Did not mean it as mockery. Was just being silly. Twenty plus years of practicing medicine has left me largely equanimitous about death suffering etc. It's not that I'm unfeeling or callous, just that I accept a lot of the uglier less glamorous side of life in stride because I deal with gross and disgusting on a daily basis. I also have critters, four dogs and three cats, and no I don't have a pet tree.

I guess this is where I just find things sad. Seeing an animal as food when it's a little baby, it's just sad to me. It's bad enough farm animals have to end up as such, but to see them already as slaughtered as babies, kinda makes me sick. Most of the people (predominantly guys) I know who like to act macho about bacon and pot roast would never have the guts to kill any of the animals they brag about liking to suck down.

I do apologize for offending you and making you feel you had to defend yourself.

I'm sure you know I had a farm, grew up some on farms. We aren't vegan. But I did produce more milk, cheese, eggs, and vegetables than meat. And I've been accused of being too compassionate (except that wasn't the word used). I never wanted any suffering, any lack of quality of life, or any knowledge of death to touch my animals. I really didn't see that meme in that way. I have another with a duckling running away titled "I don't wanna be a nugget!" My ducks were primarily egg-layers, grasshopper control, and comic relief. I actually don't see baby ducklings as "nuggets". But I am sorry you were offended.
