  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wish you had explained it better then .

Youd be hard pressed to find scientific proof that a Virgin Mans Penis gets smaller and atrophies if it is not used. Further, nearly every Virgin Man participates in Masturbation prior to marriage. Finally, ive read a report by a Physician that says all thats required to bring about good stimulatiion to a woman, sexually, is a 3" Penis .

I dont think we need to go any further in this conversation .

Are you embarrssed talking about human sexuality? Well, since I am a scientist, talking about human sexuality does not bother me. We never get to old to learn. You and I both can learn something discussing this topic. There is no 11th Commandment that says'"Thou shall not talk about sex."
God created sex,and just like when he created a tree,"And it was good"

Im just the Messenger ....if you have a problem with sexual rules and consequences set forth by God, then youll have to take it up with him.
Per 1 Cor. 5 and 6 will get a Person eternal condemnation if a lifestyle of sexual sin is had. This assumes no repentence.

Yes, i have engaged in sexual sin and ive repented.

It isnt ME that is condemning anyone...it is the Bible which does and im simply sharing that in this thread.

Say my friend
Have you seen
Second Timothy
2:15
This verse says to rightly divide the word of truth. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek. Therefore, one has to study and to know Greek, not English to fully comprenhend. Do you comprende? I am not saying that,by one knowing English, that one cannot fully understand the Bible. It is just English can have a differrent "twist" on the meaning of certain words.

Without getting too technical, for example,Jesus is not the correct name for our Saviour. There is no "J" in the Hebrew language. The Son of God's real name is "Yeshua". Now,if you never knew that, you will now know that you have been calling the Son Of God by the wrong or improper name.

I plugged porneia into a greek (ancient) to english dictionary and it says "prostition and idolatry". Every Bible related translator adds all the extra definitions..but the straight greek to english one didn't have sexual perversions, abberations, or deviancy as part of the strict translation.

Either way, I don't believe that sex outside of marriage is part of God's plan, but I see it more as a rule that protects us (heart, body, and soul) than the great sin against God that our society has made it out to be.

OK so let's just agree to disagree because we know that we won't change anyone's mind. We all have our own walk with the Lord and we will answer to Him.
1 Cor 5 is talking mainly about incest in the church and in verse 5 it talks about delivering such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

the phrase "put away from yourselves the evil person is repeated nine times in Deut. as an abiding principle for God's people, applying directly to the case of incest and indirectly to all leavening evil in our lives. This process is redemptive and not punitive and it is talking about the church judging it's members, and God judging the world.

While we may be able to certainly see sin in others we should not become their judges. Remember the man praying that had status and when he saw a poor man come in he prayed "thank God I am not like that man" and God scolded him for that.

We all have shared our views and I don't want to see anyone quit posting so can we just agree to disagree on this one?

The criteria isnt how well you know Somebody...the criteria is what the Bible instructs us to do when you see/hear/witness a professed Christian going down the wrong path ; and it is imperative that you go to that person and point out the error of their ways (the sin they are involved in) in hopes that they will want to turn from it. The rest is up to them and Gods loving conviction in their Soul . If you dont go to them and point out their error / present the truth based on Gods Word which Christians are to live according to...then that isnt very loving . Im not suggesting we pull out microscopes and try to find all kinds of dirt on ANother...but to pay strict attention to what Gods Word instructs us to regarding a professed Christian who has made sin a lifestyle action .

(James 5: 19 ' My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins)'

David,I hope that you will understand the points that I was making. Let us take two different scenarios.
Scene one:,"Hi!,my name is Bill, and I am an alcoholic/drug abuser/weed smoker." I have repented of my sins(addictions). People would surround ,embrace, and forgive him. Someone might even sing "Amazing Grace" Some may even cry.

Scene two:

Hi! my! name is Bill, and I am a sex addict.I have repented of my sins".
What do you think what would happed? He certainly would get no hugs. The women would not come anywhere within a ten foot radius of where he is standing.(The fear would be,oh! he might have AIDS!)He would be looked upon as if he was Adolph Hitler,Charles Mason,or O.J. Simpson.

Now do you get the point? I surely hope so.

But when a man urinates,he is not having an erection.Do you want empirical evidence? I have empirical evidence. How can you explain the fact that my genitals have gotten smaller since I have been having less sex? Huh?

The size of your genitalia has shrunk because you are getting older and you have less testosterone in your body. The same thing would have happened if you were having daily relationship with a wife.

An erection is not a muscular event, it is a vascular event...the size at that point is based on the amount of blood the body sends there and the ability of the blood vessels to accommodate...so if you have any sort of vascular issues such as hypertension or peripheral artery disease, that might also be a factor.

If you have gained weight, you can also have the appearance of being smaller since more of the length is now on the inside of your skin since your skin is now further away from your internal plumbing.

Richer people are a lot happier - don't believe it? Check out ghetto life such as in East New York, Brooklyn where I grew up. Trust me, life is not pretty there.

