I never said that. The question I asked was to show from the bible what is the law of the holy spirit.

Those would be things "Commanded" via the Church, as in what the H.S. speaks through.

Acts 1: The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen.

Commandments are law(s) so when the Bible says that the Holy Spirit gave Commandments to God's establised Religious Authority...
...It would be a very good idea to listen.

Catholic & Orthodox can trace their dna back to THAT Church spoken of in Acts 1...
...And the Scripture does say that Jesus VIA the Holy Spirit issued Commandments unto the apostles...
...So that would mean those Christian Councils are serious stuff.

It kills the carnal man not the spiritual man.

here paul clearly shows how sin, flesh and law, run hand in hand, but to walk in the Spirit, is surely not law, or one will be back in the flesh, hence death. So the rom 7 principle is clear, the law can kill the spiritual man, in a serious way, by putting him back into the dead creation.

Just an exciting way of seeing it also.

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law

Question to you. The carnal man is not subject to the law yes?
The spiritual man is not under the law, yes?
Explain the difference.

Not until you first give me a solid rebuttal to the scriptures I first posted, so we have thread order.:)

They clearly show sin law and flesh, like little birds in a nest.

And under Spirit, meant not under law, written as a clear juxtaposition. No?

Fair enough.

If you walk by the spirit you are not under the law. The spirit of God would not lead us into sin. The flesh would lead you into sin. The law condemns those who transgress it. When you transgress the law then it has power over you because of your own sins. In the flesh, you are not subject to the law meaning you cannot adhere to it, you are a slave to sin. Therefore, you will always be under the power of the law. In the Spirit, you are led into all truth, you not lead into sin. You are not led to transgress the law. In the spirit the law can have no power over you, because the spirit leads you away from sin.

You take under the law to mean having to obey the law, but under the law means under the power or condemnation of the law. As a carnal man Paul says in Romans 7 that he was always doing that which was wrong, he was always in opposition to the law of God in his mind. What frees him is the spirit of God so now he can serve the law of God. The flesh bounds you to sin and keeps you under condemnation. When you are in the spirit there is no condemnation because sin does not reign in your life.

However, paul died, and was THEN released from it, no?

So yes, it killed, but then paul walked by faith, not law.

But, the law can kill the spiritual. Why did paul warn the saved galatians, if they got under law, they would be in bondage, and he called it leaven in 5;9, and said they would be severed from Christ, sounds deadly to me...
:)

In Galatians 5, Paul is addressing a mentality. The law was never meant to justify anyone before God. The law is never meant for salvation. If you want salvation through the law, it means you must keep all of it perfectly. They had the wrong mentality. Justification is not by law. The law in itself is holy, just and good, but anything used for a purpose it was never intended for always ends up bad.

Only one person kept the law and that was Jesus, but he demonstrated in the wilderness temptation that it is possible. We just don't always have the mindset.

Incorrect, if we are under something, we are bound to follow it, sure there is condemnation, but would there be condemnation, if one is not under the law?;)...heheheh

He said died to it, released from it, not under it.

And law does not reign, why do u seem to want to separate them, when scripture does not?

Wait a minute..

However, the fact reamins if they got under law, they would be in bondage, and severed from Christ, and it would be sin and death. That was the point of the post, law kills, and severs us from Christ.

Correct?

Let me ask you a question. When does traffic laws have power over you? When you keep them or when you break them. Do you get a ticket for keeping the traffic laws. Do you do jail time for keeping the laws of the land. It is when you break them you get into trouble with the law.

Not really sure what you are trying to say here. But anyways. You can go ahead and answer my question now, just so we can have thread order.

Under the condemnation of the law which comes to those who are in violation. Listen, the wages of sin is death, not the wages of obedience is death. And the law is not sin.

then you can't be in between law and grace. You under one or the other. Cause the law is in flesh, and not the Spirit. Paul made that clear, led of Spirit, not under law, not in flesh. Gal 5:16-18.

No questions, till you finish here..:p I am in blue, it put u in quote too

Did I prove that law, sin and flesh, are one, and walking in the Spirit, is a juxtaposition to law?

Besides, the traffic law thing just shows a very elemental approach to the law issue.

Fine, Christians doo not murder..there ya go..happy?:D^_^

Flesh = carnal - No scripture needed to prove this.

carnal != spiritual - No scripture needed to prove this.

law = spiritual - Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

therefore

law != flesh - Same text as above says this. Law is spiritual but I am carnal. But shows opposing terms. Law is not equal to flesh.

the law is for the flesh..here ya go..law for living in flesh...

5 For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.

here too..

sin is in the flesh obviously, but why does law wake it up?

8 But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.

If the law is so spiritual? Are you mocking the law? The bible says it is spiritual. What according to Romans 7 had Paul bound? Wasn't there a law Paul wanted to serve and he was prevented from doing so?
