For those Christians that don't much believe in science, no scientific, or pseudo scientific argument for that matter, is going to win them over to Bill Nye's side.
For the vaster preponderance of Christians who do see science as credible, Bill Nye comes off as a bit of a fool for even bothering to make the argument in the first place.

I don't got a dog in this fight.

How would that water stay up?
What do you mean 'stay up'?

Mr. Nye is expecting animals to be swimming up (to the surface?), when they're probably caught in huge underwater maelstroms everywhere.

At 00:48, Mr. Nye says you would expect drowning animals to 'swim up to a higher level.'

What does that even mean?

What kind of turbulence would be created by spinning a basketball inside of a large aquarium at 1000 rpm?

The earth, encased in a ball of water, is turning at just that speed.

Imagine what it would look like from space?

He's expecting to find them concentrated at higher levels but what he neglected to understand, once all these animals are dead they are going to wash every which way as the water recedes. No way are any concentrated bodies going to stay where they died.

True. They bloat, float away and decompose.

Isn't it interesting that believers also have knowledge of science to rebut the scientists.

For those Christians that don't much believe in science,

Has nothing to do with believing in science as if it's an end all. The so-called science is only opinions of what nature is telling us. Did ya' hear the Science guys opinion? Well ok then.

A perfect example of how "science" proves evolution and the lack of a flood, with unfounded or even ridiculous opinions.

Either that, or they were probably ripped to shreds by turbulence.

Kinda like putting apples and oranges in a giant blender full of water and running it on high speed for a year.

Nye cites the "Wyoming" which if anything demonstrates that a 'waterborne' structure of great size is indeed capable of carrying great loads and is seaworthy.

God clearly can not lie so the problem here is thinking that the Bible is purely God's word and not the collaboration of men seeking the truth in a vein attempt to conceive the Divine. All the arguments here are based on the infallibility of the Bible and within this context, there can be no real debate beyond the content presented in this document. One of the most limiting factors contributed by the Bible creators is that the age of Prophecy is long past and that God no longer enlightens anyone. This is particularly convenient in the face of any debate about the authority of Biblical teachings; not allowing for any variation or departure from the cannon of long established beliefs and being blind to any new revelation that God may reveal for a new age!

You Atheist think in natural terms without giving any thought to the super natural.

Invoking magic can explain everything so it explains nothing.

Doing so is a sure sign of defeat in a rational discussion.

Weren't you the one that brought up water spinning above the Earth?

And actually Nye expects no such thing. There were claims of creationists of animals moving up the faces of what they claimed was water deposited sand. He merely extrapolated that to all animals. Creationists have all sorts of crazy explanations of how the animals got in the beds that we can observe, none of which hold up under scrutiny.

You should have read the article:

"Because of its extreme length and wood construction, Wyoming tended to flex in heavy seas, which would cause the long planks to twist and buckle, thereby allowing sea water to intrude into the hold (see hogging and sagging). Wyoming had to use pumps to keep its hold relatively free of water. In March 1924, it foundered in heavy seas and sank with the loss of all hands."

So you are claiming that they won't match what we can observe in the fossil record.

I agree.

Brother Colter, your valiant efforts here in this site are notable but your fight to enlighten those who express belief in the Nicene Creed are entrenched in a dogma that will never allow for a departure from doctrine. Advancing the Fifth Revelation to a group believing in Bible infallibility, will result in great frustration although I know that the dissimilation of this vital information is imperative. I'm very impressed by your postings here; we all must do what we can to impart the Truth but the most beautiful music will never be enjoyed by an audience incapable of hearing; deftness being a conscious choice in this case. My personal frustration is only emphasized here as I endeavor to commune with other Christians. Even this site precludes my full expression much like the Pharisees attempted to delegitimize Jesus and His teachings...

I'm more interested in explaining how they died, rather than where they're buried.

I agree.

Empty question, it asked nothing. If you want an answer, you'll have to ask a complete question.

If it helps, I'm claiming what I very clearly claimed.Be happy to clear up any confusion.

Now comes one of my favorite parts of the video.

This land bridge junk.

First of all, notice how Mr. Nye puts up a map of the earth as it exists today?

That is, it has seven continents.

Then, with this map up, he talks about the perplexity of kangaroos getting to Australia.

This is science in action, folks ... stooping to fake maps to make it look like the task was too hard.

In actuality, the earth was still one big supercontinent at the time.

It was broken up in Genesis 10, not Genesis 9.

Noah could have walked to Australia, without getting his feet wet.

In fact, he could have walked to any land point on earth without even seeing the ocean (Panthalassa) on his way.
