  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

NT didactics present only one age to come, which is never-ending.
They allow for no other age to follow.

Wrong yet again.

There are three biblical, but conflicting, doctrinal views of the final judgment.
1) Damnationism
2) Annihilationism
3) Universal Restorationism

Please show the scriptures that are in contradiction with this:

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matt. 10:28

You're missing the most glorious part of that verse: even the damned will agree with God at the Judgment. . .they won't love him, but they'll agree (confess) that he is right and just.
That's not what it means.

Note on "acknowledge" in Philippians 2:11 from Strong's Concordance
S1843 eksomologéō (from 1537 /ek, "wholly out from," intensifying 3670 /homologéō, "say the same thing about") – properly, fully agree and to acknowledge that agreement openly (whole-heartedly); hence, to confess ("openly declare"), without reservation (no holding back).

Okay. . .in NT didactics, the age to come is unending in the new creation.

And this remains:

In light of Mk 9:43, 44, 46, 48; Mt 3:12; Rev 14:11, 19:2, 3,
where Jesus presents unending fire and torment (Mk 9:48: Rev 14:11), and
which are the authority for all translation of "eternal" life, "eternal" death, and "eternal" fire,
the above is precisely true.
What do you love most about hell? (since you are fighting tooth and nail to preserve it)

All who are in Christ will be made alive. . .at the resurrection at the end of time, followed by the everlasting age of the new creation.
By definition, no age is eternal. Each age has a beginning and an end.

Here are a few Universalist scriptures. What you posted is Damnationism. (obviously)
Also, there is a whole long list of Bibles/NTs that do not include the word hell. I'll provide that as well. Thanks.

1 John 2:2
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Romans 11:32
For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

1 Timothy 4:10
That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God,
who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

1 John 4:14
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Romans 5:15-16
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.

Romans 5:18-19
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,
so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners,
so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Colossians 1:19-20
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,
by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

1 Timothy 2:1-6
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

Your reference point is most interesting.
One defends Scripture, not because it is true, but because one likes it.
And the corollary: if one doesn't like it, one tries to unseat it.

Strange world. . .

Am I fighting tooth and nail for hell, or for faithfulness to the Word of God written?

No it isn't. You called them "the damned". As if it will be a forced confession against their will. Not so.

If you knew that your neighbor was torturing people in his basement, would you brag about his good character?

They are damned, and they are made to see the truth of the matter, but that changes only their intellects, it does not change their hearts regarding spending eternity praising and worshipping God.

If those people had raped, butchered and dismembered three of his daughters under the age of 8, and defunding the police left no one to administer justice, I just might do that. . .might even help pay for the torture equipment.

They are damned and they are made to see the truth of the matter, but it does not change their mind about spending eternity praising and worshipping God.
That's not how it works.

Anyone who has knees to bow and a tongue to speak, in heaven and on earth and under the earth (in the realm of the dead), will whole-heartedly, and without reservation, acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. No one can say that “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” you will be saved. Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. (the reason for the bodily resurrection)

Philippians 2:10-11
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

1 Corinthians 12:3
Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says,
“Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 14:9
For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that
he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
