Christianity is a narrow door Dizredux. A very narrow door.

I'll say it again. All Christians believe in the flood.
I have copied this from from the forum rules, see the bolded statements:
Flaming and Harassment
● Do not insult, belittle, mock, goad, personally attack, threaten, harass, or use derogatory nicknames in reference to other members or groups of members. Address the context of the post, not the poster.
● If you are flamed, do not respond in-kind. Alert staff to the situation by utilizing the report button. Do not report another member out of spite.
● Do not state or imply that another member or group of members who have identified themselves as Christian are not Christian.
● Those who do not adhere to the Statement of Faith are welcome as members and participants in discussions, but you are required to respect these beliefs, even if you do not share them.

● Do not make another member's experience on this site miserable. This includes, making false accusations or persistently attacking them in the open forums.
● Respect another member's request to cease personal contact.

And in the statements of faith, found here, there is no mention of the flood at all.

I'd respectfully ask you to stop your rehashing of something that obviously isn't true (both per definition and per the statements of faith on this forum) and is against the forum rules (two of them at the same time).

Like it matters ... right?

Genesis 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Read the Bible.

Isaiah 54:9
“For this is like the days of Noah to me: as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you and will not rebuke you.

Matthew 24:37-39
As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man.

Jesus refers to the days of Noah not some story.

Luke 17:26
As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man.

Luke 17:27
They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.

1 Peter 3:20
who formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.

2 Peter 2:5
if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven other persons, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;

2 Peter 3:5-6
They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water, 6 through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.

Peter is so bold as to call it a fact.

If you believe in the reality of a global flood as part of your faith, I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is you implying that if I do not agree with you then I am not a Christian. That is *far* off base.

What I would like to see is for an evolution believing, flood denying Christian to provide evidence from the Scriptures to support what he believes. Since I have never seen any presented, and since everything that I read in the Scriptures supports a global flood and a six day creation, then until proven otherwise I have to consider these views unscriptural.

Have you considered, many Christians don't take the bible as literal?

Have you considered that many of us don't consider rejection of the Scriptures to be Christ like?

Jesus believed in the flood. Do Christians who reject the flood think they now something He did not?

Jesus quoted Genesis as historical fact. Do Christians who reject Genesis think He was completely mistaken?

For the Christians who reject the Scriptures, on what do they base their rejection? Certainly nothing they can cite in the Scriptures themselves indicate that it's nothing more than a collection of mythology. If it was, why would anyone believe any of it?

Theistic evolution is a cross between the truth of the Scriptures and the lie of evolution. Blending a lie into the truth makes it no longer the truth. That's the problem I have with theistic evolutionists or Christians who reject the Bible. The only basis for what they believe appears to be what they choose to accept to reject.

I didn't say you had to agree with me to be a Christian. That was Satan's suggestion. My statement is what I believe. You can believe what you want.

"Personally, I consider myself an evolutionist. I just happen to reject everything about the theory other than the name. I think the name is cool."

How is that statement any different from theistic evolution? I don't deny that people claim to be Christian and claim to believe in evolution. I question whether they know enough about either to understand why evolution directly contradicts what Christ taught. Just so you know, he taught that the Scriptures were true from a position of knowledge and authority. He was never formally schooled in theology, but He quoted the Scriptures fluently.

They may need to choose a new label for themselves then. Or else perhaps you are misusing the term "Christian"?

Or perhaps you should. After all it looks like worldwide most Christians accept the theory of evolution.

Christian means "of Christ." Evolution is contrary to the teachings of Christ. It's an undeniable fact.