The depression level and suicide rate in wealthy neighborhoods is astronomical....they have things but are not happy. They die young of stress related diseases and get divorced because they seldom spend time as a family. Appearances matter more than people's hearts and souls. The happiest people I know are barefoot poor country folks. They grow or hunt what they eat. They spend time with extended family. They don't care that they don't have the lastest electronic gadget. And they still go to church every Sunday because that is still an important part of their social circle.

I have friends that are literally worth millions of dollars and friends who wonder how they are going to pay the rent and bills each month. I'd rather spend an evening with my broke friends because they are more "real"...and sad to say, often more generous with what they do have.

It is just money. It doesn't make you happy. What you do with your life is what makes you happy.

There are two ways to interpret the Bible. There is exegesis and isogesus.
Exogenous is to study what the Bible says. Isogesus is bring an interpretation from outside the Bible. I have lived by and interpreted the Bible from a exogenous point of view all my life. Especially from the time I learned about the methods of interpreting the Bible.

So you have confirmed that the original writings of our Bible didn't refer to sexual immorality. There is a lot of documentation that the Bible is talking about prostitution, even 1 Cor.6 and 10 makes that plain. Its also well documented sexual immorality is a new interpretation only about 60 years old. So its not what the Bible says. Its what man says. I don't see that you have given me any evidence that sexual immorality is a valid translation. I have given you LXX, which is the Bible Jesus, the Apostles and all NT believers used. Then there is the Vulgate translation in the 300, that shows early Christian believed the originals meant prostitution, and fornication meant prositution in 1600 when the KJV was written. The Greek language today means prositution not sexual immorality. That is 2200 years of the Bible meaning one thing. Its only modern English translations that change the meaning of the the Bible. I'll stick with what the Bible says personally. You ask me to confess that I'm ensnared and to change what I read the Bible saying but give me no evidence that what you say is true or what I says is false. How irresponsible that that?

So, you have concluded then that premarital sex, casual sex, hookup sex, etc.. is something that God extends to all who wish to engage in it because it is a nuetral matter ?

Of course God created sex...but did you not know that he expected our sexuality to be treated with dignity, sacredness , and highly personal ? Sex is only 'good' when Gods ideals about it are maintained .

As for me wanting to finish the discussion on 'penis atrophy' , length , et al... this thread isnt the correct venue for that . However, if you want to kick around some ideas on the subject of our sexuality, id be only too pleased to do it via PM and i think that the C.F. Moderator would encourage us to do so if we are going to get into the specifics of penises, etc.

You can genuinely live out the Christian Walk regardless of what language it is in , you can learn about our Creator and his immense love for us, and you can learn about Gods global salvation plan . Furthermore , you can know how you should live and realize what is sin and what isnt .

Yes, i comprehend it and it has been my lifes compass .

Ive seen plenty of people in S.A. (Sexaholics Anyonomous) when i attended the meetings, get the same treatment mentioned in Scenario #1 .

So, no I dont see your point my Friend . But i do see the biblical point of approaching a fellow professed Christian and bringing to his/her attention the fact that they are caught up in a wrongful lifestyle that will afford only destruction in the end.

I do see sex as a neutral matter. As will all activities in live including going to a part all tings much be done in love and faith. .........

Do you see a lifestyle of sex outside of marriage, as a biblically nuetral thing that God in his Word didnt address one way or the other ?

The statistics on divorce that I have seen clearly show the poor getting divorced at high rates than the rich.

The divorce rate and infidelity rate for both and the middle levels are too high. Nobody is really happy. I don't think money is the factor that determines happiness.

2 Sam.12:7-10

Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. 9 Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’

I'd like to know what you think of what God said thru the Prophet Nathan in verse 8 when he was confronting David about his adultery.

I've read studies that go both ways on how wealth effects peoples happiness. I sure don't have enough personal experience to make generalizations. :)

The divorce rate and infidelity rate for both and the middle levels are too high. Nobody is really happy. I don't think money is the factor that determines happiness.

Here's a question for those of you who do not subscribe to waiting until married to have sex:

How long would you stay in a relationship with a woman that believes that sex is only for married folk? I mean let's say this woman is someone that you really like and think there is a possibility of a long term relationship, but the one thing you disagree on is the sex thing. Would you stay in a relationship with her? if so for how long? if not, why not?

That's a tough question as I can't see myself putting a time lime on such a thing.
The closest relationship I have to that is my exGf. We have had not intimate relations since we split, but we have vacationed together, spent time together, I've given her a massage.

I'm guessing I'd put you in the friend zone! lol Partly, because I'm having a really hard time seeing myself married again.

Since your study of biology is more contemporary than my study of biology,I am confident that you are telling the truth.

With that said, now can you see that it is imperative that I find a lady before I get too old to function? I have diabetes and hypertension. Either of which can and will cause a man not to be able to please his wife. If I am not able to please my wife, she would certainly dump me. I have be dumped for lesser things.
