomon realized, that life is vanity. I see my various patients, many in their final years, I always pause and think and try to imagine how their life was, but a short vapor. And what one thought would bring happiness, is just a fleeting event, nothing last forever. Hang in there y'all, all these is to remind us, earth is not our home.

Something that aggravates me about sports... if you see something that you think is fishy, a certain team or player who seems a little TOO successful, and you say something about it, everyone will just treat you like a silly conspiracy nut, and maybe say you’re just bitter that your own team isn’t doing as well.
But players and teams do get investigated, and some get punished, for cheating. It does happen. And personally I think it’s naivety to assume that it doesn’t happen.

Ya know, here at CF Singles we've obviously had a few male folk, who come and go, try to justify their machismo attitudes towards women via good ol' Ephesians 5:22 (never mind the verse that immediately precedes it, of course), ... and I'm guessing that in most cases, someone's just mad that they aren't getting any girls.
