The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

So basically wanting to be saved is enough to be saved even if your not sure God's real?
Faith is trusting despite doubt, not in lack of it. Just as there is no such thing as freedom without the ability to make a mistake, so there is no faith without room for doubt. The question is not, "do you or do you not doubt?" But it's "do you or do you not accept the doubts you have?" No one, not even the strongest Christian, KNOWS that God is real. No one has seen Him! We trust that He is real. It may be easier to feel confident in that truth for some people than others, but believing is not a feeling or a state of mental convincement. It is a decision. If you trust Christ as your savior, no matter your doubts about Him, you are SAVED.
How the heck do you trust in the face of doubt? I constantly think atheists are smarter.
Thanks Anonymous and Catholic so that's what is meant by the faith the size of a mustard seed thing? Which means a little tiny bit of faith is enough to be saved? And asking Jesus to save you and depending on him to save you even though you have feelings of disbelief that you don't know if you believe or not is enough to save you because you're relying on God? I think im starting to wrap this together. For now at least.
What if you doubt he exists and continue to feel unsaved and fear 2012 that means your unsaved?
What did mother Theresa go through? My biggest fear is I wasn't choosen. I used to have perfect faith.
M.I have OCD. Haven't been diagnosed with it for this particular fear. I see a therapist next Tues. for this theme.
That's awesome news!! I'll be praying for you. I know this is taking a tremendous amount of courage. I'm so proud of you for taking that leap.

I am on Zoloft and Xanax. My fears are just so scarier because this eternity we are talking about. I can't believe in God although I want to. I just doubt him so much. I used to believe one hundred percent people use to ask me how do you know God exists and I would say I just do. Now I ask that.
