• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I find the opposite...my liberal friends are some of the most closed-minded and judgemental people I know. The awful things I have been accused of because I take a quiet stand that goes against their beliefs. They won't even take the time to listen to my reasons...I am a racists or cruel or stupid.

Now, I know that this isn't all liberals but I am getting tired of "feel good" over substance. I also get tired of being wicked because I don't believe with someone or do something truly awful like eat meat or defend baby's rights to live once conceived and has a heart beat.

If a vegetarian puts me down for eating meat,I wil just make these two facts known to him or her.

Adolph Hitler was a vegetarian. Charles Manson is a vegetarin.

Those liberal friends I'd call fundamentalist liberals. Yup, they are out there for sure.

I kind of agree with blackribbon. The liberals I know IRL and the ones I hear on TV are always claiming we should be more tolerant, but that is only as long as we are tolerant of whatever THEY believe like being gay or Pro choice. But THEY don't want to tolerate the fact that we are Christian and when the conversation doesn't go their way, they immediately attack our character. It's very Hypocritical in my opinion. And they argue on points that don't matter.
I have one friend that is now mad about Obamacare because she is realizing that she will have to pay a penalty and she was trying to argue with us that it was the insurance companies that put that in the bill and it's their fault because they are greedy. Make no nevermind that it doesn't matter who put what in the bill, they (our government) pushed it thru before they even read it, hence Nancy Pelosi telling us they had to pass it to find out what was in it! And she would not budge on her opinion. And whenever I disagree with her about any political news she attacks me saying "oh you must only get your information from Fox News" which of course isn't true but instead of dealing with the topic, they go straight to character assasination.

Very true, a lot of liberal extremists do that. However, a lot of conservative extremists do it as well. Arguments are built around character assassination and circular arguments

I agree and that's when I quit discussing with them if they attack my character or me or my being a christian. I will not convince them to my side so why argue? But you are correct all kinds of people are intolerant and attack characters not just liberals or conservatives even
